Well, it wasn't that long ago I resubscribed and I don't see big enough reasons to stop me doing the same next year. I've loved the zed since I was a kid and to own one was a personal dream come true. There have been so many people on here ready to help me with my technical incompetence and supporting the club is one way for me to say thank you to all of them. The help and advice and passion I've seen on here has been one more reason I'm proud to own a zed, so I for one give the club a big thumbs up. Cheers :duffer:
  2. I've finally got my zed back after five months off the road. I'll post some pics when I've given her a clean, because I think she's looking lurverly! Today I went to meet up with a guy I used to work with for a pub lunch and catch up and on the way I ended up dancing with a Corvette for a while. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face all afternoon. :D
  3. Wide arch kits have just never done it for me and this one is no exception. I just love the lines of the zed and to me wide arches just make it look like it's been eating all the pies.
  4. Thanks Dave, appreciate the help. I didn't fit them myself and the only link I could find to a fitting guide seemed to be dead, so I've been scratching my head.
  5. I found this out when I bought a centre console from the US. It fits, but amazingly it seems it's not just that the clock is on the other side, the whole unit is slightly skewed the other way. It fits, but there are slight gaps in places around the edge.
  6. Hi Dave. Needles were removed to fit the dials, but the lights to the boost and oil pressure gauges aren't blocked. The problem is that the boost needle doesn't move at all... it is stuck on -14 the whole time.
  7. Since having some indiglo dials fitted I have a few problems: 1) temp gauge works, but when the car is warmed it's sitting at about 75% and it always used to be bang on 50% 2) boost gauge isn't working at all What I don't understand is how the new gauges would affect where the needles end up pointing, but that's probably showing how much I understand about the problem  Any suggestions please?
  8. I know this won't be popular with everyone, but for me the best fix would be charge a rate based on the miles you do. Higher emissions/engine size, then the more you get charged per mile. The only reason I say that is because I do sod all miles in my zed and loads in my other car, so getting stung a grand for doing pittance mileage a year really hits me in the goolies. On second thoughts maybe that should just be for second cars. That way everyone pays a flat rate for their necessity car and gets stung based on the miles they do in their secondary car. Probably too difficult to track and completely infeasible, but then that's why I'm not a politician. :duffer:
  9. Oh bugger! Don't think it was you bud, was a standard uk plate from memory.
  10. I think I've got the time about right. Car looked pretty stock from what I could see. You made off through the traffic, I didn't flash because I wasn't in my zed :smw:
  11. You can buy a new one from Zcentre. That's what I did, because mine was in a right old state. Looks the business now, but I notice they're a bit more expensive than when I bought mine.
  12. I was there near to Christmas a few years back. I was in Dubai and I went to a club where the entertainment was some cheekies dancing in mini santa outfits. Also when I came to check out of my hotel (which had a big Christmas tree in reception) there were a load more girls in santa outfits with short skirts dancing around the tree. So for those two reasons I think you're right not to go to Dubai, Christmas celebrations like that suck don't they :D
  13. I used to work with a bloke that resembled that, only he wore linen suits and black silk shirts. Looked like "our man in Havana" or something. Nice job :D
  14. Please add my name to the list Steve. Thanks, Sy.
  15. Yep, whenever I've had a package couriered from abroad the courier arrives with the package, but needs paying the import tax before he/she will hand it over. So I think Pete is spot on with saying the courier pays it then bills you.
  16. This might help you bud http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=73316
  17. Dunno why it would be. Each time someone visits London they get 100s of pics taken of them by cameras on the underground etc. I can't see why being sat on your arse in your car would make much difference. These days anything seems fair game
  18. When someone else got done speeding in my zed they were shot from the front so you could see their face nice and clearly - not much contention there! :D It was really neat actually, when I got the notification through ("intention to prosecute" as it was called) there were instructions on how to view the photo online, so I could log on, view the photo and that's how I knew it definitely wasn't me who was driving. I don't get why more police forces don't do that? It saves all this bollix of having to request the photos and stuff.
  19. Yep, mine's leather and alcantara and is a UK '93.
  20. I'm with you Si, they are 'orrible!
  21. My zed got caught speeding whilst in a garage for some work :nono: Ok, so I knew where it was, but not necessarily who was driving. Can't believe that under the new rules I'd get 6 points for that! Would seems a bit harsh when I didn't even have my car at the time. So, car wasn't stolen, but I didn't know who was driving either.
  22. Yeah, found that. Last week they had the GTOs on there, this week not
  23. Hi mate, couldn't send you a PM, so quick question. Where did you get your alloys from? I think they are Inovit GTOs and I really like the look of them, but I can't find a place that sells them. Hope you can help! Thanks, Sy.
