Hey everyone, Not normally into posting up about my car but i've been so happy with my new purchase i thought i'd share it with all you guys! :D The photos are not brilliant but i was in abit of a rush. Was all by accident, was dropping some bits to Lee7s, i can vouch for his cars after having a look around, this is a top notch car with the sweetest engine i've heard from any car let alone a 12yr old! It's one of the best lol a slicktop, shortie TT manual. :hyper: I'm not too keen on the exhaust but apart from that i'm well chuffed! What do you all reckon? Ste

Petrol Tank
I think there is a difference as the japs take an age to fill up opposed to the UK ones, i'm not sure why but i presume there is a restriction in the jap's, got a feeling their garage nosles are longer the uk forecourts.

New.ish car for 2008
LOL @ my wife, isn't so sure, but I'm sure, that given time, she'll come around to my way of thinking..... Seriously though, it's nice to see someone go with a different line of thinking instead of being power hungry and then the posts on why is car knackered that tend to follow! I'm doing alot of reading and research on this at the moment, specfically the brakes and suspension - one that seems to be recomened across the board is replacing the steering knuckle with a utherane, giving really good feedback and not alot of money. Sounds good to me, hope you have alot fun with it! Ste

Don't be afraid to look at the car and test drive it etc, all switches and lights and functions you can think of, as a geniune buyer will not have a problem with this! gives you abit of room to negioate aswell if you find anything minor. Good luck mate, hope it works out!

This might be teaching you to suck eggs but hth! :p The best thing to do is read as much as you can - i.e. http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/BuyingZ.htm Has the guy got documentation for any work done to the car, hows it sound from cold, smoke on load etc, recent cambelt change. More important than anything is to look in the sills just back from the door on both sides where the targa drains are as that and the rear quarter are prime rust spots that don't always show up in the paint until too late. Got caught out by that on one myself! Might be the bargain of the century or a money pit that will cost you £5k to get back to a healthy state before you can do anything in the way of mods. Best bet is to find someone near you on the forum that knows there way round the car and that'll come and have a look with you! HTH, Ste

Call me a geek but i find this stuff really interesting and thats two nuggets i didn't know that now i do! Tar

Wheels what do i do?
I may well be thinking of this in the wrong way but from the diagram, to me it looks like if there is a greater positive offset there is a greater volume over the top of the brake disc for the calipier to fit, for the same width if you reduce the offset to a minimum your reducing the space inside the rim? Is that wrong? Wheels what do i do?
yeah i understand that it is like anything that is "bigger the better" it's within a limit. Currently looking at braking and suspension set-ups and getting over the intial nomeclauture hurdle if you understand what i mean, what things refer to rather than there application! Sorry for the hijack again jaffa, my general opinion would be to leave older wheels on if you modifying the car incase of any accidents - will make anything done all the more special if the wheels go on last and finish it off! Thanks again!

Wheels what do i do?
ah i see the midpoint line of the wheel to the mounting of the hub to the wheel right gotcha, so the larger the offset the more room for larger calipers? That'll make choices about a braking system much easier! Tar Si

Wheels what do i do?
Sorry, centreline of the wheel? is that from the distance from the hub to the front face of the wheel? Tar for the help!

Wheels what do i do?
Sorry to hijack, what does offset refer to, i.e. distance from what?
