  1. 9k you must be off your trolly lol (thats a joke), I paid 4k for mine 1990 with full kit, alloys, uprated suspension engine etc, just needed the front bumper tidying up and the wing mirrors replaced, o.k. my clutch has now gone but the total cost to me for a 400bhp fully kitted silver twin turbo manual is around 6k. It even has relatively low miles with some history and ofcourse the best colour lol silver ! For 9k I would want at least a K maybe L reg in sparkling condition and mechanically sound with history ! Have you thought that a Fairlady is an import and will be a lot more for insurance, a uk car will be cheaper to insure and you would probably get more history with it to boot ! If you have the money burning a hole then get the car checked out properly by a fellow zedder on here or at the very least get an AA, RAC check done as its still a heap of cash. I would still try and lower the price though, maybe you could show them a few ads of Zeds that age and condition, Im sure you will find loads around the 5k mark ! Your choice though and rant over. Olly.
  2. I think mine just snapped as I took the box off and laid it on the floor awkwardly, Is this a common fault then ? Do they break easily ? DAVEW when you say you went through 2 of them, did they break while you was using the vehicle ? Give us the story please ? Cheers, Olly.
  3. Not if you do it from underneath !!!!! Whilst removing my gearbox for a new clutch install I found it easier to jack up the car and reach up above the gearbox you can see the bottom of the gearstick, that way its very easy to undo the bolt from there and then pull the gearstick out the top !!! Olly.
  4. Cheers for that Konrad, but I went into Nelson Man Della and they have got me one for tomorrow at the alarming price of £5.80 plus vat. Not too bad really, I thought being part of the box it would be an expensive bolt but five quid I can live with ! Olly.
  5. I have been fitting a new clutch and on taking off the gearbox have found that the bolt which the clutch arm swings on has snapped off the gearbox ! The bolt with a rounded head that goes inside the gearbox and allows the arm to swing on it ! Does anyone know how much these are or where I can get one, other than main dealer as they probably cost an arm and a leg ? Andy Z didn't have one although he ws extremely helpful and searched for ten minutes to try and find me the number of someone who was breaking a manual and may have one, if anyone knows of this breakers in Southampton I believe, please let me know ? I must have my Zed back on the road asap ! Olly.
  6. I'll have one, let me know when and how to pay and howmuch exactly ? Cheers, Olly.
  7. Thanks guys for all the help ! Very True Devil I found them with my hand at the top and u can just put a 14mm spanner on them and turn them easy enough, if they were very tight I might have had more problems with leverage but they came undone with my mighty strength ! Cheers again fellas and thanks for the offer of coming down Robtor ! Olly.
  8. I have removed everything to enable the removal of the gearbox to replace me clutch, but does anyone know how the hell you get on the top two bellhousing bolts as I can't even see them let alone undo them ? All help greatly appreciated ! Olly.
  9. Also check your vacum hoses for splits or make sure they are all on as this happened to me, funny idle boosting o.k. till later up the rev range and then a sort of holding back, it was because one of my vacuum hoses had split creating an air leak ! Good luck. Olly.
  10. I was there too, silver 300 with full bodykit but damaged front bumper ! Very loud you may have heard it ! Them two multi flip z's were very nice and done a nice tandem show of how to steer from the rear ! A great day I thought. Olly.
  11. Mine slips all the time now even in first or second gear if I put my foot right down ! I have adjusted the pedal so it engages fully but still slips ! I want my power back ! Olly.
  12. I found a service bulletin and recall from Nissan about this and it states that the earlier 1990-1991 Clutch Master Cyclinders are poo and the fault causes the clutch to slip, just wanted to know if anyone else had this and changed to the later one with success ! I want an uprated clutch anyway so if anyone has one they don't need for cheap I would be very interested ? Olly.
  13. I have been getting a slipping clutch recently and was gonna change it for an uprated one but someone mentioned that on 1990-1991 models the master cyclinder was poo and if you change it to the later one it can stop the slipping ! Anyone know anything about this andd if its worth me uprating to the later master cyclinder before getting an uprated clutch to see if it is causing it ! Any help greatly appreciated ! Olly.
  14. That link don't work................... Only joking !!!
  15. I know but it is similar, just that the Z has two one on each side ! I'm sure someone else has already fitted them in the states with good results but I cannot remember where I saw it ! I would be willing to try them though if someone had a couple lying around and let you guys know the results ? Olly.
  16. Bazz, Does that mean you have an uprated clutch for sale as I am definately after one ? Sorry to jump in there but just in case as I'm looking for one ! I would definately get the fuelling sorted if you haven't already done so and are running more than standard boost ! Or leave it at standard boost till everything is on properly and working and then get it mapped all at the same time, saves doing it a few times as you add extra bits and they'll only charge you once ! Running lean is very very risky on a turbocharged engine and detonation is sometimes hard to hear or notice ! For small raises in boost any of the major tuners like Jim Wolf Technology, Mines, Stillen etc do a chip which will remove the speed and boost limiter and adjust the fuelling and timing for a little extra boost ! I have a Mines VX-ROM for when I first raised the boost and now I want more I have added an S-AFC II to give me fine adjustment of the fuel map and will be adding an ITC to adjust the timing slightly ! Olly.
  17. A few have been fitted to 200sx's in the past with great results from everyone who used them. They even have a right up on the site on how to fit one to a 200sx as an example ! No one has ever said they don't do anything but good but the noise can be annoying ! If someone wants to buy them I will put them on mine to test if you like !!! I love being a guinea pig for anything ! Olly.
  18. dont go overboard with the lacquer though a couple of thin coats and some buffing will do nicely, the more paint on, the hotter the amp will get !
  19. Buy Mac's old wheels and roll your arches an inch outwards, job done !
  20. Homebase have loads of different chrome "z" badges that u can use !
  21. Its a purge valve for the nitrous, squirts out releasing any air in the system !
  22. So I could very well have uprated tub's !!! How can I tell for sure I can get them from underneath but whats the standard a/r.
  23. That looks like the babies !!! Do they come with uprated turbos normally or do people uprate the downpipes on their own, (wishfull thinking that I have a set of uprated turbos !) lly.
  24. I have four, as it exits the turbo on each side it has two pipes each side (downpipes) going into a single pipe which joins onto the test pipes ! I thought they maybe upgraded and possibly the turbos as well ? Olly.
  25. Do I have uprated downpipes or are they all two into one. I looked at my downpipes when fitting cat replacement pipes and they have two outlets on the turbo side one for the wastegate and one for the exhaust. Is that normal or are they uprated ? All help greatly appreciated ! Olly.
