Yes I'll be there. My car is on display. Ivan
  2. Cheers boys. Seems like removing the 'duvet' is the right way to go.
  3. Hmmm good. Yeah I suppose it would be baked on. Has anyone actually done this? I'm not too worried about the noise :hyper: I love it!!!! Anyone know about the battery thing?
  4. Hi everybody. Just a couple of questions. Firstly, the battery. Can someone post a pic of their battery tray/clamp arrangement? I only ask this because my battery is not clamped at all. And I'm not too sure if it's the original tray. It's a white plastic affair. Secondly. Bonnet lining. Is this just a sound deadening thing? Or does it insulate heat as well? Has anyone taken this off? I don't want it to ruin my bonnet's paintwork with the heat from the engine bay. I just ask because mine has gone a little manky near the windscreen area so looking at it, it would look nice as just polished paintwork under there. Any help would, as usual, be greatly appreciated. Cheers Ivan
  5. Nah not wheel bearing type noise. Looked on the CDROM manual I have and it shows the indicators on the inside? They are not touching the disc anyhow. Would they cause the noise if they weren't touching the disc?
  6. Dont think it's the brake shoes because it wasn't doing it before I put the pads in. Just been out for 10 miles and it's still the same noise and still the same symptons. Gave it a bit of stick (not too much) and still regardless of speed and brake on/off/pressure it didn't make any difference.
  7. Hmmm interesting. Just greased the pads up on the sides and put them all back in which seemed to have gone better and been out for a run and seems the same. Doesn't sound like a brake type squeal but more of a metal on metal scrapey squeal. It's the same regardless of road speed (upto 60) and whether the brake is on or off.
  8. Hmmm just took the pads out and the inside one seemed to be very tight at the hub side/end of the caliper. Didn't seem to want to move in or out? Do you think that the edges of the pad need greasing? Does the back of the shim where it meets the piston need greasing?
  9. Sorry for being so dim but do you mean at the top and bottom of the pad area? Or between it and the piston?
  10. Ah could be B19rks but why didn't they squeal before?
  11. Are the wear indicators the brass clip things? If so they were on the inside pads when I took them out?
  12. Cheers Scoops for the quick reply but not what I want to hear right now :slap: :nono:
  13. Hi guy's. Fitted some new pads yesterday in the rear of the zed and decided I'd see if they were ok today. Out I go targas off windows down only to hear a horrendous squealing noise! And not just under breaking but all the time! Just got it on a jack now and looked at it and nothing seems to be amiss apart from the pads seem to be touching the disc. Is this normal or do I have another problem? Cheers Ivan
  14. I have found these 2 clips on my inner wings one on each side. What goes in them? Or what are they for? Cheers Ivan

  17. Best to take a piccy mate and upload it as there is loadsa wires and connectors and stuff round there. Ivan
  18. Cheers Chunk mate but no need!!!! :hyper: :hyper: Duffman was the winner    . Took connector off the PTU and low and behold the terminals were looser than a weak prisoners ***hole! Got some insulting tape round the wires and went out for a drive and well  Whoa!!!! It flew like it hasn't for some time. Thanks guys (especially you Duffer) for all your help in getting my baby fixed. Ivan
  19. Ah Duffman! Not tried this but did clean them off yesterday. Didn't seem to make a difference  I'll try moving them around in a min as I'm going to do some engine cleaning! Ivan
  20. Actually wanted them the same colour as Jock' mate as follows (I think) Will probably paint throttle cable cover - yours looks top notch!
  21. Bayside on a skyline - daytona on a zed Ivan
  22. Yeah! Has anyone else had any success with Dremel/mire brushing? Changing the subject slightly I saw someone on here had painted the front timing covers. Are these a PITA to get off? What paint would you use? If you cant tune it just bling it! Ivan
  23. Ah yes. I posted something in there and it's still there LOL :D Ivan
  24. Did we decide we could do this by wire brushing it all off? Ivan
