  1. cool, thanks mate. Cant make tonight unfortunately. Will give you a ring sometime this week to come and pick bits up. Saw you were on xbox live last night. Was going to invite you into a Forza game so we could race our zeds but couldnt work out how to do it.

righto. put me on the list and i should be able to let you know the week before. hopefully you will have more than 15 by then so i wont be letting anyone down if i pull out.
  3. Looks brilliant mate. How did you do it? Can i borrow your bits to do it if you have them in London? I have been meaning to do this for ages since i got clear side repeaters and got clear rear indicators, even got the silvertec bulbs ready, but just too tight to buy the tools!

I am interested. cant say for 100% sure because i am not able to plan my life that far in advance at the moment. Will they just be bunging our cars on the rollingroad or is there some tuning included? I wouldnt mind making sure my boost controller is correctly set.
  5. Not me but i think i have seen the same car coming onto the M40 at Bicester a few weekends ago.
  6. easy to get to but can be a pig to remove and replace if it is only on a jack because it is weighty and a bit of strain when you are lying on your back.
  7. just used my new Autosol for the first time and i must say it is fantastic. It removed the grime just like you see happening in those cheesey TV ads for cleaning products! one question that might seem really daft but is it worth cleaning the inside surface of the exhaust too (obviously only the very end bit that you can get to) or is it completely pointless as it will grime up immediately and will have to absorb alot of crud in your cloth?
  8. fair play. Putney it is. Any plans were to meet?
  9. good for me but dunno if i will be able to stick around for too long. I guess Hammersmith would be central-ish, there are plenty of nice pubs by the river but dont think any have car parks but the roads might be free parking by that time?? Or Barnes might be easier but i dont know that area for pubs very well. Any ideas?
  10. sounds good! thurs and fri are out for me though.
  11. I am keen to get a conzult now i have found the socket and got my JD chip in. Any good times for you in the evenings this week?
  12. check that it is not flooded. take the fuel pump fuse out and turn it a couple of times to dry the plugs. Then hold the throttle open by jamming a screwdriver down the whole in the cam cover to hold the cable. Leave for a good hour or so to breathe out and stick the fuel pump fuse in and give it a try. If it fires keep the revs high and take it for a drive until you are happy it has sorted itself out.
  13. i keep getting a code 13 coolent temp sensor. from searches it seems that the course of treatment is give it a clean up and if that doesnt work replace the sensor/connector. tried the clean up and didnt work. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=94431&highlight=ecu+coolant My question is what actually do you replace.....the connector plug or the actual sensor that screws into the top pipe or both. If it is the connector only how do you splice the wiring of the new one where the old one is? If it the sensor is it easy to remove it without snapping, shearing or threading anything? I imagine it would be held tightly to stop leaks + the odd bit of corrosion + soft ally. What are the prices and where do you get them? Also, while i am doing this i might try to splice the single sensor between the standard signal to the ECU and provide a signal to my aftermarket gauge as i have been talking about in this thread. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=96441 Does anyone have anymore views about how to run 2 instruments off one sensor?
  14. are you doing your gearbox oil change in London mate? I might pop round to see how it is going as i am planning to change mine someday.
  15. autosol bought! thanks for the tip. Will give it a blast on my alloys too
  16. I have neglected my exhaust a bit when it has come to cleaning my car. I sometimes wipe the sponge over it but it makes no difference to the exhaust pipe and makes the sponge really dirty. I know there must be proper methods and proper product to clean and polish up the exhaust and just need a bit of guidance and recomendation from you guys.
  17. Just to get this right in my head. - Remove the whole AIV solenoid and connector. - Where the AIV vac line tees into the boost gauge line just blind off the AIV line so the boost line now goes straight to the balance bar. [AIV]-----.-----[balance Bar] | [sensor]--' >---.------[balancebar] | [sensor]--' - Leave the EGR unit intact as it is. Is that right????
  18. trouble is my new top hose looks like this ie it hasnt got enough straight length to get one of those adaptors in.
  19. has anyone taken the signal from the stock sensor to feed and aftermarket temp gauge and still kept the stock signal to ECU and stock gauge intacted. This would seem the best way to go (if possible) rather than drilling new holes in the top pipe. the connectors for the stock and aftermarket system are not the same so it is not a case of un-pluging on and plugging in the other. I guess it might call for some techy stuff to operate both gauges from one sensor and not effect the signal to either system. The aftermarket temp sensor i have seems to have 4 wires (they might not all be in use) but the stock sensor just the two blade connectors. Does anyone know on here about sensor signal outputs?
  20. What have you removed so far? I took out my AIVs at the weekend and closed off the exhaust lines but i wasnt sure what to do with the vacuum lines when i traced them back to the solenoid. Could you talk me through what parts of the vac system you removed. I have seen the aussie step-by-step but it isnt clear when it comes to removing the vac lines.
  21. it is the same as the fellas on here http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=EM&Product_Code=buddy_club_hose_adapter the fabrication route sounds expensive. I was wondering if i could somehow tap a signal from the stock temp sensor that is in the ally hose from the block. I know people say that sensor is rubbish but is it the sensor that is rubbish or the stock guage? will still want and need (for temp to ECU) to keep the stock but is it possible to tap a signal of it in parallel?
  22. I have just brought a set of samco silicon top and bottom rad hoses to replace my leaky standard rubber ones. I have an aftermarket water temp gauge that used to have the sensor going into the top hose (hot water out of engine). As the samco top hoses has quite a pronounced bend in the top pipe (presumably for thermal expansion or turbulent mixing purposes) it would have been impossible to fit the adaptor holding the temp sensor into this pipe because it would not fit properly and be leaky. I fitted it to the bottom hoses instead as this has big straight lengths which makes it easy to fit. i realised i would have to figure out the temp drop through the rad (which looks like being between 10-15C at operating temp) and add this to the display temp to get the engine temp. But i am not really satified with this. it takes along time for the rad out temp to reach a stable value (the radiator metal must absorb alot of heat and take along time to reach a stable temp between the air and water sides) when im sure the engine temp will be up to normal operating and it is just not very helpful to know the temperature of water coming out of the radiator.! Is there another place or way i can fit the sensor to the engine out stream. Is there a different adapator or collar i can use that is not too long for the bends in the top hose? I know an oil temp readout would be more useful but the gauge has an oil pressure readout and i have got used to the engine operating characteristic using the the engine water temp readout.
