  1. Respect if it's all hard work and dedication, but when they have a five o'clock shadow I'd say they've "gone too far"...
  2. I was the guy in the silver Audi A3 who was next to you at the lights off the slip road and then was too busy looking at your car to realise I was in the wrong lane! :smash:
  3. Man, that's terrible. It's one of those news stories that's hard to believe, because you just wish so hard that it wasn't true.
  4. Took the words right out of my mouth :D
  5. First time I ever phoned directory enquiries (the original one) the woman just answered the phone and said "Name?"... ... so instinctively - as if pre-programmed - I immediately gave her my name. At which point I got silence on the other end of the phone, shortly followed by a slap round the back of the head from my mate, because he had overheard what I had just done. :nono:
  6. When I fitted my HID kit I fitted them in the wrong place - they only came on when I had the main beam on, not with dipped headlights. With all the cursing that had lead up to this point and the lack of skin I had on my knuckles at this point I was both pleased and annoyed to find out that it was easier to fit them in their rightful place. Let's just say lesson learned. RTFM. :slap:
  7. An ex girlfriend of mine used to do something similar. She didn't just grind her teeth, she used to snap them together. Result was that I didn't get much sleep, but also her jaw used to click and that's a bad thing apparently which could lead to lockjaw. In the end she saw a dentist about it and got given some sort of gum shield thing which stopped her being able to mash her teeth, which in turn stopped her jaw clicking. Didn't make much difference to me sleeping, because I'd got used to it by then and the shield scared the crap out of me if I woke up in the night, because it was bright pink and looked to me like my lovely lady had been stolen and replaced by a rugby player.
  8. This is just my personal opinion, but £3K is a high reserve on what is effectively a write off. I'm not saying the car isn't worth that and looking at what it's got on it then for sure it would be worth more in pieces ( ), but it seems an optimistic starting point to me. It's a lovely looking car though... or was :wack:
  9. May be of some help: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=76933 Also this one includes some "during" pics and some "after" pics: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=79156 Simon.
  10. Mine has the alcantara/suede (whatever it's called) on the panels and leather seats. I'm looking to get the seats retrimmed to alcantara, or at least alcantara down the middle and regular leather on the sides and the headrests, because alcantara seems to be pricey. I have the split on my Audi and I really like it. I think it looks good and the leather wears well where it is rubbed as I get in and out the car and the alcantara is nice and grippy and not as sweaty as leather.
  11. Hi mate, I'm in the Reading area too. Up until now I've used Ztech and my car is with them at the moment. Hopefully if they turn things around ok that will be good for us, it's only a couple of junctions up the M4.
  12. Use an oil based thing like back to black and they'll likely come up a treat. Needs reapplying every now and again, but lasted months when I did mine.
  13. Good luck Chris and as a current customer I hope things work out for your new venture. If things go well, I'm sure I'll be using you guys again! ;) Simon.
  14. Hmm, you can see from the reflection on the last photo that there's two massive lumps on the top of his head. :nono: That doesn't look right man...
  15. Interior panels: http://www.300zx-mods.co.uk/Interior.htm or not as the case may be :headvswal
  16. Oh c0ck :( Never mind, that's what Craig told me, so I suppose expectations have been set back to their previous levels ;) Thanks anyway Dave, you've been a great help. If I could award brownie points, you'd get ten of 'em.
  17. Dave thanks for the update - pretty much ties up with what Craig told me on the phone. Didn't mention it was in the paint shop, so that's progress :) I really appreciate the help people have been giving and have offered. Damn shame you can't share Chris's Zed with us, but I did a similar thing on my mate's 18th birthday. He was up on the table at our local and doing other drunk guy stuff and I took loads of quality pics only to find out the next morning that my camera had no film in it. To be honest with a hangover like I had it was the least of my worries... :hurl:
  18. Yeah, I had a great link for that too, but it seems to have been replaced by a search engine
  19. Yeah, what Scubie says :) I just had a call from Craig. The Ztech mobile phone is now back on now and in his possession. Ok, so it seems absolutely nothing has been done on my car, but at least they are starting to ring around customers now to update with what's going on.
  20. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=30098&highlight=door+panels Any help?
  21. Hi mate. Here's a really good guide I used: Replacing Trim Also, I would really consider just replacing the trim, rather than recoating. You can buy new trim from ZCentre and they really aren't that pricey. I did mine a while back - here's a thread with the pics: My new trim Simon.
  22. I am getting the impression nothing will have been done on my car. Phone is dead for me too Gary. At least I'm not the only guy who's zed has gone AWOL ;)
