  1. Guess that's a no then eh Stu? ;) Yeah, that one you suggested looks kinda near. Loads of curry houses in the high street AFAIR. Depends how p*ssed everyone wants to get of course. I'd be happy just knocking back a couple and having a chat, otherwise I aint gonna get up for the rolling-road day on the Sunday... which is kinda the point, right?!
  2. Not exactly a massive tourist spot, is it? Just wondering whether any of the pubs (like the one on the river) would put people up? How well do you know Chelmsford? There must be a few hotels there. And I bet you've been out on the p*ss in Chelmsford enough times... no?
  3. Hey Danny, I used to get this all the time... really embarassing isn't it?! One time my mate went tearing down the road, slammed the brakes on and stalled it (in my auto), then sat there crapping himself that he was f*cking my turbos... trying to start it in drive. Not good. Anyway, I think what Duff is saying is probably best even if you don't seem to have a problem at standing idle. My timing was also retarted to cope with the extra boost which I don't think helped. And my lump was old and tired (full of goo).
  4. Well can I bagsee a room, parking space and fried breakfast then? Par-tey?
  5. It's gotta be a get on the net and see what's what. AFAIK there aint that much in the way of hotels in Maldon (where SE is). But the rolling-road day won't be in Maldon anyway. So if everyone wants to hook up somewhere and go out drinking maybe we need to decide a best place. Chelmsford aint /that/ far away and it's got tons of bars full of tottie. Don't ask me where the best are tho. Anyone? Crazy Eddie I'm looking at you.
  6. Netto?! What's that?! I bought 24 cans of Labatts for 15 quid last night. At 3.4% alcohol, you could almost class that as pop. Starting to worry my standard AFM aint up to the job. Surely Pete would've said something before he started mapping if it wasn't good enough?!
  7. Sounds good to me! Just have to make sure I put in the chip with the 3 grand rev limit and the 30 mph speed limit... I've heard about your dodgy driving, you crazy fool! ;)
  8. Probably sound like a broken record repeating what everyone else has said here... but that's a sh*t dude! On the plus side... well, not exactly plus, but it could've been much worse. At least the car still looks straight - no bent up suspension or out of line doors.
  9. I could prolly polish off in no time at all if a couple of birds were gonna soap up on my bonnet. Might just take some pics and do it when I got home later tho. Mmmmmmmmingers! It's all good ;) So is Fast Car Max Power now? Banzai's good because they seem to like everything. Don't think I've seen them utter a negative word. You know I'm trading in my chance to get my own car featured (on it's own) for the sake of the forum here?! And SE of course.
  10. If I gave you the whole story, it'd need to come out in book form. In short, my engine bust last October (I think?!?)... to be fair I left it at said place at the worst time ever cos their chief mechanic had just left shortly followed by their engine builder. So they didn't really get a chance to start work on it til the following January. Blah, blah, blah... loads more problems... stuff not getting ordered... people leaving, new people starting, then leaving... someone rather important getting ill and being dragged into hospital for a while... More recently: engine all back together being mapped at a relaxed 1 bar, 2 days before Billing - spark plug burns out and takes out piston-1. Engine all in bits again, new piston sourced, but now needs machining because it's different from the other 5. Still on a promise that it's going back together and in the car this week. Does it sound like I'm making this up?! I wish I'd kept a diary. If I get it back running anything less than 500 bhp (crank) - solid, reliable and no bullsh*t, I think I might just cry  Is 500 bhp worth 11 months and mhmhm-ousand pounds? Yes, of course! But I won't really believe it myself til I'll sitting in it with my foot on the go pedal.
  11. Think you misunderstood Stu... I'll be running *to the bar* when I get my car back - to f*cking celebrate! If it's not back for the RR day then it's taken them over a year. And I'll be running to the bar to commiserate.
  12. Dunno if they'll wanna do it if there's another mag there doing the same feature. But I've set the wheels in motion. How definite is it for Fast Car? What the heck's the number for renta-tottie? I want a tart in a tight thin catsuit bent over my bonnet. And I don't mean ChrisC ;)
  13. Easy to get that off with a bit of solvent cleaner ;) We do it all the time here. You dunno how long I've been waiting for your connectors. Cheers bud :D
  14. How the f*ck did I miss this thread?! I wanna be there! You'll all know who I am... I'll be standing at the back waiting to get on the RR... most probably with the f*cking Mondeo still! Someone say something about a mag feature? It could be a bit late, but I might be able to get it into Banzai if anyone's interested. I'm sure that road (Witham?) was supposed to do more than 500 bhp. 500 aint enough!
  15. OK, slight confusion... I've got Toca WTC on PS and for sure it's not got Donington. So I've gone and bought Toca-2 on PC for a whole 5 squids. Cheers Stuart. If anyone else is interested in the day it's being organised by the Lancer Register for 15th November... all day open pit lane for about 160 quid. Dunno if there's many / any places left tho.
  16. You can have mine at the moment... with it's 5 forged pistons and one gaping hole! At the moment I'd even be happy running your lump with a measly 400 bhp... it's gotta be better than driving this soddin Mondeo. OMG am I starting to sound like a bhp snob?!
  17. Yeah, trackday. I didn't wanna shout about it too much cos it's not something I've organised... just got invited to. I'm crapping myself to be honest so thought I'd better try to learn as much about the track as possible. I've watched the last BTCC round about 10 times now, and been taking notes. Like you said, they're running the track without the tight hairpin (Melbourne?).
  18. It does? (Toca-1 that is)... I've completed the British series and didn't see it. Maybe I'll have to cheat and download a save with all the tracks unlocked? Is Toca-2 on PSone? You got a copy? I'd go rent it but no chance of that any more.
  19. Oi you git! You can't deliver your car there yet! They aint allowed to do any more fuggin work until my car's done! I soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo want it back... it's driving me fackin NUTS! On the plus side tho, now yours is there they'll be able to pinch bits off it to get mine up and running again ;)
  20. Kind of Z related... does anyone know if there's a PSone game with Donington in it? I've got Toca-1 which doesn't. If anyone's got a copy of something I can borrow, I'd be mighty grateful. I need some virtual practice you see.
  21. No. My mate writes emails like this as standard so I'm used to it ;) It makes sense tho - it'd take way too much to examine every letter in each word. It's the same thing with predicting next words in the sequence - most of the time you've got a good idea what's coming before you see it. Clever bit of kit, the brain. Thanks for that Pete. Interesting.
  22. S'cuse the delay...
  23. Don't get me wrong... I'm a big fan of SE - I've been going there years. Take a look at my car - it's getting toward being a mobile SE catalogue. But the reason I asked how long is because maybe part of being a satisfied SE customer is taking what they say about when they can do work, and how long it'll take, and mixing it up with several handfuls of salt. There's been other customers (people here too) that don't appreciate that and expect the job to start and finish on time... perfectly reasonable you might think. Well, absolutely no disrespect to SE (they're IMO _the_ place to get serious work done)... it doesn't always work like that. The work you're talking about needs engine out, heads off and probably an engine builder to sort the cams / solid lifters / whatever. He could be a big bottleneck. I do hope, for your sake, it really goes well - you drop the car off one week (the week you should) and come back the next week to collect. But if it doesn't work out like that, try to hold off coming on here slating them for poor service. Be prepared for that 1 week job to turn into 1 month... you never know, if they only take a week it'll be a really nice surprise.
