  1. Great another Steve to join me in 'old mans corner' seems that us 40+'ers are a minority amongst these 'whipper-snappers' Couldn't afford it in my day -made do with a Ford "Crapi"!! Had "Betty" (sorry Si  ) for 5 1/2 years now and never seem to stop spending money on her.
  2. It's addmission by advance ticket only, you cannot buy on the gate!!! check out Sunday will cost you £47 per person - entry only!! (£160 for a three day ticket) lot of dosh, but you won't get the chance to see so many stunning cars (most F.1 teams attend, with either drivers or testers), talk to drivers, owners and mechanics anywhere else, it is pretty unique!! Also a "supercar paddock" for the Lambo's, Astons, Nobles etc (the Veyron was there last year). Go on, you know it makes sense.............
  3. Great event, worth the money just for all the chance to get up close and personal  with so many stunning, historic cars and their owners/drivers etc. Been the last couple of years, can't make this year  brilliant day/3 days out, I've never bothered with the grandstand ticket, the standard entry is expensive enough and as you say there's loads to see - you won't be sitting for too long (except to get in and out of the car-park!!) One word of warning, there isn't much shelter, so if it's sunny take your sun-block but if it's raining, find the bar!!!! Enjoy

Nice one Eileen, great idea, had hoped to get a last minute reprieve from a prior engagement for this meet-up, but no such luck  Sorry folks, hope to catch up again soon, Gaz - it's important that us 'newbies' feel welcome, you did a grand job  enjoy the curry etc...............I'm not envious.....honest. cheers, Steve and Ned
  5. Oh, err Mister, nothing that I'm prepared to discuss on this forum :D Seriously though, got loads of "family" visits to make in March, so doubt I'll be able to indulge the zed  However, will keep an eye on this thread and see if I/we can catch up with everyone. Good luck with the organising, Cheers :duffer: , Steve and Ned
  6. Sorry you're still rough, 2 days off work/in bed and copious Southern Comfort worked well enough for me to be feeling almost human again (although it could be the "crack" wearing off...cheers Mr. Isherwood :slap: !!!) I had all the symptoms on the Friday morning, so will have to blame my boss, even more fun than blaming you....LOL. Take it easy matey, cheers, Steve Almost forgot the "thread"...... busy catching up on DIY kitchen bits that I avoided last week-end by going to Hatchgate, sorry lads, but I hope to catch up with everyone again soon

  8. having spent all day wrapped up in bed, paracetamol every 4 hours for the aches and pains, washed down with southern comfort(no mixer or ice) for the sore throat/evil cough and lots of tissue for the snotty sneezes...not the best cure-all, but after 4th or 5th straight SC, who cares!!! PS it's OK Gaz....not blaming you for passing it around at Hatchgate.........honest guv
  9. Well, I guess it's a "proposed P.A" as in Prince Albert!!! not somewhere I'd want to have a bloody big needle shoved....but each to their own....... wouldn't want to be stood next to him in the gents....very poor sense of "aim"........not easy to explain to your mates when you return to the bar
  10. Oi..........I thought we'd got a deal, you give me the nod when everyones checking wozzers "P.A" ....I nick it, you get the bits you need to sort yours out...then we split the dosh!!!! God, whatever happened to honour among thieves!!!!!
  11. Christ, photos, vids :o and "grassed-up" :slap: cheers M'dear!! :p   Was a good day, great shots, see you next time 'round

originally planned to go up A32/B3349, nice country road to "trundle" along!! but this sounds like a better plan, any ideas what sort of time we're talking for "them lot down there"...... Gaz and Co started out at a horrendous un-godly hour for the IOW trip!!

the junction were the A303 and the M3 meet would be a good place to meet up, we can then all mossie on down there together, good pics and videos on route. I'm up for meeting up, but coming up from Pompey and don't know this bit of M3, I can see where this junction is...but where are you planning to actually meet up..is there a service area either on 303 or M3??? PS, according to TV prog tonight...roll-necks are the height of fashion...Gaz mate, seems you're a trend-setter!!! cheers, Steve
