Sump/ rear main leaks
I hope you are right about rear seals not being an issue all the time as mine has just gone in today for an inspection on where my Z has its oil leak.. I believe mine leaks only when its being driven.. She can be parked up for a whole week undriven and I never get any oil underneath on the floor.. My last oil change was end of December time and about a week back I checked my oil level in the morning and it was half filled.. Jacked the car up and found oil residue around the sump/rear main seal area but no dripping.. So there is a very slight oil leak somewhere for it to be half filled after 3 months of oil change.. So hope its the sump and not rear seal as mine's and auto and its a whole gearbox off job which can be financially disturbing a little..

rear screen trim
I had a glass removed from a hatch to fit my Z's hatch quite some time back. I got hold of a guy who worked for Autoglass who came over and used a sharp cutting tool to cut through the bonding between the glass and hatch in one spot of it. This can be done at any point of the screens sides from the inside of the hatch. He then put through the area that he has cut through the bond of, a thin wire..The wire was connected to a gripping tool on both ends which he grabbed and then sliced his way around the hatch cutting the bonding between the hatch and glass..You do have to be very careful if doing it this way especially right at the end bit of the bonding making sure the hatch does NOT put weight on the glass at all or at the last stages of cutting the bonding, the hatch should not pull or push from the glass at all as a little weight would shatter the glass. The bonding is extra strong around the corners of the glass.. I hope I have made this clear..:)

Leaky turbo seals - cause occasional exhaust popping??
From what I have heard, decatting does result in turbo seals giving up as that increases the back pressure a little..Not sure if I believe that as I had my Z decatted about 3 years ago and ain't had a problem..Yet anyway..But I have read on this forum that decatting would make your seals give up..And if only just changing your exhaust system has done this, then maybe your seals were on their last legs and abit of back pressure done them over.. The popping could be unburnt fuel.. The experts should put more light into this soon...:)

You said you don't like that front bumper...If you ever want to get rid of it, you contact me straight away pal...:devil2: My first Z (pic below)..Used to love the kit on it..Got into a crash with it about 4 years ago and had to break it to get some money back to get another Z..Sold the kit to a member hear around the same time..Been after that front bumper ever since...:)- Got something to show you guys...........
Congrats bud..Great car for sure..I remember looking at the for sale add when it was first put on sale and thought to myself that if I was looking to buy a Z at the time, it would've been this one.. Enjoy it bud..HAPPY ZEDDINGGGGGG....:)- Steering Gaitors (Both)
Hi everyone, Z passed its MOT this morning...:) Just both the front steering gaitors need replacing..Have we got anyone here that sells these or is Nissan my best option??? Best regards, Zee..:)- Ya'll with uprated side mounts..
I honestly just read about all that stuff a little while ago on here..I haven't moved anything behind..Just removed the undertray due to the coolers sitting lower than the tray..Dunno if that is any good but must do some good I suppose..Air ducts I suppose is the only way to get abit more air in there if you want to keep the side lights..I wanted to see if anyone had done any other mods to get air to the coolers..Maybe put smaller side lights with indicators in that area and have the rest bit left to allow air through..But dont think that will look too good..Someones gotta have done something different..Just thought I'd check and see how it looks.. Might have to get this done properly but changing the front bumper with one that has a bigger area to let air through..Not too fond of the current bumper anyway..- Ya'll with uprated side mounts..
Hello everyone.. Hope you are enjoying your Zs with your roofs off. I sure have been as the sun has been out the past few days down London..:) What I want to know is what people with aftermarket side mounts have done to their bumpers to allow the air to flow through to the coolers right. I have got Pace side mounts which are very big compared to the stocks and a big portion of them is hidden due to the bumper I have on. The pick up and boost of the car has been sluggish at times and I always felt (the past 2 years that she has been on the road especially) that the car has got more excitement to give with a few niggles done here and there. So last night I bothered taking the bumper side lights off which revealed about the rest half of the coolers and I took the car for a spin and WOAHHHHHH..she was an ANIMAL..The sound of the turbos spooling was grrreat..I have been giving the ducts some thoughts recently but dont think they would do me much good as the hole in them is not big enough till where I know..So am looking to invest in a V1 bumper via Zcentre as that seems to be the only one with massive scoops for air flow to the side mounts. So would just like to see what you people have done to get your aftermarket side mounts to suck in air right... Pics would be great.. Best regards, Zee...:)- 99 spec or not
Leave the lights as they are bud..99s would look odd due to the shade of them whereas the shade of the stock goes perfect with the rest of your car overall...- waiting for spring
We have the same taste in cars..Black Z and Red Rover...:) lol- Anyone remember this thread
The front is not the same anymore on that one...Seen it a few times..Does look the business though..A different colour and the rear spoiler dropped on the boot would finish it off completely me thinks..- Route of cars to getting the Z
For me it was: - 1..K reg 1.6 Honda civic LSI (Hatchback) 2..L reg 1.6 Honda civic LSI (Hatchback) with a maxed out bodykit 3..was a big jump straight on to a J reg 300ZX TT which I lost the rear end on and smacking it into a kerb hard and cracking the chassis in the are where the rear suspension and all was fitted. 4..bought myself another 300ZX H reg TT which I still have. 5..a rover 420 TD which is my run around now too..- temperature problem
Yup..It defo feels as if it's not as fast as it should be the whole time when driving it..I did think that it would be the thermostat giving me problems..Think I'll change that to start with anyway, and if it still doesn't work out for me, I'll carry out the processes mentioned by the good people on this thread above...:) By the way, where would I find the thermostat in my car?? (still a novice here after 5-6 years of ownership) lol- temperature problem
The guage shows that it takes a long time for the car to warm up. Even when driving it does not rise by much. Normal temp on stock guage, the needle should be in the middle once hot I suppose, but mine reaches hardly a quarter on stock guage, doesn't give out much warm air via heater and the needle drops lower when driven. It's not losing water as I always check my water and oil levels everytime before taking the car out..- temperature problem
Many many many thanks guys..I will give all these a go..Something should defo work out..:) The stock guage does show that the temperature is trying to go up very very slowly but drops back down when I drive it and air from heater is slightly warm but just not hot to keep the inside warm.. Will update you guys..:) Thanks again..- temperature problem
Thanks bud..Will get onto this..:)- temperature problem
Hello people, Got a bit of a problem that has been there for quite sometime but is in need to be fixed now. My Z just never seems to hit the normal running temperature. I know the stock gauge is absolutely rubbish. But my heater doesn't give out proper hot air. If the temperature does rise a little, and I give it the foot, the temperature drops back down. So I've got a Z with no hot air inside. So am completely freezing in car and the leathers don't help either. Is it the thermostat that is the problem here???- Happy Birthday Gumball3000
Happy birthday buddy...:)- Spacers..
Many thanks FunkiSi. :)- Spacers..
Perhaps I was unclear..Was wanting to know if anyone has any experience with these incase these are crap in quality as I've seen the price range going up till £170-180ish..- Spacers..
Hey peeps, Anyone got any info on these?? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-5X114-3MM-20mm-ALLOY-WHEEL-SPACERS_W0QQitemZ350251467443QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item518c9d42b3- Another one of those wheel & tyre threads
I've got 255 35 18s on the front mate and have no problems. On the rears I've got 275 35 18s and am having a hard time with my rear driver side tyre hitting the arch on bad bumpy roads. But that has to be due to a bad suspension or something as the passenger side does not hit what so ever. So if you got a good suspension setup, you should be fine..:)- My 1996 Zed - Pic Heavy
Normally, not alot people are a fan of that front bumper but THAT LOOKS AWESOME mate. I can see her turning heads where ever she goes..:) - New-ish members ride (FAO FunkySi)
