  4. Hi all, I've just replaced my buggered radio aerial and motor today (thanks AndyZ :D) and it now goes up and down an' everything! Trouble is - the radio STILL doesn't work :( . The connections are fine both ends but no reception, not even close. What could be wrong? Thanks Pete
  5. Excellent mate! You'll have to let me know when you've got a Satuday/Sunday free and I'll whizz up to ya to see  Hopefully this one'll turn out better than the first  Pete
  6. Hello! :D Just seen a J-spec black TT zed in Tescos carpark in Daventry reg H34 *** square front plate. Is there a 3rd Daventry zed owner ???? :D ;) Also yesterday I saw a red zed turning off the A5 past Rugby in to Europart (I think) - biiiig bodykit and high level spoiler - very nice! Anyone here? Cheers Pete
  7. Cheers Berks - that looks a bit open to the elements so maybe it is the water that sent it doolalee ;)
  8. Cheers boys :D - it had a new speed sensor a few months back so it must be a wire loose  . Can I use a multimeter anywhere to test the speed sensor cos my ramps are designed for normal cars ;) or will I have to get some axle stands pronto? Yep the steering did go heavy :) Cheers again Pete
  9. Alright people :) Coming home in the p1ssing rain after a no-go at Santa Pod, I noticed my speedo wasn't working  - it was sitting at zero. It then perked up later on and was fine for the rest of the journey. I put it down to big puddles spashing on some electrical connectors somewhere  . Does this sound likely? Yesterday though it was nice and dry and took the zed out. The speedo didn't work again :(, I pulled into a petrol station to fill up and when I started up again the "Power" light on the dash *flashed* 3 or 4 times  . Turned the ignition off, and on again - same flashing again   . Anyway I set off and the speedo was working fine. No change in performance, autobox etc for the rest of the journey. V strange - whats going on??? Is the flashing some sort of autobox warning signal? Incidentally - my trip was to pick up a set of 4 car mats for the Zed :D Black, RHD ;) with "300ZX" in red stitching on the front two - sweet!! All for a bargain £15 from an ad in the local paper. Well chuffed!! Any help/advice on the electrical gremlins would be much appreciated :) Cheers Pete

Aye good ta :) No more injuries then? What are the odds of that ;) :D Can we put this thread in the up and coming FAQ section entited "What's a thread hijack?" :D:D Hope you're closer to re-zedding yerself mate :) Pete

You're not wrong  Good trip Matty? Find any decent zeds out there? :D
  12. I think if you do a search for "Superchip" you'll find bad things. Don't think they're recommended for the Zed. Plus that seems a bit expensive - JWT are cheaper and more respected. Pete
  13. Hmmm yeah I have the aircon on nearly all the time, I'll try it when its off :) Thanks Eric :) Pete
  14. D'oh - dont spoil my illusions by getting factual :D:D Pete
  15. Cheapest way to remove the limiter is a delimiter electrical gadget but as the 112mph limit is enforced by the ECU, changing this to a JWT/SE chip etc delimits it. Pete
  16. Another point for us autos eh Mac? :D Not turning this into another debate but when you manual boys ever play a motor racing game on any old console: what transmission do you select AT/MT??! Bwaahahahahaaa! That proves it I think. We win again :D Pete
  17. Nah not goosehoose Stu, I occasionally get that and its q different. Cheers Pete
  18. Hey all, If accelerating or revving hard, if I lift off the throttle suddenly there's a "cchhhhh" noise, sounds almost metallic. It doesnt happen when lifting off slowly or if I accelerate right through the gears. Its definately not dump valves ;) - actually its almost like a v loud click. It was suggested that it could be related to the recircs - so has any one else has this? My zed is decatted if thats important, noisewise. It does it even when revving in park or neutral. Any ideas? Performance is not affected but I'm concerned that its breaking something? Cheers folks :) Pete
  19. Sorry mate, obviously missed the funny bit  ;) There's "funny" then there's "attention seeking"... obviously it works. I'm usually the last person to be offended but why dont we make a joke out of paedophilia or some other regularly frowned-on crime like cruelty to animals eh?
  20. I had this problem and solved it by putting an additional washer on both the screws at the top of the panel. If you get washers whose inner diameter is slightly larger than the screws external diameter then you can move the washers slightly while tightening the screws to "fine-adjust" the panel fitment. Worth a try for 2x 5p, worked a treat on mine :) HTH Pete

If its an auto, you've not left the shifter in anything other than "park" have you? Sorry to state the "obvious" but I was stumped by that one after moving the shifter down to disconnect the clock :o If I try to start mine without un-immobilising first I dont think any light at all come on IIRC. Pete
  22. This is alarming close to my breakdown in Wycombe on 18th April, but thats more than a few days ago? Steam out of bonnet coming onto M40 Wycombe roundabout so turned back to Hazlemere (long story...), down the big hill through Wycombe at ummm 10mph nothing in front, holding up traffic etc. Mines red, G-reg but J-spec. All sorted now though :D:D:D Pete
  23. Bugger. I bet he pays Nissan prices :D. Pete
  24. Yeah that AutoBMC sounds good, I was gonna have a look at one of theirs in January and I asked if they'd throw a full cambelt service in and they agreed. I cancelled in the end though cos I got one from the board  Pete
