  1. One answer to all those points.. NO.. PCVs I have worked out how I'm going to get to them but then other commitments took my time. So the next chance I'm going to get to work on it is the weekend. Going to do the whole cleaning TBs and connections and checking as much electrical stuff as possible. I don't have access to conzult or anything that I can hook up to the car to get readings. Anyone in the London area got this stuff??
  2. Right guys, the issue of my gear changes being all over the place has somehow returned. Gear changes got funny at the first when I attempted to clean the induction and MAF. The sensor inside the MAF wasn't touched as each end is netted. However, this was cured when the MAF and induction kit was changed and gearbox wise, everything got back to normal. However, I drove the car a couple of days ago and the issue with gear changes seems to have returned. In detail, Whats happening is, on normal driving, my reverse, 1, 2 and 3 are fine and smoothhhh but, it stays in 3. Overdrive is not kicking in. When I put my foot down, from 1st, the car flies but then redlines for a little longer than normal, then changes to 2nd (here its fine) and then to 3rd and it stays in 3rd. Overdrive doesn't kick in at all. Now again, this has happened before with the first MAF when I took it off for the first time to clean up but then ended up changing which cured this issue but now out of no where it has returned... Any thoughts???
  3. Your a star mate. I'll give that a go tomorrow morning. Hope I manage. Thanks again mate.
  4. Many thanks for your time and expertise there mate. I do have the full brand new PCV kit that I'm looking to get on with and hoping that is the issue. I did have a read of that PCV link a few times and still finding it hard to locate the damn things on the engine lol. Perhaps should look closely. It's just bizarre how you work on these to fix something and instead it comes out worse. Cleaning the induction and maf led to dodgy running and gear changes which led to smoke. Could even be seal somewhere as due to funny gear changes when foot was down which had the car redlining for tad longer than normal that made me think hold on, that wasn't right. But keeping positive.
  5. Hey everyone, Need some input with my issue. Here it comes.... My idling recently got lumpy. I suspected this to be a breathing issue and gave my twin HKS induction, new filters/elements. This didn't solve the lumpy idling, so I then suspected the problem being due to the MAF. I took the MAF off and gave it a clean and connected it all back up. This led to the air flow being all over the place. The gear changes weren't right and upon putting the foot down, the Z seemed to rev up high and engine got loud and power not up to standards. Just didn't boost correctly. I then got hold of a perfectly working MAF and an Apexi induction. This completely cured the idling issue and everything else got back to normal. However, as soon as I sorted this out, I noticed a puff of smoke behind the car. Turns out the drivers side exhaust is smoking slightly. It's not smoking heavy or thick but slightly. On cold start its fine when idling and as car gets warms up, the drivers side exhaust starts puffing out smoke. Its starts of slightly from white/grey to grey/light blue. Now I know the turbo seals is the worst case scenario as I have divorced downpipes and decats so complete straight through exhaust. But I'm trying to be positive and hope the problem hasn't got that far due to the MAF failing and air ratio being all over the place. I read somewhere that the PCVs were linked to the intake system so have ordered a whole new set. Valves and hoses which I have received and am looking to change them. So.. 1. Could I please get some tips on what I need to do to change the PCVs and hoses.. I kind of have an idea from the bits and bobs I have read up here. Just if I could get pin point info on what needs doing. 2. What else should I look at which could have got effected by the encounter above that can be an issue?? Any ideas and heads up would be great guys. The car is boosting/running fine otherwise. I have given it an oil change since but smoking still there. And before the MAF issue there definitely was never any smoking. I keep an eye on the exhausts like a hawk checking for smoke so I know there definitely wasn't anything before. The smoke is smelling of oil burn. Many thanks, Zee..
  6. Alot has changed since this pic was taken. Never got a chance to take new pics but you can see it.
  7. I got them or very similar on mine. Must post a pic one day.

  9. Yup.. All back to normal.. Turns out the intercooler pipe to the passenger turbo was more or less completely off. A little job but as all Z works, a pain to get to. But got there at the end.
  10. Many thanks for the that buddy. Will be looking into all that. I do have a boost leak detector somewhere. Normal driving the car is fine. Just on boosting there are issues. And that loud whoosh sound is a give away that air is being lost through somewhere. Boost guage is the standard one and that is reaching slightly less than what it should be. So hopefully it is within reach to get back to 100%. Thanks again. :)
  11. Hey guys, Z not behaving as she should. Last I took her out was a couple of weeks ago when she was running perfect boosting great. Then I remember on the way home I gave it some foot and it boosted and straight away I felt a jerk and then I eased my way home. But something did trigger a problem with that jerk I felt. Then today I took her out after a couple of weeks and it wasn't boosting right. Basically, upon putting my foot down, the boost kick in point is fine but it doesn't hold boost and it lags and car kinda gradually gets its speed up. Also when it starts to lose the hold on the boost, I definitely hear a loud whooooshhhh sound coming somewhere from the front of the car. On idle its perfect, not lumpy or anything that says something wrong with the car. I cant hear the whoosh sound when reving in nuetral. Just when driving on boost I can hear it. Also the last bit of boost it holds before whooshing sound, it slightly hesitates as if some boost is going through and then not. Gear changes are funny due to all this too when boosting. I hope I have popped a pipe off somewhere and nothing more. Any ideas where I should be looking?? Many thanks.
  12. Hey guys, Are the front wings from a UK Z straight swappable with an import Z?? And am I right in thinking that the targas definitely are not the same?? I'm sure I've read that here somewhere already. Just making sure. Many thanks
  13. Dammit. That makes the date the 1st. My MOT and tax expire on the 31st. I need to sort out a thing or two for it to go through the MOT. I shall try and get them sorted this thursday or friday as I'm off work then. If not, my cousin should be good to go. I'll confirm with him. If all is good, Sat 9pm would be fine.
  14. Hmmm seems like there are a few of us near the Heathrow area.. A day should definitely be organised.. Me and my cousin would definitely pull out the 300s.. Just got to sort out a day which is not so sudden due to work lol.. But definitely up for something guys :thumbup1:
  15. Hey guys, Any instructions on how to get a door window out?? From what I can think, 1) door trim off, 2) bolt in A pillar and then maybe 2 on the mechanism lifting the window.. Or is there more to it?? Kind wishes, Zee..:)
  16. Is he making all 3 bits for you?? How much is he charging?? (if you don't mind me asking) I'd like to buy a full set too..
  17. A friend of mine made K300 MAL look like that. He bought it standard off someone. But that is me enjoying the car when this pic was taken..
  18. I is probably wired wrong. Have you sliced the wires in or did the timer come with a harness and fit its directly?? Mine is sliced in and I'll take a pic of it for you that shows which wire is sliced into which in the ignition.
  19. You shouldn't have to do that and it should do exactly what you want it to do.
  20. I did look into that but its definitely not that. I got a mate of mine to bounce the suspension while I was tracking it and from under the bonnet it seems to be coming from right next to the suspension mount. Looked under the arch and its the bit right behind the wheels on top. Would be great if someone tells me what they did to cure it..
  21. Hi guys, I've got this real nasty squeeking sound coming from under both the front arches. It sounds like dry rubber or something. Tracked it down today and it seems to be the joints of the metal bar right behind and on top of the front wheels (if that makes any sense) which I suppose are the top suspension arms. Think its their bushes that have had it. Anyone ever had this or heard of this issue??
