Hmmmm, I know it's a big meet but doubt I'd go to Billing, but as I've said the IOW trip will be the 3rd meet on successive week-ends for me, so a bit of a gap might be nice, especially as Ned's not that keen on giving up 3 week-ends to zeds!! However, I'll go along with the general concensus - whatever is decided I want to do the IOW :hyper: , wouldn't be too sure about camping in October - although the way the weather's been so far this year we could have a heat-wave  Cheers, Steve

If things dont go well I will be in my mini zed, (below) look out for me cos I wont be capable of keeping up with the pack of Zed's Don't worry, "bringing up the rear" is my job  ......be nice to have some company :hyper: Having said that Scotty was damn good at keeping the pack together last year

  5. Hmmm, that'll make 3 zed week-ends on the trot, could be a bit awkward - not to mention an expensive 3 weeks  I'll have to chat to the missus tonight, haven't mentioned the Hackpen meet to her yet, what a fun evening I'm going to have!! Really want to do this one, but whatever happens camping is a 'no go' for us at the moment, however hopefully we can meet up with all of you for the day. Thanks for the effort Scotty, be good to catch up, Cheers, Steve
  6. I used a flat blade screwdriver, carefully run along between the vent and the foam until you find the spring clips (can't remember how many there are - getting old!!) and then gently push into the clip and lever upwards, at the same time. I started mine from the drivers end and slowly worked my way along - the vent comprises two sections which overlap in the middle which is an awkward bit. Also watch out for the sensor at the passenger end, couple of thin wires which need disconnecting. One of those "five minute jobs" :D but best to just take your time, cheers, Steve
  7. Saw one silver (briefly!!), West bound on A27 at Havant 10.30ish and then another, G reg, parked outside Pompey Uni - St. James St. central Pompey about noon. Quite a few zeds around this way, but it could have been the same car. Left '300zx calling card' oooh, err, Missus!! on the second - first one was travelling a bit fast for that, opposite direction to me as well  Both looked standards, second one was pretty heavily loaded up in back though, poor thing :slap:
  8. renewed over the week-end via paypal, have had confirmation of payment from paypal but not club - is that normal? As I'm still able to log in I guess it went through OK
  9. :nono: I know that, but meeting up somewhere isn't going to cost £35 + petrol to Bournemouth and back (depending on where the meet is of course!!) Sorry m'dear, but after 2 weeks Hols cash is going to be tight  Cheers, Steve
  10. Yep, me too - end of July-begining of August suit me, cheers, Steve

sorry folks, we'll be up in 'Jockland' :duffer: that weekend, hope you all have a good 'un and catch up later on, cheers, Steve PS, almost forgot, before Athene gives me grief :D, finances are going to prevent me from the rolling road - which is a shame 'cos it'd be interesting to do it - hopefully next time.
  12. Hmmmmmm, I did wonder when I posted the comment, I reckon I've heard/read good and bad about nearly all mechanics, it's always a bit of a lottery so you've just got to bite the bullet and see how your 'chosen one' deals with you personally and I've no complaints and that's what matters in the end.
  13. had similar with mine turned out to be the headlight panel bolts had worked loose and it was rubbing/squeeking - realigned, replaced rubber grommets and tighted bolts and problem solved. Took ages to suss it out, but wish all zed snags were that simple to correct. Just a thought, good luck
  14. Does he now, I might have to drop him a PM myself as I've been running up to zedworld for anything my "girl" needs :D Got no complaints about them but somewhere closer would be a Godsend, just from the petrol point of view. Might also be worth contacting 'MadMarco' he's in Winchester, so he may know someone around that area. Welcome aboard mate, another south central zed, good stuff!!!
  15. ............ car until I get a bog standard nissan badge...no bugger wants one of them. Luke at zed centre sells replacement 'zed' badges, lessens the pain marginally, but these pr***s make me sick, always someone who just has to trash anything that ain't theirs - nothing's sacred anymore!! bring back national service....only 'cos I'm too old for it now...ha, ha
  16. PayPal'd, thoughts are with family and friends, sad loss that no words can ever ease
  17. I've had numerous e-mail discussions with DVLA, VOSA etc as mine's an import and I was considering a smaller front plate. It appears that it "could" be legal. as my car wasn't constructed to accomodate a full UK plate, however, they were careful to point out that they can only advise on points of law - only a judge can give a definitive answer!!!! This took over 6 months of e-mails and being shunted from one organisation to another and back again - how can it be so damned difficult to get a straight yes/no answer  - no wonder the response is so different across the country when DVLA and Co. just leave it to the mood swings of each individual plod!!!! Just frustrates me that you try to do the 'right thing' and end up getting the run-around.....rant over....for now
  18. Hmmmm, I'll bear that in mind if I'm unfortunate to breakdown over in S'oton :D

going over what's left of the zed eh??
  20. Sounds like a good day, I'll say a provisional yes, always difficult for us to plan that far in advance - however, Mother-in-law's up that way so a long week-end may sweeten another "zed-weekend" with the Missus!! Would be great to meet up with so many fellow sufferers and put faces to names :) Cheers, Steve PS, is there a prize for 'furthest from home zed'??? gotta be in with achance from down 'ere!!!

I'll say provisionally yes, Mother-in-law's up that way, so hopefully we could make it a long week-end - that'll keep the Missus happy with another zed related week-end!!!
  22. Hiya, finally got my a*se in gear and am in the middle of fitting the Honda start button - following your thread last year. Can you help me out with which wire it connects to behind the ignition switch?? I've got the button fitted, relay sorted and I'm OK with the first red wire going to the cigar lighter 'live feed' and the black one to earth, but damned if I can figure out the correct one behind the ignition barrel :( Really don't need the grief if I cock it up. Oh, zeds a '90 jap NA Cheers, Steve
  23. Come Scotty, couldn't you pop 'round in the "company car" and have a quiet word in his ear???
  24. as everyone has said, Luke's a top bloke and has always gone the 'extra mile' when I've needed help - hence he's very busy and phone's always engaged. Stick with it, he'll see you right.
  25. just done the zed - said £175 on the form, but cost £180 on-line....only £5 increase, thats £10 less than the Skoda...........there's logic in my maddness, I just haven't figured it out yet!!
