  1. So are we saying the listed torque in the manual is insufficiant ? Robin
  2. Hi martin Don't know if anyone on here has done it in car ( change turbos that is ) It is a bitch of a job to do though. Hope you have small hands and some old spanners you can bend to get to the more awkward fastners !!! Before you fit the new turbos make sure you flush the oil feed line Robin
  3. Yep I'm up for that. Should have Jez's old Z by then which will be cool.  Robin
  4. Nelson I don't think all manufacturers are like it. Look at the bold designs Renault have come up with in the last 3 years. Granted they may not be everybodies cup of tea, but they're certainly not plain. Robin
  5. Aaron the engine in a V6 Clio is actually made by Peugot and the gearbox derived from a Master van !!!! I don't think peak power was as high as that, more like 6400 if memory serves me right. I stand to be corrected though as it's a while ago since I last worked on one. Anybody see the one at Billing with the little supercharger on it ? As for the 350, I think it looks to much like an Audi TT, doesn't stand out enough. Robin
  6. Yeah, just need to sell my current one now. Few things need doing first though. Robin
  7. Nice one Kirbz Picking up my new Yellow one (Jez's old car ) in a couple of weeks :D :D :D :D Is the MP3 head unit you were selling still available ? if so how much mate. Robin
  8. John Wiper arms are usually tapered as well as splined. Put the nut back on but don't tighten it, put your fingers behind the arm where the splined spindle comes through, pull and give a sharp tap with a copper mallet. This should break the taper. Hope this helps Robin
  9. This technology already exists. The motor industry use it for rapid prototyping, from CAD model to part in less than 12 hours depending on the complexity. Doesn't use powder though, uses layers of resin cured by a laser. OK finished with the useless information bit now :D :D :D Robin
  10. don't panic all import Z's do this, it's a comfort thing aparently. There was a post on this not so long back do a search for more info. Robin
  11. Sorry Jim didn't read your post properly. If the code is still there that would suggest that there is still a fault on that circuit somewhere. Check for corroded terminals or a broken wire.
  12. I think you need to disconnect the battery for an hour or so and that should reset it. I stand to be corrected though. Robin
  13. No that's the relay for the fan cooling your ICE setup :D :D :D Seriously though haven't a clue. Look in the electrical section of the online manual, that should get you started. Robin

The ECU is adaptive and will take time to re learn the engines parameters but only if the ECU has been without a power supply for a while (like dissconecting the battery) Not sure how quick it re-learns though, couple of hundred miles maybe but i'm no expert on ECU's Robin
  16. Just sent my domestic assitant for chow mein. If it's any consolation I live about 35 miles away from Billing and it's lashing it down :D :D :D Know where i'd rather be ;) Gunna go and have a look tomorrow if the weather improves. Robin
  17. Cancel that, found them :D :D :D
  18. Smithy have tube torque got a website ? or have you got a contact name and number ? Robin
  19. If the big ends were worn enough to become audible you'd see a drop in oil pressure wouldn't you ? Robin
  20. I think Jock's talking about the crank pulley Robin
  21. I think we get it from RS, I can check in the morning or I can send you a tube, I have a nearly new one in front of me now. Robin
  22. Hi John Just checked Dow Cornings website and on the product spec sheet it states non melting and maintains it's consistency to 200 degrees celcius. Hope this helps Robin
  23. John How thick was the stuff from Maplins ? If its consistency was quite soft and watery it may explain why it ran out. The stuff I use (Dow Corning DC4 ) is fairly stiff. If you give me an address I'll post you a tube if you like Cheers Robin
