Hey people, I've been searching to find answers to a weird issue I'm having with my autobox but can't seem to have any luck. Basically, everytime I start the car up the first time during a day and when I set to move off slowly and come to a stop, the car pops out of gear and then goes back into it. It only does this at first when I'm just moving off slowly and then stopping. Once I hit the road a drive a little once its in gear again, its fine then. Any ideas what this might be?? Thanks.:)

I was 17 or 18, first year into my 6th form, it was hometime and many students were out next to the car park. There was me chilling with a few girls and all I heard was a really nice and loud exhaust sound outside school and next thing you hear kids shouting "WOW WHAT A CAR" and stuff. Get to the car park and I see a Red lowered 300 with a nice spoiler and wheels entering the car park. It was a great sight with many students gathering up. Nice bright sunny day. Car parks up and it turned out to be a friend of mine who had come to pick up his cousin. I did hear many times before how much of a nice car he had but never saw it or new what it was. But it was that moment when I decided that yes I am going to buy one of them. I even told the girls that I was gona get that. Then it was about 2 or 2 and a half years later, must've turned 19-20 when I bought my first 300TT. On my second one now.:)

Hello people, Got a bit of a problem here. My twin turbo is acting rather strange. It starts fine, runs fine when driving normal, but when I put my foot down, it just dies out.. It is a manual UK spec which is stalling on me when I put my foot down.. Any ideas what to look at?? Best regards, Zee..

Legrath...A VERY BIG THANKYOU TO YOU FOR BREAKING IT DOWN FOR ME.:bow::bow: I do know that I am really close to getting it started. This step by step surely should do the trick for me. I can hear the fuel pump when ignition on. I personally believe that its the spark plugs as I bought the plugs quite some time ago and they were just lying around in the garage with many other things. But I'll do your suggestions and get back to ya.:) ChrisD...Thanks to you too. Will look into that too if the top doesn't do it for me.:)

Hello people, After a year and a half I have got able to get started with my car that needed a new engine. Mine is a 1990 Jap Auto TT. The engine I'm putting in is a manual one. I did buy the bearing needed for a manual engine to fit in an auto car. The ECU and wiring loom and everything else is still of an auto. Just the engine as a whole was taken out of a manual car which has been dropped in the car. Now the result that one waits for when changing the engine, I can't seem to accomplish. The car is not starting. Its turning and I can hear the clicking while its turning but thats it. The plugs in there are new HKS S40i. Any ideas what I should look at or am I missing something due to it being a manual engine in an auto?? Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. Very similar to what you said. He did tell me that there was oil and shite in the cooler. He is going to look into that for full detail on its condition. Also the bit where you said about the car running fine for a short term bursts and then messing up is what happened. Mate (mechanic) and myself at the moment believe the engine didn't get any cooling hence blew. But maybe we are wrong. Maybe the problem was somewhere else. Anyway I have got a good engine ready to be dropped in which should happen in the next couple of days. Just wanted to know if anyone had any similar issues with their intercoolers and if they could be corrected or did it mean time for a new intercooler. Time will tell. Hope it all goes well. Don't wana lose that cooler.

Thats what I can't understand. I've got a Wings West front bumper and you know what the vent on that is like. But the result was the same as you said. Its the pistons inside that are broken. Believe its no.4 and 6. Slight knocking noise at times when the engine is running and thick white/blue smoke if you accelerate. The past year and a half when the car has been parked up, I never thought that the problem had anything to do with the intercooler. Its just today when he called me and told me the its the intercooler blocked or something and why I believe he is right is because I remember when I got the cooler on, everytime I put my foot down, the temperature guage would drop straight down to cold and come back up the sec I got my foot off the accelerator. But that last night when I was out, I gave it some and noticed the temperature guage needle not move at all. Did think that was strange because that really was not normal. End of the night, making my way home I felt a big jerk and smoke all over the place behind me. Oil guage reader dropping and rising. Car running rough. I suppose I'll just get the cooler checked out and get it reconditioned or something if possible. Just wanted to know if anyone heard of a problem like this and could suggest anything for me to check up regarding the cooler.

Need to find out with what it was blocked with which will do soon as he will look into that. But whatever it is, the problem occurred due to the cooler. Do coolers go wrong?? I've never heard of that to be honest..

Hello everyone, Times are getting better for me as after the Z being sitting in the garage with a blown engine since Feb last year, I have managed to get the funds and all requirements together to put another good engine in it. Dropped the Z off to the garage to get on with it yesterday and found out today that the reason the older engine blew was because my twin HKS intercooler was blocked. What I wanted to know was, what procedures do I get carried out regarding the cooler in order for it to be fine?? and do they blow and if yes can they be reconditioned or is it better to just buy a new one?? Any suggestions regarding a blocked intercooler that blew an engine would be appreciated.. Thanks :) Zee

Na bro.. I work at Renaissance Hotel a bit further down near the airport. Finished work around 11.30pm and was on my home and saw your beast parked up. Definitely one of the nicest I've seen. Makes me curse mine as its off-road. But soon..hehe

I was shocked too when she gave me that quote, gave her a laugh on the phone and ended the conversation saying maybe it was a bad idea calling Autoglass. Will get on to trying the local garages KennyZ on my next day off. :) See what they have on offer. Just wanted to know if this has happened with anyone else and how they fixed it without insurance...

Yeah maybe I was lucky at some point...but then again, whats the point luck kicking in when the damage has been done already. :rolleyes: Can these get fixed elsewhere by others guys???

Hey people, A very very angry man here. :mad: :mad: Last night while I was away doing a night shift, some mother f***in idiots broke into my 300 and stole my DVD player and screen at home. They smashed all my back windows. What I believe happened is, they smashed the rear quarter windows first thinking they'll put their hands through and unlock the car but as the mechanisms are too far forward on our cars, they couldn't get to it, so they smashed the rear window and got in through there. I say this because as there is a foot print on the car boot area and prints on my rear seats. Now I've got a tailgate lying around from which, I can use the window and the quarter windows I'll get hold of soon somehow. The car has been dead for about a year due to a blown engine and due to financial problems, I never could be able to come around fixing it but was going to very soon. Now because the car was off road, I cancelled the insurance. So can't get it fixed that way. I called Autoglass and they quoted me £1126 (discounted price otherwise £1406) for the job with the windows provided. I told them I've got the windows and they said they don't help if they don't provide the windows. So I need to find a garage that can do the job. I'm near the Heathrow area. Anyone know of any place around here?? And any idea how much it should or is going to cost?? I've been making myself hold on to this car only due to the fact that alot of time, money and work has gone into it e.g. intercooler, bodywork, paint job, interior etc. But the way things are going, think I'm going to be either breaking it or getting rid of it the way it is if someone wants to fix her up. Just going to give it a last try to see how much its going to set me back to fix her up as engine work is going to cost £600 and now this has happened. So want to know how much it will cost altogether now to fix her up. Any help appreciated guys.. p.s. hope this doesn't happen to anyone as its one of the worst feelings ever. :mad:
