I have already put new poly bushes in but i'm guessing with these you don't need any bushes as they are all one unit? Did you have to get the 4 wheel alignment set up properly before the judder dissapeared???? They look pretty easy to fit did you do them yourself?

Got them on both sides. When i bought the new wheels the guy put them on for me.....

Think i'll try the 4 wheel alignment today............... What are rose jointed tension rods Rich???

This is now becoming a real pain and i',m not enjoying driving the car!!!!!! So far this is what i've checked 1.All pistons in the calipers move freely. 2.Both front discs have been skimmed. 3.As they were skimmed no fault with wheel bearings. 4.Loosend the two bolts on the end of the tension rods while the car was jacked up, lowered it onto the ground then tightened them up again. 5.Both front wheels were balanced this morning. The car still vibrates through the steering wheel although not as bad now and only from about 60mph upwards....... Anyone got any other radical ideas or does anyone know of a good mechanic in the London area that could help???? Cheers Alex 07944045178:confused:

Tell me about it and that's what i thought Si, the company seemd to think the prop shaft was something to do with it and when i mentioned upper and lower links and bushes they wanted to check the run out on the hub??????? I wish i could find a garage in London i can trust that really has some knowledge of our cars. I do need to check the two bolts on the other end of the torsion bars because when i put them in i tightened them when the car was on jacks and should have done it when the car was on the road.... Maybe i should also check the geometry????

Any other ideas anyone??????

Ongoing................... I've discovered a vibration from about 40mph upwards through the steering wheel which gets worse the faster i go. So far i have: Changed the tension rod bushes to poly ones....no difference. Checked each individual piston in each caliper is working.....yes it is. Had the discs checked for warping......slightly out on one worse on the other had them skimmed..........still no difference. The car is now at Power Engineering who skimmed the discs and they are doing further investigation tomorrow. They've also checked the wheel bearings and both fronts are ok. Thanks Richard although foned Twat Fat and they said "errr duno mate don fink so"????? I've since found a company in Uxbridge Power Engineering, they deal with Scoobeys and Mitzi's and say the Evo's suffer from a similar problem and can check the run out then skim them for about £30 a side if needs be! I'll give Z centre a call for a price..... Checked again and the left offside definately has some movement there. I'll change that one then check it again...think the bearings are only about £30 quid. Cheers

The Porsche website yes i did have a 928 and was on a Porsche owners website..... By the way just came back from a drive and tried pushing the top of the wheel when it was parked. I noticed on the offside front wheel when i pushed on the top i could hear a slight knocking which will mean some movement even though the wheel is tight. The right is ok. I was also thinking as the front discs are floating and use the tightness of the wheel to hold them in, if there is wheel bearing damage and some movement then even though the wheel is tight the disc will move under braking??????? Anyone any idea how much a set of wheel bearings are? Are there two on each wheel? Cheers Alex

So noticeable then!!!!!! I remember with my old cars you could push the top of the wheel when stationary and feel if their was any knocking or movement, if there was then it was wheel bearing......

*****x so now it could be another thing!!!!!!! How would i know if the bearings are on their way out would'nt i feel it or hear it more on cornering?

...............so i've hadc another look at the vibration from the brakes and can confirm it does it from about 40mph and is a definate wobble from the steering wheel. As mentioned before the discs are relatively new from Danny about 1000 miles only slotted DBA's, the calipers are from an R33 GTR and all pistons are moving freely. I have already replaced the tension rod bushes to poly one's from Z Centre but this made no difference at all (good that i've changed them anyway i guess!). The pads are Porterfields RS4's and also fine. I've goodridge hoses and even bled the brakes last weekend but still wobble from the steering which is worse at high speeds.... The only thing i've not checked is that the discs are warped but think this is unlikely as they are pretty new and i've not really hammered them! What is the easiest way to check if one or both are warped?????? Cheers Alex

Discs are pretty new only done about 600 miles DBA's slotted from Danny.......Brembo's are from an R33GTR pads are porterfields RS4's.......i think????

I guess it could be balancing but Si it only happens when i brake and usually more about 70mph upwards..... Still not tested yet after i put them back together and sorted out the pin but also swapped the pads around and generally tightened everything. Want to test them but it's so wet at the moment want to wait 'till it dries a little more..... Also happy with the pistons as they are moving ok. Could be the balancing i guess as i do get some very slight wobble around 70-80 mph but not too noticable..........
