  1. Point taken........lol...... Thanks for all the work you put into organising things Steve...... didn't get to say hello as I didn't have a clue what you looked like and everyone just kept telling me I had just missed you when I asked......lol
  2. Ahhhh, you were the guy on crutches....... I was the one in that picture... right at back of field behind silver 350..... white sleeves...... sort of hiding.....lol
  3. Yep they had, but now have the annoying bing bong at 70mph+........ was annoying all the way too and from Japfest...... had to crank up stereo to mask it.....:whistling: Trying to work out way to kill the noise for high speed only??
  4. I will be bringing a gazebo to the next meet I go to anyway, just in case it rains like this time........ gives me somewhere to shelter as well as clean my Z...... lol By the time we had got there and parked, it looked like I had gone cross country with all the mud, grass and leaves...... But then it rained for a bit and it looked shiny again.......well for a bit......
  5. I got there with Shortz and we sat for 3 hours in queue and finally got in about 9.30-10...... Parked over back of field next to the 240's and 280's...... Didn't know who was who....lol I did get to meet nncferreira and have a good chin wag...... lol I am gutted I didn't get to speak to slick pete and bob genie, I didn't even get to talk to steve burns and say thank you for organising things..... I did get to meet a couple of owners who were really nice..... Next time we have a meet, can we have a gazebo or something for members of both clubs and forums to meet up at and use for base camp, chats and drinks???
  6. It would have been nice to meet you mate...... We were wondering where people where...... and also who owned which Z........ lol
  7. What I cannot understand is with the new computerised online, now done in real time that they have decided to do........ why can't they break the 12 months tax down and divide the amount by 365 days and do it on a daily rate? They no longer need to do it at the end of a month as there will be no tax discs to display saying valid until the end of a certain month....... That was always their excuse as to why they refund only full months before! The only possible reason they have is to rip car owners off for the remaining days of the month for both the seller and the buyer!! They would as 'PhilP' said take 15 days from each party, gaining the DVLA a months worth of extra tax for every sale........ and that is wrong..... They could even do a set time period..... say I want to tax my Z for 7 months for the show season...... their system could easily do the calculation..... £225 a year, divide by 365 = 30 days a month for 7 months = 210 days 210 x 0.62 = £130.20 Everyone is a winner as we would be happy to tax our cars for 7 months instead of the 6 or 12 months choice, so the DVLA gets an extra months revenue......win win!!
  8. Ah, the stunning white Z........ We were trying to work out who was who with the cars.......lol It is always hard to meet up with people when you have no idea what they look like........lol
  9. I used parcels2go before and they were reasonable a few times, but expensive others....... depended on size for my needs......
  10. So.......... what happened to everyone and where did you get to???????? I know 3 members definately went...... Me, Neil and slick Pete........ roll call of anyone else that got soaked....... lol
  11. We tried to work out what you looked like as we thought it was your car........lol
  12. Took out the Mph to Kph converter..... For some reason outer ring is MPH and Inner KPH, but with converter inner works at MPH...... So will try tomorrow and check it is MPH now.... lol While I was there I repainted the dial surround silver and added a load of LED's to back light the dials..... Looks soooo much better now.... I checked oil and water, put my tools, spare PTU, TPS and CPS in boot, Jump leads, timing strobe, multimeter, oil, cleaning products, etc..... getting ready for Japfest run...... lol Not finished, nowhere near ready to show, still has veilside kit on, Audio thrown in for trip......... but coming anyway.......... Tomorrow I will be getting someone else to clean her...... This is the first time I have trusted someone to polish her apart from me in 13 years of ownership..... But just don't have the time to do it myself and thumb still tender from being dislocated by someone at work....... lol
  13. I got mine from these guys on ebay..... but you will need to use a 30A or bigger relay to switch the +12v to the fan itself....... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Savage-Latching-Push-Button-FAN-Switch-CHEAPEST-/110402785693?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19b484d19d
  14. Fitted boy racer stripe to hide dodgy paintwork on bonnet, fitted carbon fibre wrap to hide more dodgy paintwork on boot lid, fitted new Sony head unit and remote, fitted bluetooth receiver, cleaned under bonnet a bit, checked oil and coolant levels, fitted my 4 point racing harnesses to drivers side, removed rear screen seal, cleaned it and refitted it...... Not much done today as have dislocated right thumb slowing me down.........lol
  15. If nobody minds can we arrange to meet up somewhere on the way ???? Is there a time and place everyone meets from the forum on the way, petrol station, etc....? I will be lonely driving on my own........:crying:
  16. I got full set from tool station and cheap as chips....... lol http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Plumbing/Washers%20&%20Fixings/O%20Ring%20Kit/d20/sd2703/p80033
  17. I went for a drive to try and find a woodruff key to fit bottom pulley and couldn't find the right size..... I also popped in to local graphic company and got some nice racing stripes to cover the peeling lacquer on the bonnet for Japfest....... lol It will look mk1 escort mexico'ish....... lol Is Funky Si going??? I know I will get some stick..........lol But should look better than paint all peeling off and primer showing through as it looked like a giant bird poo........
  18. Hi Terry and all the London and South East members...... Just wondered who is going to Japfest this year and if we have anything planned for either a convoy or a rendezvous point for members???? If not can we arrange something please?? Thanks.... Russ
  19. Could be good for the progressive braking...... harder you brake the more that lights up...... On the down side...... I wouldn't want to have to replace a damaged tail light....... whole unit would cost a fortune......
  20. yep..... definitely cylinder 1...... Going to try znut's theory of key coming out of bottom pulley when i installed it as it was getting late and dark when i did it.......
  21. I did put them in money bag, like I do with all the bolts, washers, grommets, etc....... But moved 3 times since and they are missing...... I will blame the wife for losing them, like she blames me for everything...........lol
  22. I'm never that bloody lucky........ lol I must have one somewhere as I broke 3 engines........ Just need to find where I put them......lol
  23. I did think it was weird....lol I shall pull fan and rad saturday and check the bottom pulley.......... can't find the key in my box of bits....... If i did forget it may need to find one..... I used to have loads of them in motor factors when I worked there..... any ideas where I can get one???
  24. Hi all, well I am still trying to get to the bottom of the 91 degree out reading from 2 timing lights...... The car doesn't pull as i would expect from a TT and it stalls in reverse and when rev's drop quick if you have to come off boost and stop quickly..... Might be unrelated but thought I would throw it out there....... Can a timing belt throw out the ignition timing so it reads as 91 degrees out and not hit valves and pistons????? interference engines I have worked on before don't usually like having the belt on wrong and self destruct at less than this I thought?? Option 1 is buy new Nissan OEM belt and just suck it up and strip her this weekend and fit it making sure the marks are right and I didn't mess up last time...... Option 2 is, erm....... any idea's??
  25. Well Glad you got that one sewn up........:whistling:
