  1. Hi Tom, Nice to see someone else doing this..... I stopped on 20th Jan after being rushed into Broomfield hospital for emergency surgery...... Not had one since coming out last thursday...... It's amazing after spending time next to 2 really nice guys with throat cancer, Just how you realise you don't want to end up like them.... I watched one guy have a Laryngectomy and wouldn't want this for anyone..... He made me promise to give up and now I want to do it for my kids and everyone who loves me..... Good on you Tomo..... I'm with you on this......
  2. Happy belated Birthday Osty1............:happybday::happybday:
  3. So the car was parked, the third party drove into it due to their own poor driving skills. You have photo's of the car just prior to the damage the third party caused, showing their was no damage prior to the accident and these have date and time stamp? You have photo's of the damage the third party has done. The insurance company is trying to get out of paying out for your damage as they are the same for both the claimant and third party. It sounds to me like they are not taking care their customer (yourself), instead they are attempting to get out of their obligation to put you back to the same position you were before the accident. You are not asking to be put in a better position as the damage was not there prior to the accident and can be proven by your photographs...... Is the £400 after they have taken off the excess amount or before? What Excess do you have? What is the total cost of repair? As you can claim the Excess back through legal cover from the third party..... You could always put in a letter to the insurance company with these questions / points..... This is the sort of thing I would send...... probably wrong..... but thats me.....lol 1) Are A.......l looking after my interests as they agreed to when I took out my policy, had the third party that drove into my 'Parked Car' Not also been one of your clients? 2) Is this an attempt for A......l to avoid their financial obligation to put me back to the same financial position I was prior to your other client managing to hit my Parked car because both parties have policies with you? 3) Is there a reason why the clear photographs taken just prior to your client driving into my car are being disputed as evidence of my vehicles condition prior to the accident? 4) As my photographs clearly show there was NO damage to my vehicle prior to the accident. I require A.........l to provide evidence using these photographs of the damage you are relying on to dispute my claim. 5) I require copies of all evidence that you are relying on to make your decision in this claim, that my vehicle was damaged prior to the accident? As Bird said, get the final decision letter and just explain the situation to the ombudsman as simply as possible with before and after photo's..... Keep it as simple and to the point as possible...... Hope it all gets sorted out soon......... Russ

  5. Right put me down to go... Will be bringing the wife and 2 kids.... does anyone know what there is for the kids to do? My son's Will be 6 and 1 by the show.... I need to get the z ready for its first mot in 6 years, taxed and insured.... I cant wait for this year's shows...... First chance to get to a show in year's...... and meet you all..... finally....lol Time to do some serious overtime in the next few months to pay for the z to be put on the road for the year..... lol
  6. I didn't know you spoke martian..........lol
  7. Apparently, he died at a charity event for the Philippines typhoon relief effort ....... All I can think about is his family and close friends..... They must be in pieces right now.... Another tragic loss of life, a superb actor and by all accounts a very nice guy..... My condolences to his family and friends.......
  8. I used 12 pieces, but have a T top LWB.... Boot took about 4 pieces..... Floor pan was 2 either side, roof was offcuts, rear qtrs were 1 cut in sections for both sides, rear seat section was done in strips 1 sheet, doors 1 sheet each.... I know some people cover all the metalwork, but I was told to do it in sections as you don't need to smother the entire panel.... Just make sure it is cleaned properly before applying it and warm it up with hairdryer to get a nice bond.... I used a wallpaper roller to press it down on edges.... I used Dynamat extreme and got 2 packs as that is all I could get at the time.... they were about £70 a pack...
  9. Did you fill it with diesel???.......lol My guess for the haribo is stereo set to radio 4 ..........lol Hope this gets sorted out quickly for you Rich and it is something cheap and easy to fix..... Russ
  10. I have tried a few, but always end up back with Dynamat...... Just done the whole Z with it..... I will let you know how it sounds next year when she gets on the road......lol Cost about £140 for the whole car done, got it from ebay... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DYNAMAT-SUPERLITE-BULK-KIT-12-sheets-SOUND-DEADNING-/260845621822?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3cbb9c523e Brown bread is good stuff as well..... Russ
  11. Hi Dave, just finally got on here after spending every minute spare at work..... So glad you are okay...... If you are going to rebuild then I have the front bumper reinforcement piece and a pair of clear front indicators you can have gratis...... towards getting her back on the road.... Russ
  12. Happy belated Birthday Dave.....:happybday:
  13. I see a helicoil repair coming...... or one of these? http://www.acmeindustrial.com/keylockinsert.htm
  14. Hi Rich, you missed 3 el presidente's being deposed, a short spell under a dictator and now order has been restored...... Oh Funky Si is now our supremo and Richard and Gary are under house arrest due to drinking all the beer for Christmas in November and not sharing with the rest of us, oh and Car.Mad has given up body kits and fibreglass and become a florist...........lol Not missed much........lol
  15. Hi Dave, If your going to go the crimp route then get a good set of ratchet crimpers like these.....http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/crimping-pliers-ratchet?da=1&TC=SRC-ratchet+crimpers It will give you a better connection.... as the cheap ones you get are useless...... Russ
  16. DO NOT CRIMP...... Please, Please, Please do not crimp the new wires on as you are asking for trouble..... It is relatively easy to solder the new ones on.... I would even do it for you..... it took me an afternoon to get the wires nice and neat, correct lengths for tucking them away and all heat shrink covered and looking lovely...... Crimp connectors are fine if you can't solder, but I personally wouldn't recommend it for things like coil packs and injectors...... I used to fit alarms, audio systems, etc..... I have used both crimps and soldering for various things and will use crimps inside a vehicle, but try to avoid using them externally when ever possible...... But that is just my 2p worth.......lol Russ
  17. Happy Birthday........:happybday::happybday:
