  1. Before u return it to them make sure you delete the partitions, format it and leave it next to a strong magnet just in case ! Don't want them snooping on you're hard drive Robin
  2. Hi Mark try giving the drive a sharp tap on the side when you boot up. It may be the spindle is stuck. This is sometimes a cure for hard drives on computers that are usually left on all the time, then wont boot when switched off. If it is total mechanical failure i'm not sure there is anyway of recovering the data, maybe a specialist company could do it. Hope this helps. Robin
  3. and has made my removal of certain items from the house a condition of the sale. This statement indicates that it's written into the contract. If this is the case u won't have a leg to stand on. I thought there was a clause in standard house sale contracts that covers people leaving stuff in a house they've just sold anyway ? Robin

  5. If it's a bad line you can ask BT to turn the gain up, this should help. Robin
  6. Don't get me wrong, when the service was running it was good, just the way my termination has gone has left a rather sour taste ! There is no 12 month contract with pipex, but you have to pay £50 if you terminate before twelve months is up, unless they break the terms of their charter (as in my case ), then it's up to you to prove that the service has fallen below that stated. Quite how you prove this is beyond me. Anyway for all you guys on pipex i wish you happy surfing. Robin
  7. I was with Pipex until I lost my connection four times in two months !! No explanation, no appology, no nothing. They had the cheak to charge me a termination fee as well even though they broke their own service charter. To make matters worse they have continued to debit my account for the last four months. Their customer service is a joke as well, takes on average about 40 mins to get through to anyone. If you want my advice stay well clear even if they are cheap. Now use ntl, no problems wot soever and it's faster . Robin
  8. Have you checked the fault codes yet ?
  9. When you key on can you here the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds ?
  10. OUT refers to out of the filter, This side should be connected to the fuel rail, ie engine. It will take a while to fill the filter and fuel lines.Key on and off a few times and this should restore fuel pressure, then go for a start. There is no need to reset the ecu, doing this will only lead to the car running rough until the ecu re-maps itself. Hope this helps Robin
  11. MOST OLDER CARS ARE COVERED BY A COMPANY CALLED WARRANTY HOLDINGS. I THINK THIS IS WHO JEFF DEALS WITH. CERTAINLY HE LOOKS AFTER THE Z OF THE MD OF THE COMPANY HOPE THIS HELPS.
  12. ALSO CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITY OF AN AIR LEAK ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD.
  13. How ironic. I live just round the corner from Telford road and work for BAR i Brackley !! Had my Z a couple of months now, bit of a dog at the moment, plenty of sorting out to do before i start modding. Have to get together after Xmas as this time of year is hellishly busy for me at work. As for finding your car, this site is probably a v good place to look. 6K should buy you something reasonable. Catch ya soon Robin
  14. Newbie, where abouts in Brackley ? I'm in Bicester maybe we can hook up sometime ?
  15. and something that wasnt going to get me in debt for 10 years, HENCE the 300zx. These things are bloody expensive when they go wrong and need lots of tender loving care. Didn't stop me from buying one though:D
  16. You pay duty on goods from outside the EU
  17. Hi and welcome Sorry but poor dip lights are standard. If you search the forum you will find some solutions. I recently replaced mine with some 120W bulbs with some minor mods, but they lasted less than 2 weeks(heat build up cracks the glass ). I take it that when you say the odd time the engine wont fire means it's an intermitent fault, most of the time it fires ok ? if thats the case then don't know. As far as rims go , i'd forget them and get your z running right first, then consider 18" rims from whoever takes your fancy. Some prefer 5 spoke. Check out the rides section to see wot other people are running, see wot suits the z in your opinion. Robin
  18. this problem is caused by your z having an identity problem. It thinks it's a Ford Modeo:D :D :D aaaaahhhhhhh run away;)
  19. Not sure wether the z has one, but if it has, then it could be the inertia switch ? Dissconnect before the filter. It may be blocked, especially as the problem has got worse over time.
  20. If it's hunting at idle you possibly have an airleak on the intake somewhere . Robin
  21. Just started using ntl's 600 kb/s service after switching from pipex's 512kb's service. So far quite happy, dowload speeds seem to be slightly faster on ntl most of the time. Two things to note. First, i switched from pipex because their servers went down 6 times in two months, without any apology or compensation, infact no contact at all. Second ntl's customer service is reputed to be bloody awfull Low 20 squid is what you should be paying for 512kb/s, assuming your BT exchange is broadband enabled (if you choose to not go cable). Hope this helps Robin
  22. oops meant placed. Not sure wot he looks like in lace !!
  23. Can't see why this is a problem, u just need the right lead, assuming the din plug is actually rca. If u cant find one u could make one. RS stock all the connectors. Try contacting bob in the traders section of this forum, he's best laced to put you right. Robin
  24. john according to the link above your post pcd is 114.3, front offset is 35, rear offset as you said 42. Without being rude john, who do you work for ? Reason being, I used to know a guy called John Dixon who owned a 200 sx, not you is it ?
