  1. Mate them vids are amazing. Don't suppose you,ve got a vid of me on the handling circuit were I don't nearly nail a cone on that bad bend. lol. I thought it was going to be harder to navigate, but once your on the track it was easy to follow. Thought that middle bend was the hardest part. Understeer was hard to stop. Driver error im sure. Made me want to do an airfield trackday. Learn a lot on the edge of control without the fear of hitting a wall. Cheers for the vids paul. Theyre mega. Danny
  2. Some pics I took. Not great as most of them from in the car. Sure my mate has some so ill get what I can. 1st pic is my first ever £100 fill up, and it got me from preston, to the event, ran all day then home again. happy days. Someone say they were putting vids on youtube? Cant wait for that. cheers Danny
  3. I have a few pics which I'll get up when I get near my laptop. It some great shots there. And by all means get the vids on YouTube. Would love to see some of the action from the outside. Still on a high from that event. Cheers Mr noz for bringing that together. Hopefully get a full team of running Z,s next year. And I need more power. Lol. Cheers all. Danny
  4. What a day that was. Loved every second of that. Will be doing it again next year for sure. Good to see everyone and big thanks to slick Pete for advice and hrs Bing ny time slips. Great help. More power for next year. And new tyres. Cheers Danny
  5. My last lwb 300 came with a whitter towbar with electrics. Think it's still in the garage. If I have you can have it. The previous owner used it to tow his jet ski I believe. I've got the paperwork that came with it aswel. I'll dig it all out and see what's there. Didn't look right if I'm honest. Hasn't Chris C got 1 on? Cheers. Danny
  6. Pm replied. I'm in but can only get there Sunday am. Can't wait for this now. Cheers. Danny
  7. any movement on this guys. I want to enter so if the team idea isn't looking like happening then ill just enter individually, and see you on the start. lol. Im free next sunday for a mini meet if that's what it needs but that's to late for a team entry anyway. So do we get our team entry in before the closing date then have meet to sort out the details. Does it just need someone to bite the bullet and sign us up, and if so, does said person have to pay the whole amount? Im going to japfest 2 aswel so that could be a meet for arranging things aswel. Cheers. danny
  8. Yeah I'm up for that. Nothings getting sorted here. When, that's the big question. A random rwyb day? Danny
  9. I think a team entry is the future, and also asap, but after the japfest. Im on 3 track sessions so it will tell me if or what needs changing on the car, and if it survives. As soon as that's out of the way, ill happily put the entry money up and begin the planning, and maybe a meet up or 2 before the event. Simple discussions can take days on here. cheers, danny
  10. What's the rules with Targa tops for the track sessions. Assuming the weather holds up of coarse. Sure I saw the MX5,s with their roofs off in past years. Not long now. Cheers Danny
  11. Power isn't everything. You must have your technique dialled to be gettin the times you are . I'm now running 18psi but unknown power and haven't done a drag since. Should help with top end. Its that tight handling circuit were the Z,s will strugle I suspect. Danny
  12. My god, just a few years ago 300zx,s were unheard of at Totb. Now there's potentially a team of 5 entering. Exciting times. Basic engine spec: T2871 turbos 555 injectors 89mm weisco pistons Mike smith headers Plus all suporting mods Still on standard but chipped ecu and maf. Think it got 420 bhp before I got the actuator springs changed. It would only hold 14 psi. So could be special. Want to get Japfest out of the way then I'll come over for some drag racing. Thanks. Danny
  13. Yeah I'm in for sure. Will try and get remapped before then aswel. Sure with my engine spec there's more to be had. Can't wait now. Always dreamed of entering this. Tell me how I can help and what I need to do etc. Cheers. Danny
  14. Definitly Friday night for me. Leaving Bolton area around 6 pm. And probably staying at the cribs causway on the M5. So if I can meet anyone en route I will. Cheers. Danny
  15. Hope its not mega hot, 2 back to back track sessions will be a killer on a hot day. Cant wait though. 1 month to go I belive. Cheers for sorting everything out Steve. Shame you cant go, always next year I suppose. Thanks. Danny
  16. Well I've never entered before so don't know the full format. Imagine you get there Friday night, camp on site etc. Then practice and qualifying Saturday and main event Sunday. So it'll be a case of seeing who wants to go up on the Friday. And we can set up a bit of a pit area. I'll look into it all this week. Been a long term dream competing in Totb in my Z. Can't wait. Could do with an events organiser to help out if poss. Someone who knows what they're doing. Cheers. Danny
  17. Anyone any experience with this. I'm insured with Adrian flux. And pay through through the teeth for road insurance. Rang then today to see about trackday cover (for Japfest initially, it will want it for other days). They qouted me £130 for the day, but only covers up to £1000. What feckin good is that. Is that just how trackday insurance is or are flux hammering me. Any advice welcome. Have done a few trackdsys before without cover, but as I plunge more and more cash into the car, feel like I should have it. Cheers Danny
  18. I have 5mm spacers with the standard studs. And they're not hub centric. Think they should be though. Do get some vibrations, despite getting the wheels balanced and a 1 piece prop fitted. I've got 18" wheels and cars lowered 30mm and the wheels skim the rear arches if I hit a dip at speed. But apart from that all is well. If you go for hubcentric will you let me know if you have any vibration issues. Hope this helps. Cheers Danny
  19. Like I say I still debating the night before. But cheers for thr responses guys. Got a rough gauge of the situation now, and doesn't look like there's going to be a big convoy from the northwest area. I'll give it a few weeks then see what's what from there. I believe there are 20 Z32,s going so must be more from down south. Thanks for your inputs. Danny
  20. Will you not want to go down the M1 mate. Don't mind a bit of a detour to meet you somwere neutral ish. Getting there now. That's potentially 3. Keep em coming folks. Thanks Danny
  21. Well that's just doubled the numbers in the convoy. Lol. I'm debating weather to drive down the night before and stay over somewere at the min. Just thought if there were any decent convoys I'd go with them. Still time I suppose. Cheers Danny
  22. Originally put this in the north west section but no joy. So just seeing if there were any convoys at all from the north/midlands that I could tag along to. It's half the fun driving to the event if your in a decent convoy. Cheers Danny
  23. See if someone local has a similar one to swap it and see if that solves it? I had a wierd boost problem and came to a similar conclusion. So just bought a new 1 from eBay. An official greedy one is expensive but I got mine for £45 I think. Sounds like that's at fault to be honest. Cheers. Danny
  24. how many actual 300zx,s are there though? Sure there was only 8 last year. Dying breed. There were more NSX,s. lol.
  25. keano posted a topic in Events - UK
Anyone from the NW area convoying to Japfest this year. If so what time, were etc. I want to be there nice and early to avoid queuing plus don't know what time track sessions are yet. Cheers Keano
