Tried to start her and found the battery has died yet again.......... Now going to fit a secondary battery for the alarm system and audio only and try to make a secondary alternator mounting where the air con pump used to live.......... I need more battery power and charging power........and to find the power drain....... guessing it is the ancient Clifford alarm system.........lol

I take it the frazzles didn't swing it for me then???......lol

That is easy....... 4 channel amp hidden away with a bluetooth audio input device connected to it.......... hell you could even run a3.5mm jack to 2 RCA adapter from an iPod, mobile phone, etc..... directly into it.....

Right......... today I found a spare bottom pulley / harmonic balancer and replaced the one that had become 2 separate pulleys...... I noticed that there was a knock on the crank when moved by hand and started getting nervous...... Big End???? Nope......... It was the 4 bolts holding the flywheel to the torque converter....... removed the starter and metal brace pieces and re torqued them....... Now the clatter I thought was the crank pulley is gone........YAYYYYY!!!!! All I have to do now is sort out the stalling issue....... not fun with an auto box......... every time i let off the gas at junctions after giving it gas the revs drop to zero....... I am guessing boost leak??? Plus I can't seem to get past 7 psi..... lack of boost as well....... even with profec b II at 100% I seem to have sod all boost.........

Hi all, as some of you will know I thought I had a 91 degree out timing issue...... well I think I found the problem after a very loud noise.... sounded like a box of bolts rattlihg round under the engine..... thought I had done the bottom end then It just dissapeared.. today I jacked her up and found the altenator bolt hanging out and the harmonic balancer spit in 2 pieces.... The inner part is tight on the crank, but the outer turns freely with the altenator belt on and independently of the middle section.... is this what happens when the harmonic balancer dies? Any advice?

exhaust / cat?? Have you still got the catalytic converter take off pipes going to the AIV's......? Could be one of them vibrating on floor..... ?? or loose heat shield??

The thought crossed my mind........ but then I decided Karma would deal with this..... along with me telling their customers what they did...... ROFL..... flaming hot kebab...... lol

T'was paid over phone before they let the recovery driver pick up the car, so I couldn't see that the bits were missing till it returned....... Manager blamed workshop, workshop admitted they were told to use my car for parts, management went into hiding for a year or so...... In the end I just told every customer that came into the car spares shop I ran, what had happened to me and a let them pass the word not to use them...... This is why recommendations of good reliable companies is a must with a Z..... For instance...... Jimmer, Jeff TT (Mr Z World) , Mike at MJP, Luke at Z centre, Noel - TurboNoz, Phutumuch + loads of others on here........ I Can't speak highly enough of the help I have been given and the superb quality of the workmanship + customer service of these guy's and others on here........ restores faith in descent workmanship and honest traders / businesses......

I had car low loadered there with no front or rear bumpers...... and interior missing as it was in for leather trimming....... Apparently someone mistook it for a breaker they had in their yard and sold the parts......... I had low loader pick it up for me and drop it to my work...... I was ****** off that they admitted the mistake........ then spent a year telling me the manager wasn't there when I popped in or telephoned..... then he had left.... then they knew nothing about it......

Ahhhh I remember them...... took my Z to them for over fuelling...... got a £400 bill without warning or calling me...... Then when I went to collect my car someone had used it for parts for other customers cars.......... Never did actually get them to cough up for my clear indicators, side repeaters, rear lights, etc...... that they took off and sold to other customers........ NEVER went back there!!!! Years of phone calls and letters and they just refused to sort it out, then denied it ever happened....... I am sooooo glad I can do things myself to save some money......... until I find I did it wrong and have to redo the job again.........lol

Thats weird..... have also had similar sound and sticking starter a couple of times lately....... will have to check this after my holiday....

I would have driven up to see you all........ But shall be by a pool with a nice cerveza in hand.......lol Even has my name on it.....lol Plus my Z now sounds like someone has poured a bucket of bolts into the engine when you start her sometimes...... I thought I had thrown a rod or something, then disappeared and smooth and quiet..... then starts again later..... Need to get her on ramps again and see what I have done wrong yet again.....lol Have a good meet...... Russ

I have done the plenum pull a few times now and it gets easier every time as it become second nature.....lol I took everyones advice and removed and binned all the pipework under the plenum..... all rubber hose connectors and metal pipes.... this get rid of loads of joins and pipes you can't get to...... I re-routed the vacuum pipes and also got rid of the EGR valve with a kit from Luke at Z centre, I got my plenum water bypass silicone hoses at the same time........

Jeezzz Si, You got it up on 2 wheels already?..........lol I was also disappointed that the speedo is only in the middle and not wedged over to the right as far as it will go, just for testing and review purposes mind you....... :whistling: Have a good time Si........
