  1. Cheers for the link. I've got a couple of places to try already too. I think my point was more toward the club authorita... like, what's the club gonna do for me? I need track day cover. Do that for me. Please. No? Why's it all gone quiet? I'd like an answer from a mod or admin if that's alright.
  2. I like your thinking... I know a guy with sponsorship on his car. But, as far as I know, he has to give some assurance about attending regular events and putting his car in high-profile places. He's a bit of a track-day nut and (besides) is kinda involved with his sponsors. My advice (which is probably worthless): if you have a blingin' sound-system (prolly not in a race-look car) you'd probably get a good deal if you were a mobile advert. As for proper race stuff (body / cage / engine work) find someone you trust to do a decent job and present the idea to them. Have an enthusiastic plan of stuff like events you'll be at or magazines you reckon you can get your car into. If you have an outstanding piece of machinery, people will be interested in it. You may have to fork out a small fortune to get a good amount of interest tho. Good luck bud.
  3. Oh fahhhk! Really sorry to hear that Stu. I was so sure you were getting it back today. Hey, don't blame me... it can't be the curse cos the problem must have been there before you parked next to me. Bad news :(
  4. How come you h'aint listed me as paid? As it happens I've been thinking of asking you to take me off the list. At least that way I'm not holding up a slot that someone else might want when the chances of SE having my car ready in time are so slim. If it's ready, I'm sure they'll slot it in. But for now, give the slot to someone else Ian. Sorry to f*ck you about.

Oh FFS Ian! You can't do this to me! It's touch and go whether the engine will be back in my car for the rr-day as it is... I can't go ordering a set of fannymolds - I'll NEVER get it back!!! Still, if I don't get them at least I've still got /something/ I can do to my car when it starts feeling slow again ;) You bastud... I'm looking forward to seeing how your car comes out :D
  6. Don't quote me, but it should be: rear wheel bhp, rwbhp corrected to a crank bhp figure, and a final speed indication. And everyone should get a printout of their torque and bhp graphs. The final speed won't be the absolute top speed your car can achieve - the run will probably be done in 4th (manual) - low rpms(1200?) to the red-line (whatever yours is). No, you won't have to drive on the rr! That'll be done by Pete and his assistant... whoever that is on the day. It won't be the loverly pierced tonge girl... she'll be wandering around looking loverly AFAIK... oh, and her name's Claire (spelt wrong probably) NOT whatever Stu said! As for whether it's safe, it's probably (don't quote me) as safe (if not safer) than taking your car up to 160-odd mph on a real road. If something's gonna break, it'll break. But it's only a short blast on the rr, where you'll probably sustain that speed longer on a real road... if you've got room of course :D Dunno whether anyone'll get time to pull tricks like the fire-extinguisher one. But that sounds cunning. I like :)

Eh, what?! Where from, how much... and when can I have some? :) Is this an SE (whatever) thing?
  8. Oh dear. What did I miss? Hello, of course.
  9. Gotta be worth doing the obvious visual stuff... make sure there's plenty of coolant in your rad, be darn sure you aint got tired old stretchy top / bottom rad hoses, pull all the dead animals / fur / feathers and guts out of the rad and IC vents... make sure you've got some decent tread on your back tyres cos otherwise they'll spin on the rollers and give a naff reading, don't turn up with a worn clutch (could also be embarassing) or if it's an auto make sure it's full with ATF and being cooled properly (get the fur off that autobox cooler)... um... what else... oh, clean the blood off your air filter (or get a new one)... prolly also worth running a couple of tanks of Optimax through if you don't already use it - not cos you're gonna get tons more power but because it could help keep your poor lump a bit cooler when it's doing 160 mph standing still without a fantastic amount of air blowing over it. For sure, some breakdown cover wouldn't hurt (just in case). Tissues... yeah, cos either you'll be spunking over how much your car's putting out... or you'll be crying about how many bits it's in!
  10. Cool. Chears Ian.
  11. It didn't arf stink by the time we left! Right dirty b*stard my mate is! :)
  12. Oi you b*stard! :slap: I've got enough curse to go around for everyone! You even parking in the same car-park means your lumps prolly gonna blow up in a few months time. In fact, the curse has spread to my mates M3 - it's not even species specific! But then our cars have been strangely linked since we got them. You know that's why my car's black, don't you?!... it started out white, but as the curse grew, it got darker and darker. It's all true you know!?
  13. Possibly early days, but any chance I could use the club name to bag a discount on some track day insurance? I.e. does anyone here have a decent (cheap / reliable) contact for some? It's November I need it, so not immediately urget. I need some breakdown cover while I'm at it... any ideas anyone? Obviously I can go find this stuff out myself - I'm just wondering if it's better to do it through the club.
  14. It's very simple... the rolling road is in Witham - 5 minutes drive (apparently) up the road from SE. Likewise hoping I have some kind of car to slap on the rollers... or an engine with a pair of wheels to put up some big numbers.
  15. D'oh! Maybe someone should let SE know before their new sign arrives?!
  16. Dunno 'bout stealing towels... my mate backed up their bog and we left in a bit of a hurry! Maybe this is pay-back?! I didn't seem to get a "You gotta be fooking kidding me" button but that's pretty much it. I've kept the emails in case anyone needs the header details, but I'm thinking I might mail Green Park tomorrow to let them know. Might ask them to install a proper working bar for the next Billing too. Beer vending machine?! What's that all about?!!!
  17. Thankyou. Yeah, Bob's up for a bit of cruising... and I don't mean that in a gay way of course! You know he's talking about getting his BMW 540 on the rollers too? ;)
  18. I know a few of you guys stayed there the Billing weekend... probably no fault of their own, they've just sent me two very suspicious emails that I'm presuming are virus'd. One claims to be from Microsoft (a security update, with patch attached!) and the other's a Network Email Service announcement with an executable attachment.
  19. It's because of the Micra SE they want to drop the SE bit ;) Besides Nissan apparently got the 'ump and didn't want them racing with "Nissan" in their name.
  20. ...and it's Nisstek. It'll probably be SE Nisstek for a while then the SE bit'll get dropped.
  21. Spoke to Bob on Friday cos I just happened to be there (again)... yes, everyone is expected to pay up front. I think everyone will need to make out cheques to SE (or actually their new name) and either have Macca collect them and forward them, or send them directly to SE. It's probably best noone sends cheques anywhere just yet until Macca / Bob / the pretty girl on reception with the pierced tongue (who's name escapes me, dammit!) organise what's best to do... I'm just repeating what Bob's told me here. They want a definite list of who wants to be there on the road and paying up front kinda shows your commitment. Pierced tongue girl (dammit) is gonna sort out directions to SE and the rolling road (5 minutes(?) up the road in Witham) so if anyone needs to phone someone for details, it's either call her or ask Macca here. I did try to get her to wear a tight black catsuit on the day but she didn't seem too keen. Redline are gonna be covering the open day / meet on Saturday and the rolling-road day on the Sunday. If enough people are up for going out Saturday evening (beer / curry / somink like that), the SE crew sound up for it and possibly the Redline guys too. Bob was talking about getting a mass convoy of 300's down to Southend seafront, but I dunno how tricky that'd be. Could be possible. Apparently there's gonna be some sort of prize or plaque in SE (whatever) for whoever puts out the biggest bhp on the day. So get tuning now people! I'm pretty sure they said SE gates open around 10am-ish Saturday, and (as mentioned) the rolling road sessions start the same time Sunday. Bob's said there's enough room to lock up a few (20-something?) cars Saturday night (might be able to make room for more somewhere else), then everyone that's around can shoot up to the road in convoy. Otherwise meet up in Witham - it's supposed to be pretty easy to find (round the corner from a big Ford dealership). Might be best for Macca to confirm, but Bob's said they could possibly extend the list to 25 cars (300ZX's only) if there's enough people interested. I'm looking forward to seeing some serious power cars on the day :) Could be kinda interesting because it's a 1000 bhp 4WD road - which probably means it's limited to 500 bhp rear-wheel. If there's a bunch of people bending the needle then I s'pose that's gonna make you part of a rather exclusive club?! Anyway, enough text already?
  22. 1 place left! Who's it gonna be?!
  23. Crikey, this is like talking to my gf! So because you haven't told me to bugger off does that mean it's party at Stu's parents? Free rooms all round and breakfast in the morning? D'OH!.. and now I'm in the wrong because I said I weren't gonna say any more and you've made me do the opposite! Are you sure you're not a girl Stu?!
  24. I was trying to blag a free room at Castle Waterman! But I know you're trying to politely ignore me so I shall say no more ;) Hmm... cars... well, depending on how they feel about it, and how much room there is, maybe a few could be locked up in SE and the rest left at their storage place... which is only a short walk from the high street anyway. And there's a nice pub on the way ;) Is this starting to sound like a plan or somink?! Back to kirbz original point, we could get a bit of discount for booking a whole load of rooms at the same time. I'm not doing an Ajay and paying for it all tho!
  25. I think my car might actually already be there when everyone arrives on the Sunday, with Pete under the bonnet trying to make some serious horsepower (no engine, just Pete peddling really fast). So put me down for a slot please Ian ;) Cheers dude.
