Bear Grylls?
He's definitely hard as nails. Some of the stuff he does is all about patience and hard work, for what looks like relatively little reward. I'd probably give up and whip out some firelighters, a box of matches, a tin can and a cup-a-soup. I would say I find Ray Mears fascinating and Bear Grylls entertaining. And if you think Ray Mears is boring what about that chap that he drags around with him sometimes?.... fook me!

Bear Grylls?
Exactly! You don't go through all that, get the chance to make a TV show and still sleep it rough (well, not unless you're Mears). He should enjoy the fruit of his labours. There's obviously just a little bit too much reality TV on the box and people don't know where to draw the line.

Bear Grylls?
There was a bit of an expose on his series a while back. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=470155&in_page_id=1770 To be honest I don't really care, because the guy still knows his stuff and it's a TV series, right? I think some people take this whole survival thing a bit too seriously - it's an entertainment show ffs. Is sucking the juice out of an eyeball not enough for these people???

Selling my z
Sorry to hear that. I've always loved the look of your car - it's a stunning example in my opinion.

boot lock ?
I've got a similar thing. My key doesn't work for the boot - I always have to use the release lever thingy. Can be a bit of a pain in the arse, but I'm used to it, because it's always been that way.

Rubber targa seals - where to get them?
Thanks Legrath, MJP were great, got back to me with a price really quickly, but that's also now ruled out me buying them new for now! For anyone who's thinking of buying they are the best part of 200 notes including the vodka and tonic. I don't think MJP are ripping the ar$e out of it, it just seems these things aren't cheap to get hold of. Luke @ zcentre has been really helpful (also spoke to him) - apparently with the door cards out you can adjust the angle and height of the window glass quite a lot, so I'm going to have a play with that as I think that could help a lot. I'll take some pics as I go, because I think this could be useful for others if it does the trick. Job for the weekend methinks. :D P.S. snowygt - thanks for the offer, but I need a pair and I'm going to try the window thing first ;)

Rubber targa seals - where to get them?
Anyone know where I can buy new U shaped targa rubbers - the ones that run from the top of the windscreen round the roof and then back to just past the door pillar. I checked zcentre and Courtesy, but neither have them listed. Currently my zed is letting in water like bouncers let in girls in short skirts and I've just had a retrim, so before I can unsheath my baby* and expose her to the big wide world she's gotta be sealed up so she's tighter than a ducks arse. Can anyone help? * remove the car cover

More Reading Zeds...

2008 Club Calendars ~ Reduced
Steve, I sent you a PM about this, but I haven't received my calendar yet and I ordered with the original batch. I sent payment on 27th Oct by bank transfer with my username as the reference. I haven't received it yet, but I've also just noticed that I'm not listed on the original thread as having paid. Hopefully there's still a calendar left for me  Cheers, Simon.

eek - from ebay.com
Actually I would 'fear that'. Mainly because I would be worried that if I saw it in the flesh it would induce my vomit reflex :hurl:

Whats the stupidest thing youve done in a car?
When I very first had my zed it had totally shot front shocks. I (somewhat stupidly) decided to drive it (with mate in the passenger seat) down to Thruxton for a karting event. Another mate was following in his car with his wife. It was very wet out. Needless to say the first roundabout I came to I booted it on the exit and ended up facing about 70 degrees* off from where I was travelling . I managed to get it sorted out, but the non-existent shocks didn't help much. Must have been quite a show from the car following. Anyway, once we were pointing in the right direction again and back on our merry way I looked in the rear view mirror to see what my mate thought of it all. His opinion was pretty clear from his hand gestures. :xxx: Chap in the seat next to me didn't say much and I was just glad I hadn't pitched the thing into the barrier. That was how I learnt about zeds in the wet. (* rough estimate from the guy following)

Another alloy wheel offset advice question
Thanks guys. I've got stock calipers at the moment so +35 will be ok then, but a brake upgrade is one of the things on my never ending "to do" list.

Another alloy wheel offset advice question
I know this sort of thing has been asked hundreds of times before, but can someone please advise which offset I should go for on the following wheels? I really don't want to cock it up. Ruff Racing 278 - front 18x8.5 - rear 18x19.5 Offset available is +20, or +35 Thanks!

dubai advice please
Yep, exactly what he said. Dubai is a pretty laid back place and they've really embraced the western way of life there. They even shifted their weekend recently to fit in better with the western world! You'll have a great time.

strange where is my hangover
I thought that about mine, but it's gone 1pm and I still ain't got a hangover. Still, it's not something to complain about! I'd settle for this every time I go on a bender, just doesn't usually work out that way...

Congratulations! That really is a Happy Christmas :)

best course of action
Sorry to hear that. I agree with letting the dust settle, hopefully you can at least talk together about what to do. I know there were new co-habitation laws to help with this sort of thing, but I don't want to give out duff advice when I don't know the detail. I hope you sort things out bud - somebody on here's bound to be able to offer some practical advice. We're lucky to have experts on everything as well as zeds.

Need your help: 0800 vs 0845 numbers
I might be wrong, but I think you can get a revenue kick-back from the provider for 0845 numbers. As this is for a business that might make good sense for you and is also cheap to phone for your customers. 0800 can't be dialled from certain countries, or can cost quite a bit if they can be. Not sure about 0845. I had this with a (surprisingly large) company in the US - they had a freephone US number for their support line, which is great if you live in the US, but you couldn't dial it from the UK. There are now an international freephone numbers that start 00800.

Squeeling
I get this too for the first few seconds after I start the car, but it goes when I blip the throttle, so I've never really thought about it much.

Big Brakes
My God, it must be like driving around on rubber bands! I hope the roads are smoother than a baby's bum out there, otherwise it would shake your fillings loose.

R.I.P Evel Knievel
He broke something like 40 bones during his career, so I don't even know whether he was a great stuntman either! ;) Seriously though, Knievel was an amazing showman, incredibly brave and a great inspiration for a number of people. I think it's often better not to know the person that lies behind the performer. It's better to remember them for what what they did best, not what they did worst.
