Chips, what's the difference?
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these chips? Looking through peoples specs there doesn't seem to be any consistency with which one people choose. My choices as I see it are: John Dixon (1st Choice) JWT Chip SE Chip Thanks peeps.

This Sunday 11th???????????
If you guys are interested there's a bit of a meet next sunday (11th)that I've organised with another club, would be good to get another couple of zeds along. Have a look hereDon't be put off by the short list of atendees, there are normally lots of people who turn up that don't register on the club. I reckon there should be somewhere between 20 - 30 cars.

What size is the top rad pipe please? I need to get a coupling so that I can wire in my temp gauge properly, at the moment I've got both temperature gauges wired into the stock sender unit. :nono:

Actuator problem?
All fixed. The pin on the actuator linkage had broken. Now it boosts instantly, almost like it's on a switch. :)

Actuator problem?
Anyone? Pretty please. How will this effect me driving the car too as it is my daily driver.

Actuator problem?
I've been having boost problems for a couple of weeks, It only comes on full boost at about 5000rpm when it used to be 3000. At 3000 it's only on about 3-4psi :( . I've had a good check around for a possible boost leak and have so far been unsuccessful. It also has a metallic tinkling sound coming from the turbo area which you can only hear at around 2-2500rpm as the throttle is let off. I took it to my local garage today (he's done work for me before) and he had a listen to it and suggested that it could be the actuator. He's getting it up on the ramps for a proper inspection on Tuesday, anything else he should look for? If it is the actuator, is it servicable/adjustable? If not, is it going to hurt me financially? to your wisdom.

Surprising fuel economy
I can't see a phenomenon like this happening very often, especially when I get my boost controler fitted and get it chipped. When I first got it I was getting around 200 miles to £50, just goes to show that it can be done, even if it is pretty boring. Roll on better weather and dry roads.

Surprising fuel economy
Well I'm not sure how I've managed it but I've just done 180 miles on £30. I've got a bit of a boost problem at the mo' so I've not been tempted to "play" as much as normal but you know how it is when someone is trying to hustle, you've just gotta show them. I must be driving like a complete poof!!!!! :x:  Oh, it's a jap spec TT manual.

That one made me suck air through my teeth!!!!! I get what he was doing, just carrying a little too much speed. I bet he doesn't try it again for a while.

Vent ideas
It's a really nice looking bonnet but I agree we Vinz and that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid, wherever you have a vent styled like that it's gonna drop water onto something you don't want it to!!!! I use my Z as a daily driver and I don't have a garage so it's out in the elements at all times.

Vent ideas
Ok peeps, I'm having trouble. I got a spare bonnet a couple of months ago with the intention of venting it. I'm after something fairly subtle but functional as the idea is to draw the heat out rather than force more air in. If you have any ideas, I'm open to all suggestions, so don't be scared to go a bit different. Cheers Alex.

Side light / fog light bulb replacement?
Had mine out yesterday, just feel around with your hand to locate them and then you know where to look. The bottom one is behind the wiring plug so you need to unplug it to get to it. HTH

PS3 - price?
My advice is to stay away from the 1st wave of PS3. I was in the US earlier in the month looking to buy one whilst I was there and the people I spoke to all said that they are extremely unreliable. One guy in a shop had his one on display break 3 times in a week and a half, he had also had back 3 out of 16 sold, makes you wonder how many kids were disappointed on christmas day!!!! After quite a long talk with him he said that he would only sell me one if I really forced him to as they are that bad, also the warranty isn't valid in the UK so had it gone wrong I'd be stuffed. I believe there are 2 versions, 20gb and 60gb, buy the 60gb version as you will (apparently) only want to upgrade later anyway, just like with a 360 core or premium pack. The word on the street is that when the PS3 is launched here the price of the 360 is going to be dropped by £100. Hope this helps. :)

Boost controller
That's at the fly mate, I think its about 257 at the wheels. If that was at the wheels I'd be doing this  I'm thinking with an EBC and a chip around 350 at the fly, am I dreaming or is this reasonable?

Boost controller
I'm looking at getting a Greddy profec-B spec11 boost controller for crimbo, I've already got an Apex'i filter and a de-cat stainless exhaust and is running 306bhp (rolling roaded it a couple of months ago). Can a boost controller be run on this set up effectively or would I need to get it chipped at the same time? Any help appreciated. :)

I went to L.A. last year on holiday and took a trip out to Boyd Coddingtons hot rod shop ("American Hotrod" on Discovery Channel) and met Boyd himself and a few of the guys.
