  1. Well I'll give you a clue, then .... The show that the film was about was broadcast from a basement in Aurora, Illinois and the hero of the film went on to become Austin Powers .... I'll admit it, I'm a bit of saddo .... but it still makes me laugh after many, many viewings .... Enough clues?:D
  2. Well done to you both!!:D :D
  3. Ray/Andy, Thanks for the info - the Weston Super place was the one I was struggling to remember ... I knew I'd seen it in some former post; but the memory's not what it was you know;) CheerZ, John.
  4. I also have the benefit of the chromed lights .. which look great. I can't begin to imagine how bad they were before as a standard J-spec, though, since compared to my previous UK Z, the lighting is still worse than useless in my opinion. I'd definitely like to do something to improve it - other than eating more carrots, that is! Main beam is brilliant, but dipped is like a couple of birthday cake candles.
  5. Can anybody remember the name of the company that supplies the bulbs direct - I think they're called "White Ice" or something like that - if I remember correctly, they have an eqivalence of about 85w, but only draw 55w worth of power. I'm sure I haven't dreampt this - I think they're down west and do H3Cs too ....
  6. "never been a cooler or funnier accessory" Yeah, right - and monkeys might fly out of my butt:confused: I wonder what comic genius invented these lovelies?
  7. Agreed - usual disaster getting to work with any kind of adverse weather condition, weren't even able to keep the M20 clear FFS! Mind you, we have to have a huge queue these days if there's a drop of rain. Gritters didn't get rolling 'til about 9.00 am ... thanks guys, just in the nick of time ... not! Took me 3.5 hours this morning instead of 40 mins and that was after Mrs John-Boy's SLK got stuck twice and school kids were wheeled in for ad-hoc assistance - bless 'em Can't even imagine what it would have been like in the Z - it's not working so it's not an issue - but I've had enough tense moments today worrying about trashing her motor to leave it at work and get a lift home in a mate's 4x4. It was really think snow in Swanley and Sidcup - even sent my lot home at 2.30. In fact, I supposed to be working from home now, not on the forum ... doh!

Gee thanks Glen ... does it look eerily familiar at all?? As it happens, I like it too, but since I've only had it since Christmas Eve, and the weather's been wet or frozen, I haven't really got to "know it" yet .. if you know what I mean. It looks kinda cool with icicles and snow and all:)
  9. I should think the stock spoiler does do a good job of increasing downforce ... after all, it weighs in at about half a ton LOL!!:D :D

Well, you'll just have to get your skates on (no pun intended) and get down to Kent sharpish - 'cos it doesn't look like it's going to stick around long.:D 2hrs to get to work this morning, instead of 30 mins, but at least had the pleasure of watching the schoolkids ambushing each other with snowballs!! Great fun, those far off days .... ho, hum.:)

Well, there's plenty of it down here in Shandy-Land, Anita!!:D :D My battery's knackered so I couldn't go out if I wanted to, but to be honest - I think the car's better on the drive for now ... discretion is the better part and all that!;) Did you have an overwhelming urge to get your skis on then?:)
  12. Hmmmm, Looks familiar somehow:D :D CheerZ, John.
  13. Clarkey, it sure is .... very pleased with it too, despite flat battery:( - Hopefully to be rectified today .... planning to leave it at home this week, if poss, though. 265's and snow - NO! CheerZ, John.
  14. Ev, Is your car import or UK? Do you have any modifications? Just wondering ... after the usual round of laughs with the various Insurance cos. CheerZ, John.
  15. Safe to say they're not your favourite, then, Stuart??!?! LOL:D :D Personally, I'd take on board all those comments, but they've still got a certain "something" - perhaps it's just the volume:D
  16. Thanks mate, Yeah, I'm well pleased with the wheels, 18x8 & 18x10 Kosei snipers ... not looking forward to replacing the rubber, though:eek:
  17. Sorry mate, crossed over - Yes, I'm still intending to go to the Lakeside meet - Mrs John-Boy is getting back from India that day, though, so if there's any aggro with flights, I might be otherwise engaged .... How about you?
  18. Paul, Looks like it's fixed now:D :D One or two snowy pics from today .... first day with the camera, so don't take the p1ss about quality! I think she looks nice in the snow, though, eh? CheerZ, John.
  19. Hey Paul, The car's great ta ... I've been trying to get some piccies up there today, but keep getting some internal server error - I think Stu was getting the same thing earlier:confused: Got some nice pictures today of it covered in snow ... ahhh! CheerZ Mate, John.

Another one for the Z Club of Great Britain!:D Have also been a member of the Porsche Club of Great Britain too, but didn't enjoy it that much as it was all about people with lots of money:rolleyes: At the time I was skint - mostly down to my ageing 924 turbo - at least on here, everyone seems to be skint, thanks to their pride and joy:D :D
  21. Stuart, It's gotta be and early knock off today, though, surely .... I'm off in 45 mins, but the office is quiet today - also bored! I assume you're working in town, doesn't that spell gigantic p1ss up at lunch time for the rest of the afternoon? Always did when I used to work in the smoke:D CheerZ, John.
  22. I was also out in Hong Kong earlier this year - in fact, to see the Rugby 7's (amongst other things) - which was a blast:D Something about that place that I love (and no, it's not just the food) ... my best mate's lived out there since 1994, and although he tried a short term back in England, it wasn't long before he went back out again, just couldn't hack the prices/taxes back over here, I guess. That was my second visit, stayed in the New Territories for part of it and in Kowloon for the second part - can't wait to go back next year:D Perhaps England can win the 7's again! Also been to Prague, Rome, Germany and the US this year - it's been a busy one. Favourite city ever visited was Tokyo (2 years ago) - what an amazing place - far too many Skylarks of every demonination though LOL :D :D CheerZ, John.
  23. Welcome aboard Stuart! Unfortunately I'm too pissed (and stupid) to answer any of your questions, but believe me, you'll find the ownership experience extremely addictive. I've had two now (last one prematurely snatched away unfortunately:( ) but had no hesitation in what to look for to replace it! Happy Christmas. John.:D
  24. Roy, Funnily enough, after reading your post yesterday, I got some unexpected mail from prospec motorsport, asking me if I wanted to buy the 350 they have in stock:D I'd post the details, but my fecking e-mail server is down, so I can't - however, it's roughly as follows: Silver 350Z ST model - 6 speed manual in silver with tan leather interior, plus all the usual goodies - hmm, nice!:) The only downside is the price tag - 31k:eek: I mailed them back asking for a viewing, and the car is indeed viewable, should you wish to nip down to Southampton. I was initially quite keen, but a) I don't think I can afford it right now (surprise surprise:D ) and b) I think I agree with Paulg, in that Nissan are going to bring them over here next October. In that case, I'm a bit worried that a premium-priced import (they reckon they'll be 27-ish K here), will then drop like a stone once they're available here:( Potential loss is large, I should think. If you want more details, then you can view Prospec's website at http://prospec-ms.co.uk. CheerZ, John.
  25. Hmmmm, What's happened to "Lighnting Fast" now, eh? Surely, someone of your renknowned speed only needs Christmas eve to shop ... go on, leave it 'til Tuesday afternoon.;) Teehee - smug git who's finished the present run:) Good Luck! John.:D
