  3. Cheers for the reply fella's We have tried to start the car with jump leads attached and we get the same problems. It went from working to not working in just over a week without any outside help. I will take a look at Smithys advice as soon as it stops raining! Which could be a while :) Cheers All, Dave Hopefully see some of you at Japfest, car permitting!
  4. Cheers for the response Smithy! I found it, should have looked really :) All nice and clean, cleaned it anyways but still the same problem. That was my old mans defination. What he meant was it was failing to spark. As to how he knows I do not know! Just looking for suggestions of where to look next, its strange, its been standing for a few months and weekly turned over and now its just refusing to do anything! Sounds like it wants to start but thats as far as it goes! Cheers, Dave.
  5. Were now onto the next step. I have now replaced the PTU for a series 2 and have to same problem. I have tried the PTU on another car also so can eliminate this. There was mantion of checking the CAS connection, as I am a little thick, where would I find it? I know where the CAS is but wheres the connection?! Just to confirm, there is no spark present! Hope someone can help! Cheers, Dave.
  6. I much prefer the 99 Spec since I had it changed last year :)
  7. Cheers fellas, Will take a look at the PTU when i'm down there next, luckily its parked at my old mans and his next door neighbour has a 300 also, a bottle of something special should ensure that I can "borrow" parts off his car to test mine :)
  8. Hey folks, My Car has been parked up since October and turned over weekly to keep it happy. Until last month at least when it decided to not turn over, its sounds like its trying but doesnt seem to be sparking. I had a similar problem when driving once, I lost all power besides the radio, turned out to be the coil pack fuse had jumped out. I tried swapping this over with a known good one but I am still getting the same problem. My car is currently parked up in Fleet so i do not have access to it all the time, I was just looking for a few ideas to check out when I next go down that way. The car was running fine before it was parked up, infact had only done less than 1000 km's since its last MOT. Thanks as always, Dave.

  17. Lucky bugger! :) My bill has come to about £1870 so far Had to have some work done before the MOT and now just rectifying the problems! Should get it back Monday after the retest though!
  18. Will hopefully be getting mine back from him when it's MOT'ed :)
  19. Same thing happened to me today. Got a renewal notice from Warwick Davis asking me if I wanted to stay with them next year, when I ask for this years premium I asked them to take out last years breakdown cover and take into account my now 5 years no claims. Came to £778 When I asked what my last years price was with 4 years no claims and european breakdown cover I was told £744. Under the figure was a note saying "as you may have seen, your premium has increased this year. If you manage to secure a cheaper price elsewhere please inquire again to see if we can beat that price!" Doesnt really make me want to stay with them :)
  20. I was on about the red 300 with the black wheels. :)
  21. L plate UK spec red zed with black wheels in fleet? That'll be my old mans next door neighbour. Nice fella, been trying to get him on here for ages!!
  22. Not misfiring, just a strange fluttering sound. And yes its a Twin Turbo! If I knew how to do a boost leak check I would give it a go!
  23. One last try, been going through alot of problems with my car over the last few months and starting to lose it with it now. recenltly had the following done. New Cambelt New Wiring loom Injectors cleaned and two replaced loads of gaskets and seals replaced including rear crank seal. PCV Valves with new hoses. Replaced Rad pipes Fitted New Fuel line kit New Radiator on its way as the old one is now losing water! Once this was done I thought the car was riunning great. Took it for a blast to celebrate, obviously a wrong move as when I stopped for a break and re-started it, it started to make a fluttering noise from behind the plenum and now seems down on power. I've not really driven it since then as I am too afraid to cause any damage. Does anyone have any idea what this could be or even better is there anyone in Calne, Wiltshire area that could possibly help me diagnose the problem as the MOT is due very soon! Any help is greatfully received as I am now tempted to let it stand and get a cheap run about! Cheers, Dave.
