Since having some indiglo dials fitted I have a few problems:

1) temp gauge works, but when the car is warmed it's sitting at about 75% and it always used to be bang on 50%

2) boost gauge isn't working at all

What I don't understand is how the new gauges would affect where the needles end up pointing, but that's probably showing how much I understand about the problem

Any suggestions please?

It mainly depends on how you've fitted the gauges!

Did you remove the needles? If so, then this will be why your temp gauge is out of true.

Also have you blanked off the portion above the Boost gauge? (Thus stopping the lamps from shining down)

Let me know, and I'll see what I can suggest from there ;)

Hi Dave. Needles were removed to fit the dials, but the lights to the boost and oil pressure gauges aren't blocked. The problem is that the boost needle doesn't move at all... it is stuck on -14 the whole time.

youre not supposed to remove the needles to fit indiglos anyway. the temp guage just needs the needle adjusting, but check to see if boost needle has been bent as they are quite thin and fragile.

Good luck with sorting it mate! Getting som myself, can anyone post some "fitting" instructions?

Ta!

Mario is indeed correct, you needn't remove the needles for the fitting of these indiglows, but you have and now we should be able to help you.

Give me a few mins, and I'll see if I can find the fitting instructions that I had for my white dials. Mine DID require the removal of the old dials and the needles, so it came with in-depth instructions on how to do them properly.

As a rule there should be a big enough hole in the centre to allow you to slide the new overlay over the end of the needle and then upto the centre position. This ONLY applies to the speedo and tacho, as the others can be separated without problem.

Back in a bit

Thanks Dave, appreciate the help. I didn't fit them myself and the only link I could find to a fitting guide seemed to be dead, so I've been scratching my head.
