I actually bidded on these before I read the description and realised the seller who is Z32-Zone stated "I can only do cash on delivery" which meant even if I won the auction I probably wouldn't have got my hands on these super rare T-tops anyways. Thank god I got outbided withing a few hours of making my bid.

No good to us in the north as we need the clock to show both MPH and KM/H to pass the MOT. What about in the South Jay do you need both or just KM/H ?
Crazy how NI mot regs differ from mainland uk. You would expect it to be the same.

It's probably because it directly borders landmass which work in kilometers I'd imagine which are why the regs are slightly different. ROI uses kilometers rather than miles. All vehicles sold in ROI are based on continental European specification (apart from being RHD) unlike UK vehicles which are generally of different spec to the rest of Europe.

It is mate plus I could get my Z moted on the mainland UK with MPH clocks and it would be legal here! I guess a lot of cars here travel over the North South border a lot and need both.

Speedo unit of measurement isn't part of the test in England

But you need MPH clocks. KM/H clocks would fail a UK mot.
It can read anything mate. We dont check this on uk mot.

I never knew that Chris. So you can pass a UK mot with KM/H clocks.
It could read murray mints per yard mate it doesnt matter. It doesnt even have to work.

Does that include the odometer?
This isnt checked either Andrew. Doesnt even need to be displayed at all.

I though that the mileage a vehicle has covered was recorded as part of the test to help combat clocking?
Its recorded if its diplayed, but if its not displayed it doesnt affect the outcome of the test.

Learn something new every day [emoji106]1: Thanks for the info Chris.
No problem Gary. Maybe a MOT specific sticky could be created?

AFAIK the units don't matter here, and rightfully so. If you're speeding it's your own fault anyway. Probably would fail a test if the speedo doesn't work though.
