Qn: Off the lights...
Whats the quickest way to launch an AUTO Zed off the lights? I've come up with the following methods: 1. Right foot on brake, then right foot on throttle. 2. Left foot on brake, right foot on throttle as left foot lifts. 3. Right foot on throttle in neutral, flick gear to drive. I've only tried 1. I'd imagine 3 would destroy the gearbox? Suppose 2 might work well if done well, kind of like reaching a biting point? This is purely for theory's sake you understand :) ! Any thoughts? Cheers Pete

I see a silver 350Z driving from Leamington - Southam in Warks every morning, so they have obviously arrived. I've flashed at the driver twice now but no response - they clearly dont recognise a fellow Z-Car  Pete

New 2nd car!
Having just spent a week driving to Kidderminster and back every day for work, in the mud and snow and spending £150 on petrol and putting umpteen hundred miles on the Zed I've bought a nice sensible car for this purpose. Bought a bargain 1994 Fiesta 1.3 Auto(!!) down at the auctions, driving this about really makes me appreciate the Zed!! :D :D :D I would post some pics but I've convieniently misplaced my camera ;) Just spent 2 hours cleaning the Zed, looks gorgeous and hopefully reducing the mileage I put on it should keep it that way - one weeks driving the zed this week and I couldn't even read the rear numberplate for the dirt   Do most Zed owners have a daily driver? Clean exhausts?
How much are these O2 sensors? Is it an easy DIY job? It's gotta be worth doing if petrol consumption can go down that much :) Stuart - my pipes looked like that 2 weeks ago, now they are black as the night. Good job mate! I'm spending a week at a Nissan maindealers in a couple of weeks so I'll get some more advise. But they are not touching the car LOL  ! Will also check the zedworld site, cheers Pete

Clean exhausts?
Hi Dunno if this is normal but each time I come to clean me Zed (weekly) the insides of the exhausts (mongoose quads) are black with soot/carbon - is this normal? Its been de-catted if thats relevant. I'm going to get some proper cleaning stuff for it as scrubbing it was v tiring on the old arms  . What cleaning fluids do people use? Cheers Pete

I was flashed by a bloody Gatso!! :(
I bought a guidebook on how to avoid fines/points a while back after I got 3 points  . In hindsight I wouldn't have admitted guilt, there's plenty of techniques, sample letters and real cases which you can use to help you if you get the dreaded letter. I also advises on what to do if you get stopped by Mr Plod. Its all legal etc and not dodgy - just tells you about loopholes and your rights. The main bit which sticks in my mind is the section about "your right to defend yourself against prosection" - the police have to supply you with, if you request it, all camera calibration proof and loads of documents proving all their equipment is legal and works perfectly. There are loads of conformities they have to stick to, and if they don't then they've got no chance in court. The point here is the police must provide you with all this info at their expense, which dwarfs the amount of any fine they might collect - they know this and will drop the case in many instances :) . If anyone wants a copy of the book (its not that big) PM/email me and just cover postage and I'll send a photocopy. Its good reading even if you dont use it! Cheers Pete
