import or UK spec
Have a poke around this site matey: http://www.300zx.org.uk/ I'd say the newer and fewer miles covered by the zed you buy the better chance you have of getting a more maintaince free zed. Look for one thats got alot of reciept for recent work - cambelt, clutch, tyres etc tbh a long mot doesn't mean it has nesscearly been looked after. I'm biased but the newer zed's tend to have much better paintwork than the older ones (there are exceptions) and have uprated things such as the fuel rail, electronic hicas and gearbox - can save you alot of money in the long run. If you want to come and have a poke round a newer zed my manual TT 2+2 is for sale, i'm not far from birmingham in wolverhampton - Stephen 07920560397

Selling a Zed
Hi, My Zed is in the for sale section - Not sure why i'm only having a couple of people looking at it? Is £5000 too much for a 1996 tt manual lwb? Your thoughts would be appreciated! Cheers, Ste

What tyres to buy??
Lol, just make sure you research the compound, if its hard it'll more than likely cause you probs! On toyo's i have limited experience but i know they vary quite abit!

What tyres to buy??
anything like this is subjective, the point is that a car with alot of power needs the most grip and traction it can get and the budget tyres just don't provide this as they are made cheaper and do not have the research invested into them, and in the wet (from my own experience) are quite scary, my first zed is only stock but with budget tyres on the back in the wet as soon as boost started to feed in the wheels lose traction and spin up, with a well researched tyre (which tend to be expensive because of this) the loss of traction is limited. It's not a car that can be run on a shoe string for very long! :nono:

My New Toy
Lol, should of give it to me over the past two days, preston to essex and back :mac1: . I've been keeping an eye on the forum, sounds like your going to a have quite a motor when you're finished! :p that'll probably be a drop in the ocean once you want the next upgrade and then another! Are you going to the midlands RR if it goes ahead? i'd be interested to see what you get out of it if you do! Going to come up to a midlands meet in the slicktop before i start working on it i think, prob start after the RR so i know what condition the engines in! Hopefully see you in the near future matey! :hyper:

Hard Pipes or Silicone
Personally i'd say, stainless is pretty if thats what you like but i'd go with the silicone due to the amount of heat that needs dispating under the bonnet stainless is not going to help with charge temps. Plus i think the samco ones in blue or red look mint!! Ste

What tyres to buy??
I kind of agree with mark, having anything but the best tyres possible is kind of foolish in a zed (or any car with this kind of power), because even if you want to drive sensibly, tight corners or a roundabout thats a wee bit wet, it only takes a little bit of acceralater to start sliding about all over the shop. I'd rather forget the bling and "engine mods" because a stock car with proper tyres is going to be that much nicer and probably perform better than a car with budget tyres. I don't understand false economies?? :confused:

My New Toy
I can see where your coming from matey! but i can always buy one to keep as a show car later on! A car's best being used and enjoyed in my opinion and this kind of model is ideal for track use.
