  1. What's the word on this tracktime then. Or do I need to contact 1 of the japfest organisers? Cheers Danny
  2. I'm potentially in a position were I'm having to sell the Z and maybe before japfest. Obviously can't bring ny other car on the club stand (legnum vr4) but was wondering if I could still use the track sessions I have? I've got 3 Z track sessions but are the car specific? I may be fine and able to keep the Z but it's doubtful. So just testing the water on this. Apologies to the people who organise tickets etc, I wouldn't even contemplate this if it weren't needed. And if all else fails there'll be a club pass and 3 track sessions for sale and I'll park in the general area and see you all there. Cheers Danny
  3. If I've still got the Z I'll compete. If not I'll be there in the legnum and on hand to help were I can. Great idea having inter club comps. You may end up starting something big here. Recon he evo, Scooby and gtr clubs would take the podiums though. Ya can't beat 4wd. Be putting the Z up for sale in April, so depending on if it sells or not, I'll let you know. It's 1 of the best events of the year though. Cheers Danny
  4. I'm on for this aswel. Possibly ny last year in a Z so want to make it a good one. Cheers Danny
  5. Payment sent this morning. And premier inn booked aswel. Happy days. See you all there. Thanks. Danny
  6. Anybody up for entering again this year. Was a good laugh last year and we almost had a team of 5. Just thought I'd throw it out there early on to spark some interest. Cheers Danny
  7. I'll take another track session if they're going spare. Ive already got the 2nd and 3rd sessions I think. So might aswel do all 3. Much better tines this year. Must remember to take fuel this time. Cheers Danny
  8. Can I have 1 stand pass and the 2 later track sessions please. Comes round quick doesn't it. Still my favorite show if the year. Cheers Danny.
  9. Sorry to dig up an old thread but kind of still in the same boat and think I've permanently killed the odessey battery due to letting it run flat for to long and never got round to running a fan isolator. So I'm looking at probably a standard (cheaper) battery and putting it in the boot. As the battery tray space under the bonnet is half used by an oil catch tank. So the questions, can I rescue my dead odessey battery. If not which is the best 1 to get for the boot and which cable is best. And do people run it inside or outside. My own fault for letting it run down, but don't have charger and had a busy year, and the car ended up stood to long. Any help welcome. Will say though, had no problems with the battery while I was using the car regularly. Powered the car and fan etc no problems. Cheers Danny
  10. How much are track tickets? Doesnt say on here or japfest website. Best show of the year me thinks. There a deal this year for japfest 1 and 2? Cheers Danny
  11. Why the figure of 500bhp? Only ask because people set out to get a figure like that with no idea of how fast their car will be with it. From a stockish chipped engine with 350bhp to 500bhp is a massive difference nd the rest of the car, and driver needs to be up to it. Brakes, tyres, suspension, good geo setup, bigger better rads and intercoolers. What do you want from the car that needs 500bhp. Mines running 400bhp with a massive spec, but it's running it safely and has all supporting mods. All it needs now is remap and a decent driver. Just wondering your reasoning before you spend a fortune chasing numbers. Cheers Danny
  12. I've had an rps max clutch and fidanza flywheel in my current Z (running 400bhp and 420 lb of torque) for 4 years and my previous running 14psi etc for 2 years. Bit heavy pedal, but organic plates, think it uses standard friction plates with heavier springs. Can't remember the price or were to get them I'm afraid but very smooth take off and I've drag raced the hell out of both for years and they never slip or judder. Cheers Danny
  13. Or accusump, which is like an additional tank that senses any drops in oil pressure and pumps extra oil into the system, then when pressure returns to normal the tank re primes itself. I looked at that system but didn't want the added complications and having to mount an extra oil tank somewhere. So I went for the above linked system. A baffled sump from America. Did take 6 months to arrive and they want a standard sump in exchange. Done a good few trackday since fitting and it's been fine. But I've also got massive oil lines and 24 row cooler so my capacity is up anyway. Also not cheap, can't remember the figure but sure it was £800. Hope this helps. Cheers Danny
  14. I've got the eibach and kyb combo. With all ajustable arms, polybushed everything etc (all worth considering if changing shocks and springs). Use my car for track, drag and general driving, weekends away with the misses. Great combination of comfort and performance. See what you want to use the csror then at least you'll know what kind of shocks and springs you want. Stiff doesn't always mean better handling, specially on the UK roads. Cheers Danny
  15. Mine pulls near shell stations. Is it not just following the camber in the road. Mine does it and it sometimes feels like it really is pulling. Cheers Danny
  16. Would it be an expensive kit on a Z then. Assume the lpg injectors would have to be equal to the petrol ones. 555cc in my case. It it nearly halves the fuel costs doesn't it. And am I right in thinking you don't have to change the oil as often because it's not getting as contamininted by the petrol. Not shaping up to be a bad thread this. Clearly a gap in the market here. Cheers Danny
  17. I've seen loads that still do it. easy enough to make it worthwhile. It'll only be like trying to find v power. Around 70p per litre. Surprised there has not been a thousand 'don't do it, it'll blow your engine up' posts. Could be a good thing. Or is there that little experience with actual Z,s. Know of fair few different models and makes running it with no problems. Cheers Danny
  18. My last fill up was the morning of totb and was £100.54. That was at £1.44.9 per litre. And still had no fuel light before I filled up. Maybe it's broke. Never run it that low anyway. And it did 260miles to that tank. That's Bolton to totb (elvington), compete all day Sunday (8 1/4 miles and top speed runs), and 5 laps of the handling circuit plus queuing, warm up and cool down then drive home, take it to garage for mot, then Preston and home. 16mpg ish. Happy with that with 555 injectors and a heavy foot. Cheers Danny
  19. That's the feeling I'm getting so far. But is there no one out who's done it to a tuned Z successfully. Even thought of like a dual map, use lpg for general driving then swap to v power for the track etc, because like has been mentoned, the switch over is seemless. I've a rough idea of the science and theory of the stuff. But its the application to a tuned Z that I'm unsure of. Keep em coming chaps. I'll take the Z to the legnum guy who does the installs and see what his views are aswel. Thanks Danny
  20. Have a daily car mate. Mazda 6 td estate. Z is a weekend car and track weapon. But it could be a whole lot cheaper if it would run on lpg. My last fill up cost £100, and only got 220 miles out of it. Worth every penny but just exploring the options. The legnum lads swear by it. One guy has covered the cost of the car in 3 years being his daily car. They do similar mpg to the Z aswel. Cheers for the advice though. Let's see if anyone has any experience or technical views on this. Thanks Danny
  21. Been pondering on this since I spoke to the legnum vr4 guys at japfest 2. A couple of the are running it on tuned legnums (300bhp, 2.5 twin turbo V6), had them a couple of years and do daily drive, trackdays, dragtrips the lot. 1 of them installs the kits and inspires a lot of confidence with his knowledge. He actually maps the car on log as you would with petrol, with an afr meter etc. Recon a 60 litre spare tyre tank would go in the wheel well. My Z is running 18 psi with full rebuild and gt28 turbos. Any thoughts? Heard the horror stories about valve seats and less lubrication etc. But everything I threw at the legnum guys they had a good answer. Backed up by years of track work with their own cars. Any advice welcome. Used the search but to no evail. Cheers Danny
  22. You going for true dual working mafs? Or 2 mafs, 1 working and 1 as a dummy. You will need a sellin maf translator for that. It meters the air through 1 maf then doubles it and tricks the ecu somehow. What other mods you got? Thought this was only worth it for going above 450bhp. I looked into this at 1 point but though I'd just go for a stand alone ecu and map sensor of I went that far. Then you don't get the issues with rough low rev running from the split intake. Not gospel, it what I've picked up on the way. Sure the experts will be along in due time. Cheers Danny
  23. Its fine thanks mate. Ive got the links etc saved for youtube so that'll do me fine. Great vids there though. Thanks for that. Did I see somewere that it ends up on eurosport? Anyone know when its on. And do they do a final results list, or just top 10? Realise that's a stupid question as its 10 of the best but would just like to know were I stand on the grand scheme of things. Cheers Danny
  24. Have you got a link mate? Im a bit sad but I like to gather every pic and vid of my car in action. 1 day it will be sold forever and I want to look back at it all. See dates are released for totb 2014. Should have enough time to get team sorted for then. Cheers Danny
