  1. Does it have standard Nissan front tie bar bushes ? If so check they're not leaking/leaked the silicon jelly that they're filled with. This is a common problem on Z's. Hope this helps Robin
  2. Either the seals are swollen/damaged or there's corrosion behind the seals. A new seal kit should cure the problem. Make sure you clean any crap out of the seal groove before fitting the new seals. Lubricate them with either brake fluid or proper rubber grease when putting the calipers back together and make sure the outer dust cover is not split as I'm not sure wether these come with the seal kits It's a very easy job to do and a false economy to do just one side. Hope that helps Robin
  3. Do you use cheap non directional tyres then Steve-o ? Robin
  4. If you put the bottle of oil in a bucket of hot water for half hour or so first it pours much easier. Robin
  5. Look for date codes on seatbelts and on the back of plastic inspection covers in the boot. Robin
  6. Sounds like when the clutch was done the prop wasn't put back in the same place, i.e 90 degrees out. How much of the clutch was replaced, friction plate, pressure plate, flywheel, all of the afformentioned ? Robin
  7. Mark That makes four that I know of in Bicester, not bad for a small market town. I'm the pearlescent yellow, heavily modded one on glory farm. Robin
  8. Where abouts Mark. I only no of two other Z's in bicester, a yellow one and a black one that is just round the corner from me. Either of these you ? Robin
  9. Bicester too. Where abouts in Bicester are u Barry ? Robin
  10. Quite a few on here have TC fitted. Best to wait for a group buy as I think it's around £500 with launch control. Robin
  11. Jim did they check the cambers ? I think with 18's you need a camber correction kit to bring it back in spec. Robin
  12. Mark Hope your heart is back in it's normal place now. If you're going to drive these beasts in the winter I would seriously recommend Race Logic Traction Control. You can be so more agressive with throttle application and not have to worry to much about the car swapping ends. You also have the option to switch it off completly for big sideways action. Robin
  13. Not strictly true. HSV was part of the TWR empire and run by english blokes. Still owned by a certain T.Walkinshaw and quite a few of my old coleagues still work there :D :D :p Robin
  14. As an update I sat on the drive today and wamred the car up to normal operating temp and tried shifting and the problem was there. This surprised me as on a cold day like today without moving I wouldn't expect to put much heat into the gearbox. Oil change when I get back from Spain I think. Cheers Robin
  15. Thanks for the reply Mark, least somebody bothered. I suspect that due to the sudden onset of this problem that something is has broke. An oil change is my first course of action though, even if it just shows me what debree is in the oil. I can then run this through our spectrum analyser at work to see exactly what's in the oil. Cheers Robin
  16. Happy new year to you all. Now to the problem. The last two times I've driven me Z the gearchange has become very stiff after driving for about 10-15 miles. It's fine when cold so obviously temp related. At first I thought I might have some air in the clutch line as I changed the slave cylinder a few months back, but if I stop, turn the car off, depress the clutch and select gears it's still stiff and quite sticky, i.e if you select slowly the stick moves in jolts. This makes me think it's more box related or on the lever pivot. Anybody experienced anything similar or offer possible causes ? Cheers Robin
  17. Don't know what your on about Rich, it's nothing a bit of polish wouldn't fix !! :D :D :D Robin
  18. Another common cause is knackered rear dampers. Cheers Robin
  19. To build a robot who's movement is that fluid is a feat in itself, to operate 4 with that sort of syncronization is bloody amazing !!! Well impressed Robin
  20. do an autobox ecu diag and see what comes up. If it's all clear then it's a fair bet that it's mechanical. Robin
  21. Mazda 323f ?
  22. Mine ended up on the fire at this years Le Mans :D :D Robin
  23. Stu If it was losing its live feed wouldn't it reset to the same time every time the ignition was turned off ? i.e 12:00 Arthur, mine does this also, so you're not alone. Robin
