  1. Yep cheers Stu, the angle i changed it to (points a bit more downwards) is the only possible angle i could fit it in. Think it'll be fine, will have a meddle with the headlight in-between panel jobbie on saturday, might try adding a couple of rubber washers for the bottom bit. Thanks Pete
  2. D'oh! :D:D:D LOL! Have half a shandy on me then! Yep it was for AndyZ  Pete
  3. Cheers Berks, the little rubber rings (that slip over the nobbles on the bumper) do move around a bit so that might be the problem. The cooler's not moved *that* much, I'm just a bit concerned about putting pressure on the oil pipes etc? There's a part (kind of looks like the EGR valve on my last car) on the lower left of the cooler which now isn't sitting straight like it was. Maybe I'm just being a perfectionist :D. Also I cleared a Ferrero Rocher wrapper and loads of leaves out of the fan :D which has gotta add 50 BHP ;) And where's my goosehonk? Cheers Pete
  4. Hi Stuart, its an *autobox* oil cooler (I dont think I made it v clear :) ) - got the info off Tony when I bought it. The invoice says 10mm BORE H/D COOLER £145 net, if that sheds any light? Any info on the other probs anyone? Cheers Pete
  5. Hey all I've fitted a Stillen intake this afternoon :D but had trouble actually fitting it in the space. My zed's got an uprated oil cooler radiator jobbie (see attachment) which takes up more room than normal. The cone just sqeezed in but is pushed up hard against the top of the rad - I had to pull the rad slightly towards the bumper to let the cone in, now the rad's at a slight angle :( Is this going to create any problems? Any experience of this?? Problem 2 - getting the cover (with badge on) to sit straight -grrr! When the screws are tight it's wonky, when looser it rattles. It was fine before  . Otherwise - feels good :D, a couple of times when driving it felt *much* quicker than before (esp at higher speeds), other times just the same. Pick-up seems slightly quicker too at slow speeds :). Also, I now have a pair of K&N panel filters if anyone wants them, dunno what they're worth? They are in perfect nick. Cheers Pete :)
  6. :D :D But will it still have your old Beegees and Carpenters hits you stored on it Matty?
  7. Being invisible isn't big or clever...:) and some of these feeble excuses are unacceptable, and clearly made up!
  8. Whoa there  !!! - where did you come from!! :D
  9. Come on then! What everyone's excuse for being sat on their pc at...err....11:30 on a Friday night? :D :D I want explanations from the following: Ajay, AndyZ, bluntbrother, brittonc, Clarkey, Dave Marley, Eric Manktelow, jaffa, keith s, kevin, Matty, MikeGroves, mtrotter, pete shrimp, Petey, raydetinu, regul8er, scoops, TonyC, Van300, vijay, ZED, Zimon. Oh shit - I'm there. Well marriage means I have no nightlife, there, whats your excuses? :D;) Pete
  10. Been thinking the same thing.... where's the turbos????
  11. okay - a couple more questions on the same topic :) - Looking at head units, the specs say eg 4x50W - what does this relate to? Presume it must be speakers x max wattages but isn't that a bit low - or is that where you'd need an amp to raise output? - "pre-outs" - whats this? Are they important for a standard set-up? Keith - yeah I went to look at your car when it was Matty's but couldn't sort the money out . Nevermind - mine's red so therefore is faster :D Matty - you are obsessed! But I hope you and your old MP3 player can reunited once again in perfect harmony :D;) I know it's been missing you... Cheers Zedders... Pete
  12. Just wondering how it recognises naughty words? And if i can trick it!? wrisTWATch s****horpe I await the results :D Pete
  13. Are you quoting yourself Zimon?! Isn't that a bit like masturbation?? :D  :D
  14. Same thing happened to mine with - fan on and off. Caused the car to stall and not restart when warm. I replacing the missing connector clip on the temp sensor (left connector on coolant pipe at front of engine) and that sorted it :D Sometimes its the simplest of things... good luck mate Pete
  15. Hey Berks - I've seen the same one - he lives in Leamington. A mate pointed it out round the corner from his house, he drives towards Southam to work cos I've passed him a number of times, I even flashed my headlights a couple of occasions when in the Zed but no response  . God I sound like a stalker :D:D:D:D Very nice, but there's something not quite right about it  . Strange rear - needs a spoiler or something. Cheers Pete
  16. No its bad if it doersn't happen, all is good mate :D Pete
  17. That is harsh mate   . Something is really wrong with our system! If you'd had you licence taken off you for speeding etc you could dispute it in court. This situation almost seems worse  . Who did you speak to at the DVLA? Ring again and ask to speak to someone higher up, you don't want to instantly believe the first person who answers, for the sake of the hassle it will cause. Or write a letter? Try the Citizens Advice Bureau? V frustrated for you mate! Pete
  18. Exactly my thinking, the 300zx is a classy car and it shall remain so! Keith: thanks for the offer mate :) , I'll drop you a shout when I buy some bits! I'm sure theres some drinks in it for you! No showing off your MP3 wizardry tho, nah only joking - course you can! Did you know yours was the 1st zed I'd been in? Ahhh memories... Cheers Pete

  20. Thanks Rob, yeah I think I'd have a go at it myself, can't be too bad. So does the sub just hit the lower notes? And how would this be wired in? - does any decent head unit have sockets at the back for subs, tweeters etc or is that when you need an amp? Or do they plug into the amp, then the amp into the head unit? I presume wiring for the back speakers runs under the plastic by the door sills? What is this Pete - 20 Questions :D ? Thanks mate Pete
  21. Mailed ya Matty! You got it?
  22. Now I'm such a novice on this topic it's embarassing :o I wanna change my import radio and speakers for some half decent new ones. Looking in the backs of various car mags I see prices have dropped loads over the past few years, which is good :D. Decent cd changer, nowt flash, looks around £150, speakers £50 a pair? Not bothered about being the best/loudest/bassiest(!) just wanna be able to play cds and turn the volume up sometimes without fuzzy noises etc. Do I need an amp? Are they only for high wattage outputs? Will the wiring already in place be ok? Can I just go to a shop and buy a stereo I like, with 4 speakers of the right size, and fit them in place of the orig stuff? Ideally I'd like someone to list what they've got in their modest but decent set-up please :) , hopefully with prices :D:D:D My head hz :p Thanks Pete
