  1. Agree entirely. I've heard people say "A million people protesting about the war can't be wrong..." But 57 million people DIDN'T protest!! Bloody hippy lefties! I wonder what the country would be like if the government give in to protestors regularly? Pete PS No offense meant to any "bloody hippy lefties" on here :):D
  2. Bet you're popular with the neighbours! :D Sorry mate can't help but interested in the prob as my exhausts blacken v quickly. Pete
  3. It was great fun! 30 mins qualifying where they timed every lap and sorted the 5 teams in order of their best single lap. My team qualified 4th, and I started on the grid but the 2nd place geyser in front had problems getting away so ended up 5th and we never came back  . The race was 90 mins, 15 mins slots, 2 slots each. Great fun :), twas my first go and I'd defo recommend it. Didn't get the advise about cushions etc in time but only fingers are achey this morning. Quite a few spins, one resulting in mar kart being t-boned - ouch! Had we been more serious competitors we'd have extended our 15 mins, as pitting in seems to take ages. Cheers Pete
  4. Woohoo - Going tonight, its a client hospitality thing!! :D:D It's an endurance race, 4 per team apparently, any tips?! Anyone been? Pete :D
  5. What are these like to fit, as I've heard they are worth renewing for improved mpg? Cheers in advance Pete :)
  6. LOL! :D:D Never thought of that!
  7. I really need to get rid of two numberplate retention certificates I've had for a while so I can spend some money on the Zed :) Please ask your mates, hell I'll even give £50 'commission' if you want :D S4XOP and P70CUS, transfer fees are paid. I'll take £600 for the Saxo one and £400 for the Focus one, negotiable of course. I even saw S4XOA in MaxPower (yeah shut up it wasn't mine ;) ) for £1500  Sorry to post this in General but I want some exposure, thanks :) Cheers Pete
  8. Are the prices on that site for pairs of discs? If so they sound good! Cheers Pete
  9. Berks, when I got mine from Tony it had previously been garaged and now I keep it on the drive. In the first week of owning I had probs with the car stumbling and dying at junctions, which Tony had never had. Wiggling various electrical connectors, I narrowed it down to the ECU temp sensor (plus there was an extra fan noise which stopped when wiggling it), it was missing a connector clip, so the cold and frost getting to it and were intermittantly causing probs. Obviously when it was garaged, the connector never got frosty cold to it. Since cleaning up the connector and getting a clip, the problem has gone. So it may well be the cold air getting to the electrical connectors, which one - I don't know, but its probably worth checking all the obvious ones out (temp sensors, TPS, etc) and spraying WD40 to protect 'em after cleaning. Or be nice to her and put her in the garage ;) Hope that helps Pete
  10. Its a great site tho - pics and specs of most cars in their pre-release stage. There's few different Zeds there. www.conceptcarz.com Pete
  11. Think its starting ...Sky News
  12. I think it looks horrible, I dont like the way new cars are going in general. Monster BHP tho :) Whaddayou reckon? Pete
  13. clicky Bit harsh? :D Pete
  14. Hey, Told Adrain Flux about fitting the Stillen intake last week. Result: they want £144 extra:eek:   . Shocking! The other mods (exhaust, decat, momo wheel, alloys, strut brace) had NIL effect on stock quote. And they want a cheque "within 10 days" Jeez! Pete
  15. He he, who is this guy? Someone has more than one username I think ;) If your genuine, do you mind if i print off your posts to give to mrs shrimp? She teaches 5-6 year olds and may be able to translate ;)
  16. Yep that was me, the yellow one belonged to a bloke not on the forum, he had an annoying problem - his bonnet release cable had stretched/broken and couldn't open his bonnet! Said it'd been like that for a while. Would like to be there on 30th but will see how things go with repairing the zed. Dont wont to push it :) 370BHP  don't think I'd keep up LOL! I'd certainly try though!
  17. LOL Thanks bud, was just gonna Pm you, have you registered :D ;) . It was actually the *other hose* which went but see what you mean about doing both, good idea I'll do that. I had nearly budgeted for HG work so could get Samcos instead LOL, nah might leave it til its tip-top again (then I can break it!). Though red would look nice... Did you run in the end? Pete
  18. The AA bloke used some sort of black plasticky tape, wrapped round and round. I'm a bit worried that the coolant will empty itself if i just pull it off with no replacement to hand. Or would it be ok. Could plug it with a wine stopper ;) But good plan about Autoworld, top guy there! Needs to shave more, bit like me :D Cheers Pete
  19. I'm know I'm sooo wrong but WTF is wrong with standard autobox? I can compare to any other but mine, replaced 2000 nearly 20k miles on it, is fine. Changes feel almost instant. I'm sure mine's standard, the code on the invoice is RE4RO3A. What are the advantages of the fast road one? Try AndyZ, I'm sure he'll have a auto gear knob :) Pete
  20. Thanks Tony!! They cant have cleaned out the x tank because the gunk was looking just the same (I think) and thy would have at least wiped the dipstick. It probably comes out via the wheel arch, anyone? Might be worth doing to wash it out properly. I hope you're right too, do feel a bit better though :) Pete
  21. Thanks mate - looking through various searches I see you've had waaaay too much experience on this topic :( . Hmm the brown stuff is more like a pastey magnolia colour, certainly not dark, the covering on the dipstick was/is pretty uniformly spread over the bottom couple of inches, a little guey towards the bottom. Hopefully Jeff will look at it soon It drove home from the garage fine but there's no grin factor when you've got a nagging "impending doom" feeling. The garage certainly tested it : +20km on the clock! Thanks again posidrive Pete
  22. I saw a truck with 18 wheels today  :D  !!
  23. Ok got the car back from garage, they've flushed the coolant and changed oil and filter like I asked. But not changed the duff hose, muppets, "...it's an import, parts are hard to get...3 or 4 weeks..." ITS A BLOODY 8 INCH PIECE OF HOSE!!, I'd have got it from Halfords if the car had been driveable   Some people! I asked about the brown cack in the expansion tank, the guy said it could be the start of headgasket failure :( :( He priced the job up at £1200, 25-30 hours engine out  . Hoping for a bit more advice on this: There's never been any sign of water down in the oil, only this possibly oily brown stuff on the expansion tank dipstick, which is still there after flushing. (Suppose the stuff in the expansion tank will stay there despite flushing ?) I told him I'm not handing over loads of money when he wasn't really sure. Asked about how to test if the gasket's going, he said they might be able to take a look through an endoscope down the spark plug recesses  is this possible cos I'd rather know thats the problem before authorising any work anywhere? Plus they hadn't had a 300zx in before. One good thing is that the overheating was due to airbubbles in the system. Sorry to hear about your probs Adam, hopefully it'll be something nice and cheap :) Cheers again Pete
  24. Thanks keith, twas a good day wasn't it - apart from the trip home  Didn't see him run again after I kicked his ass (Sorry Adam :) ) :D :D Think hes got a fuelling prob cos he's got WAY more BHP than me. Or maybe red is weaker but faster... LOL I will change my avatar! Still v concerned about the light brown sticky stuff on the coolant dipstick after seaching on the forum :( Hopefully I'll find out when the "pros" look at it tomorrow. Pete
