  1. Alright Poirot  I still don't know Mike, just think the 1st posts were a bit unfair. And didn't you go on a massive rant at Jeff about his posts not too long ago?
  2. Oh I agree he shouldn't have bitten like that. Just not sure if the digs originally were fair. He did then come on to give the OP some useful background which will hopefully help get things sorted. I don't know Mike, but I can see why he got riled to be fair.
  3. Who paid the auction house?
  4. Looks like being sold by motorhub in Keighley. Check out some of their reviews for a laugh...not sure I'd take the risk myself.
  5. Assuming they are one and the same place, the reviews are bloody scary reading :scared:
  6. That's the one! Seemed to remember him being a nice guy. Love to see some pics of it...
  7. Jays black SWB wide arch....think you found a pic not long ago of it? And who had that orange one? Want to say username 'monster' or something! Specced out by a big tuning company who's name escapes me at the mo...not necessarily my cup of tea but it was interesting!
  8. I do see your point but thought it a bit odd as the risk to him is far greater. If he points out damage that the owner (having an intimate knowledge of their own pride and joy) knows for a fact wasn't their before, is going to know it was him....just as much chance of it affecting his business. How will you enforce it? If the worst does happen and he damages an interior, how will you know they were there? Knowing the disclaimer is in place I doubt they'll admit it.
  9. Maybe missing the point, but if someone's interior gets damaged away from your workshop and post completion, how could it ever be your responsibility?
  10. Saw it yesterday and thought it was pretty poor. Needed to cut a swathe of the side plots and characters out, even then the remainder wasn't great...a shame cos I thought TFA was setting a good scene.
  11. Talking of black shorties, what happened to Jays wide arch? One of my favourite cars over the years.
  12. I'd be a schoolboy virgin with you Steve. Wouldn't have a clue where to start either...good on you for posting and being willing to try and sort it without just taking it to a garage. You'll know for next time which is how you learn!
  13. If it was a clean zed before then it's a shame, but if it was rescued from scrap then cool to do something different IMO...
  14. After Brexit and what's happening over the pond with the Presidential election (Donald Trump, really??), would we really want to give "the people" a vote?? Who knows what abomination we'd have have up in the stand?? :glare: Jokes aside, the committee give up their free time for the club so clearly have its best interests at heart. Sure there is a lot of boring stuff behind the scene that we don't know about and probably don't want to know about that they deal with regularly. If they've made this decision, then trust that they believe it's the best for the club.
  15. That's bloody gorgeous....damn I need another Z in my life. Destroy him on his special day :biggrin:
  16. I'm not that mechanically minded if I'm honest and struggled to find someone to work on them locally. 1st gave me no issues but the 2nd was a little niggly and as a daily was a bit of a pain....one of the reasons I was trying to sell before the girlfriend wrote it off! Was nearly 10 years ago so would want to be more hands on this time round if need be. Any pics of your new car?
  17. Hoping to be an owner from Watford...on the lookout at the mo. Had 2 before and need another!
  18. Yup, that's it. Back in my younger days I was sticking budget Marshall tyres on etc. Would love a garage as would make life easier but hey ho. Back in the day there were loads available for not much money. Its not the best timing in all honesty as just had twins so the wife is off on maternity but in a year or so could be even harder to find the right one.
  19. Cheers both, need to research rebuild costs etc so haven't got a budget as such yet. Not really after a full on restoration project, so am prepared to spend a reasonable amount for the right one, though as lovely as that import is, would say is out of my price range. Yeah, it's been niggling ever since so have always kept an eye on the forum over the years...helps my wife has always had a soft spot for them!
  20. I've owned 2 Zeds about 10 years ago back when frankly couldn't really afford/appreciate them. Originally bought an auto TT SWB but sold it due to being skint. Probably the better of the 2 and regret selling that. Then bought a manual TT LWB a few months later but this one my girlfriend (now wife!) crashed coming off a roundabout...though was trying to sell it at the time. Had a few niggles with this and was a daily so was a hit and miss relationship. Now, several years later and more settled am really contemplating getting a 3rd. If I had a garage would be a cert but I don't so might have to replace my daily due to drive space....though would probably keep both for a while and see how it goes. The thing I struggled with last time was lack of local mechanics wanting to work on them so my current ideal plan would be a solid body with buggered engine. Then have a fresh rebuild from Jimmer which seems as good as guaranteeing reliability as anything. Second option is a fresh import as been some great examples popping up from the site traders! Anyway, am keeping an eye out. Would be great to get one for the summer as have some good memories from last time round. Am happy with LWB or SWB and would prefer a manual but actually enjoyed the auto so not set against...will see what pops up!!
  21. I like that a lot! Some of the bits aren't usually my cup of tea but they just seem to work on yours. :thumbup1::thumbup1:
  22. As you found, there are UK laws to protect us as buyers, but unfortunately if you decide to go overseas then you do lose this protection. We are in the UK, buying JDM parts from a US company...it's not straightforward. It sounds like Jose has probably never seem the genuine article and I guess this is the reason some dealers here refuse to deal with imports. I really hope you do get a larger share back because you have done nothing wrong but suspect PayPal are your best chance....though not sure how they deal with overseas transactions.
