  1. great stuff, will order cambelt kit etc. and get done asap. Thanks again for tips, will take on board, except the one about splitting the belt.:) JeffTT, what do you charge for this, its an NA mind, not so many bits to take off, discount etc.!!?? and can you supply parts or do I still have to get them.
  2. Doh!, yep meant 16th march, I did say Sunday though, or if thats too short notice then 23rd March or.........! Well any interest?
  3. No takers then!!!! If anyone interested, you could suggest another location/date?
  4. Thaks for info. guys, however I was under the impression that 54K was time to do cambelt change, but some of you refer to 60K as being the mileage to do it at. I suppose it would be better to do it earlier, but that extra 5k means a bit longer to save up for it. Any thoughts or input. I could check handbook I suppose?
  5. Great news Eric, welcome to the madhouse! Where in bristol are you, I'm in Kingswood/St. george/Hanham bordr borders on the Kingsway. As for Service etc. I have been using Motormend ( martin, great guy!) onn charlton road, Great for basic stuff, like general service and the like. also a lot cheaper than Wessex. I have been using them for past 8years, done 2 services on my NA zed so far. Have used proechnical ltd, Nailsea for speedo conversion/ rear fog, and QAS in Filton for aotobox/electrical probs. Or of course theres good old Wessex, who to be fair have been pretty good in getting parts quickly and are friendly, even when I say its an Import. I did suggest a Bristol meet, but no replies to date!!!
  6. Try these, This is a post I prepared earlier!! PIAA do H3c bulbs 85w (55w draw) for dipped beam available from PIAA stockists at http://www.PIAA.co.uk. I have super whites, but they are expensive at £26 +vat each. Mains are H1 suggest you get phillips or similar 100w ok (draw 60w i think) Fogs are H3 again use philips or similar, use 55w + 30% output = 72w, nice and bright when used with dipped. You just need to change standard spade connector on new bulb to push ball type. I have been running the above on these dark nights with no problems so far! :D
  7. Hi guys/gals, its coming up to the dreaded cambelt replacement time in my Jap NA soon at 54K. What I want to Know is what else should I be thinking about replacing/looking at /checking while front is in bits, that is sensible to do at the same time to save future expese/time etc.? Is it also a must to source correct belt etc. from Mr.Nissan, bearing in mind what JeffTT has been saying and does this also apply to other engine service replacemnt parts? The work will probably be done by local garage, who have been very good so far and work on BM,s , Lotii, mercs etc. as well as mine, but may use jap specialists Protech in Nailsea, will get quote first! Would use Zedworld, but mucho distance from bristol! Any thoughts/advice appreciated. Any body had this done and what did it cost.
  8. Looking good for meet, we now have a few to start venturing a date and Venue. Check your diairies for say Sunday 17th March at 12.00 ( pubs open) The old Lock and Weir/Chequers pubs by the River Avon, in Hanham, Bristol. Fairly easy to get to via.M32/ Dual carriage ring road to Hanham, then little windy road to river. Will post map nearer time if OK. I suggest this not only as there are two pubs next to each other, which both do nice food, but has Very large car park, and its by the river. Date is flexible of course, but got to start somewhere! Hope the sun starts to shine by then!
  9. Keep the Bristol meet zeds coming! It would useful to be able to do a location search, so we could contact those not live at present. Spring is here, birds, flowers, sunshine!!! and Zeds with lids off??
  10. Try Protechnical Ltd in Nailsea -www.protech-uk.co.uk, near Brstol, They did speedo, de-limit and foglight on mine and had few other Zeds in shop for work.
  11. MAC 1, yes I have seen pearl white conv. in Portishead and central bristol, got chromed standard wheels and us US plates!! Come on you lot! I know there must be more of you Bristle Zedders out there. I'm not from Bristol originally, emigrated from Saarf ( south) London quite a few years ago. Thanks to those who have replied, hope to get a few more, then will canvas atime and place. :) :)
  12. I know this is not the right place, but-- Will all the Bristol and surrounding areas Zed people please own up! The idea is to have a local meet in the near future. There are 3 I know of at present. Yewcheck, Carl and myself. Any others think this is a good idea?
  13. Dump it and get an MP3 player, you can get 10/11 albums on one CD, if you have a computer that is. Great fun and very C O O L:) :D :)

Vicky, Instead of a spade type connector, they (nissan god bless them ) have used a rounded end, which pushes into a tube, you know what I mean!! Just imagine a train going into a tunnel.......etc. Anyway it is easy to change, I just cut off spade conn. off new bulb and spliced on old round end conn. from old 35w H3 to new bulb wire. The most time consumming bit is taking the foglight out and dissambling it to get at the bub in the first place. Hope that helps

  16. I put FK451's ( Falken ) on in November and wearing well so far, but only done about 3k on them. Great in dry, and I dont push it the wet, but mines only an NA. Paid £292 for set, incl. dredded VAT and balance etc. on standard 16" rims. Cool V pattern similar to SO3's. RATED tread wear 280, Traction -AA, Temp rate A. All of which, I understand to be good.
  17. Dave, just noticed your post! I live on the Kingsway, parked outside most of the time. Call in if passing. There are a few other Zeds around Bristol, but not on this site? I have seen nice grey one with GTR rear lights and a White convertable in Portishead where I work. :D
  18. The only true way to check MPG is to fill to brim, go on trip, fill to brim on return and calculate MPG on mieage covered and the refill amount. I concur with Dylan, tank size is about 15.85 uk galls.
  19. Hey yewcheck where abouts in bristol are you. I'm in hanham/st.george. and how can you leave your zed neglected like that. I NEED to drive mine all the time!:)
  20. Try AndyZ in trading area on this site, I am sure he has one.
  21. Willie0 - that sounds good to me also, How much did you pay the Kenwoods? Did you do anything with the fronts, which are not too bad I suppose.
  22. has your car been de-limited, if not, cruise will not work over 70mph. mine has been adjusted to work at any speed above 30mph.

I use standard UK TT Nissan pads in my NA and they are definitely better than the original jap pads. They dont have the wear indicator tabs or the central score of the original, but do stop better. You can order the originals fron Nissan for the same cost, takes 24hrs.
  24. I use Coversure Insurance Services, Underwritten by Norwich Union. Apparently nearly all Import car insurance is underwritten by NU. Anyway I paid £780 (4yrs NCB) for Fully Comp. and Business use and wife ( but only when shes a good girl ). Got 4 points too. They insisted on Cat 1 Immob. though. CIS tel. no. 01225 774443 or http://www.coversure.co.uk/trowbridge Helpfull and monthly payments for those not fush with cash.
  25. Try http://www.300zxclub.com US based with lots of info. on Z31's Good luck, but rekon you would better of with the CRX to start.
