A few Z questions
Look out for a decent well maintained zed over an old dog. it will pay in the long run. UK TT zeds do come cheap sometimes, but give a good look over, if your unsure of what to look for, post up on here. I bought my UK manual TT for £1500. have owned it for 4 years and has only cost me £220. for a new clutch, flywheel etc. I do all my own work. Apart from that, runs pefect. Plus UK zeds are great

1 Tonne Jack
Agree with pete, a 1 ton will lift it, but i had a 1 ton and just didnt feel safe. now got a 2 ton one with low level access, really fast and study. A one ton is fine, but also use axel stands, dont wanna be under it if it goes....

Started the sills.....
At last got my poxy camera working. bit of an update from yesterday. After removing the dead metal, i only needed a part section of the original nissan inner sill. A bit of prep work, and to ensure both bends in the panel were exact to oem (well as close to) i used a brazing torch, that i re do lead sheet with, worked a treat, nice and tight. Once held in place, used lots of 3mm rivets to tighten it all up. Now all that is needed to have my mate weld it up, and remove the rivets and cover over them. little bit of welding on the inner rear arches, then new waxoil. then good to go. Cant believe all this crap came out from just the drivers rear sill, Worth checking your targa drain tubes, do actually drain, and not into the bodywork. but so far has cost me £3.50 for the rivets. Quite a saving for me and not a bad job if i dont mind saying so myself.

tip for the national
My tip is Ornais, my girlfriend, knows a guy, who knows the family of the horse, who is running it, but heard from a next door neighbour, that used to live next to a guy, who knew a woman, where he used to live that had a best friend who was a hedgehog, talk to someone, who said they had spoken to a passing pigeon, whilst on route to france, that a french baker had said it had a dam good chance if its gets clear of the pack. Either way ive got £3 to win on it at 100/1. and Big fella thanks at £5 @20/1 But guessing mine will turn out to be donkeys............... Sh** happens................... But i will be posting if they come in.....................

Started the sills.....
For weeks now, ive been looking at the zed, all neglected, un loved and un driven. Mot is out, and tax. Today so far with no girlfriend around, and no kids, i got cracking. To start, i needed to establish the extent of the rust. SO angle grinder in hand, off it comes. stretches from the rear drivers arch to nearly half way to the door. A couple of hours later, and ive removed whats needed. I had spare inner and return sills, thanks to a member on here. Once these were fitted, its time to tackle the outer. I got some 1mm zintek sheet from a local metal guy for nothing. As i cant source outer sills, i made my own and did the fabrication. Only trouble was getting the correct bend in the sheet, so after taking a template of my other zed. And a bit of push and muscle around a 4" soil stack and its near perfect. Sorted out the targa drain tube as it was discharging into the wing, hence the rust problems. Well chuffed at what i have achieved, as im good with engines, and plumbing but have never used a welder. Least the fabrication is done, and saved myself a few quid. Next stop is to my mate who welds for a living, and tighten it all up. Then mot, and hopefully back ripping up the roads of sussex. Will try and get some pics up, but have just rebuilt my pc, but it dosent like talking to my camera. Well chuffed.

Z Stolen!
Mate we need as much detail about the zed as possible, any aftermarket parts that stick out, reg number, and colour, what it had on it. As we all look on sites for bits, whether on here on ebay. Might show up something, more eyes looking out for it the better. Hope you get it back, but definatley the garage is to blame.

Short piece of trim at the top of the door
The trim is also held in with a screw, under the round plastic cover located on the outside, only you need window down a bit to get to it. use a magnetic screw driver, or the screw will fall into the door and be lost forever.

Bought a local car. (north west)
if its been well looked after, i agree with whats been said, if the miles are now doubtfull, gives you a bit of leverage re the price. But regarless if well maintained, and serviced, if zeds are cared for they should go on and on. Mine has just passed 130k, starts first time, and still goes like a madman, dosent use oil or loose water, engine is sweet and purrs, just the dam sills are the issue at present, but thats nothing unusaul for a UK, but it is nearly 17 years old.

propshaft question [gearbox fitting]
Ive also removed the 6 x allen bolts and holders on the diff end. Mark where the holders were with tippex, 1,2,3, and the same with the bolts, i got a piece of card board and put bolts through in order 1-6. With the centre 2 x 17mm out aswell. just a case of dropping diff end, and it should slide out.

Bloody hell
DId you inform the police, because if it turns out he isnt insured, or say in a work van thats not covered out of work hours, unless reported and he denys it, then you are out of luck and pocket. Plus he gets away with it. Should be ok to fix mate.
