  1. Mate, your transmission might be on the way out. Have it serviced ASAP! Your gear cogs maybe shaved, which is why it takes a while to engauge. Drive the car easy, & have it checked out as soon as you can. If there is metal shavings in the oil... save your money for a new tranny :(
  2. LOL Pick on the dyslexic guy!!! Take two... it may need a tap with a mallet. That's it, I'm going home now :(
  3. Detailed description LOL! Well your post wasn't very detail! What are you changing, rotor, pads? Either way, it's very easy. The Zed has floating rotors, so all you need to do is remove the to caliper bolts, slide the caliper out of the way... then the rotor can be taken off. It may need a tape with a mullet to loosen it up. Let me know if that's not detailed enough. Good luck (Note: when changing rotors, it is always important to change pads also).
  4. Wassup? Could have been a block in your fuel system, dirty fuel filter etc... It could be caused my a number of things. Don't worry about until it happens again (if it ever does) ;)
  5. Coolant temp sensor. There are two plugs on the coolant hardpipe at the front of engine block. The CTS is the bigger of the two.
  6. Try cleaning your CTS.
  7. Hi guys & girls, Really need to find info on my boost controller, as it's recently causing problems. It's a M's FBC, & is no longer manufactured. I can take pics of the unit if it would help. Just recently it has stopped turning on, & I'm only running 7psi  Thanks in advance! Jono
  8. What grade oil are you currently using. I use to run 10/40W & started to suffer from lifter tapping badly. Now I use 15/40W which has helped quiet them down :)
  9. There is also a convertable Z32 in HIGHER LEARNING.
  10. Gotta give points for having a Tazzie Devil hanging from the rear veiw mirror ;) Looks like it has an old mattress stuffed in the engine bay!
  11. Looks like you did a top job :) It's rewarding when you do it yourself, & it actually works! ;)
  12. I have brand new slotted rotors to install, & they have labels RR, RL, FR, FL & all the slots face backwards.
  13. Perth in on the other side of the country to me! My best mate lives over there, & is trying to talk me into moving there. As for getting more beer, my Zed might be back on the road by today! In the new PCV kit I ordered, two of the breather hoses were wrong, so that's holding me up a little while I find some hoses that are suitable. Still have heaps of other parts to install, but nothing that will take the Zed off the road for longer than a day.
  14. Whoops... posted before I had finished (& no bloody edit function). Oh well, I just hope it all pays off & I'm happy with her. At least I have a carton in the fidge, & another in the spare room. Anyone want to come over to chat Zeds, & down some beer? :)
  15. Good idea, the slots are to release pockets that can build up between the rotor and pad. It makes sense which way they should face when you think about it ;) I have brand new slotted rotors to fit myself :)
  16. Slotted rotors: The slots should go backwards. Which way are yours?
  17. Yuck... definitly does nothing for me! I'd get a 350Z & TT it ;)
  18. I'm sure many of you have been in similar position. I currently went on a out of control spending spree on the Zed. Rebuilding engine (final stages) Hybrid turbo's Adjustable tension rods Adjustable front & rear camber arms RDA slotted rotors all round Custom clustor & heaps of other small items that quickly add up Oh, & my insurance is due! Needles to say, I don't have the money to hit the town & won't have a sometime.
  19. Why your mechanic would say such things beats me. What I have heard plenty of is dead autos! I blew mine up within a few months of ownership. The standard tranny cooler (built into rad) is small & easily clogs. I strongly suggest anyone with a auto fit a larger, external cooler to prolong it's life. Here's a pic of my oil cooler.
  20. I'm happy to trade half a dozen or so ;)
  21. Glad to hear you have it sorted... but seriously LOL... Why didn't you decide to get to the bottom of it at the very start... Anyway, glad it was an easy fix for you.
  22. What? Are you saying there is a strong smell, & that coolant doesn't smell? I don't follow at all. Just for the record, coolant has a very strong smell. Good luck with it all.
  23. I heard that British chicks love Aussie sausage :D
  24. Is it white, if yes it's coolant? Why don't you pop the bonnet & track down where it is coming from? The heater hoses are to pass coolant from you engine to your heater core (behind dash).
