There has been a few interested parties that want to be apart of the NEC so I just wanted to gauge how many of you would like to take part this year.

This may not be for everyone as being the classic car show we need the highest of quality as we can for the show and a few rules to go.

1.) You need to arrive more than likely pre 9AM the day before the show starts for setup.

2.) Your zed can't be removed from the stand until the late evening of the following Sunday.

3.) The hotels may be part subsidised by the club but this depending on interest and costs. (we will know after we gauge the interest).

4.) Meals need to be paid for by the individuals, ie. its not JAE so we cant have a BBQ, :(

Wha is it ?

It's his own metal wide-arched creation.

Yes Minsk it is. A 300zx tt manual. UK car. Metal wide arches if cause. It's my Gtr 300zx lol.

Thank you Mondo,,,, my Auto correct on me phone again. Its gonna be more of a love hate car this one for sure.... ;)

Probably more suited to Japfest then. ;)

You have to bear in mind that the Classic Car Show is not a modified car event. The types of people interested in or have an appreciation of modified cars (with the exception of race prepared vehicles) and bodykits just won't be there.

Which is quite ironic as none of the club cars displayed over the last 2 years have been standard! [emoji51]

But they are close enough to it with OEM body's (bumpers) where dasstech has a completely aftermarket body. Which is what Si is leading to I think

I'm out then unless I buy another

And why not

As Mondo is quick to point out a roof scoop is apparently not a tasteful modification or an OEM part (personally I think he's jealous- maybe a birthday present is in order)

However I think you'll find it falls into the category of stripes, fake stickers, huge wheels and furry dice.

All of which are scientifically proven to make your car go much faster!

I know, I was just winding Simon up. Although the fact remains that there is a point or a certain mod that will change the perspective of the car? I know there is a general consensus of this "point" but that must vary slightly so who is the the judge? What is the benchmark?

If it was done on a point scoring system where non standard modifications deducted points and whoever was closest to zero wins, a roof scoop would definitely deduct 68points.

Other than mechanical upgrades and minor OEM+ body changes, they represent the car's original essence. I will be reverting back to stock on some other bits soon as personally, that's how I like them. Nissan got the car pretty much spot-on straight out of the box which is why I've loved the car for over 25 years! :)

Was the whole reason you wanted a slicktop was to bolt a roof scoop onto the top :D

Great to see this post, I was thinking am I the only club member who wants my car as original as possible..... I will always do what's best to ensure my car is technically and aesthetically at its original best, but, genuinely don't want to do anymore than enjoy the car as is, for me, its plenty powerful enough, got its own identity, looks great and the lights and body styling are functional and attractive. Don't get me wrong, I totally get the mods and upgrades owners carry out and the desire to have ones car as individual/powerful as possible, but I'm just happy to own and drive my motor as she is. Probably cos i'm an old fart with clean fingernails and short pockets has something to do with it as well. I expect as I venture into the wonderful world of Zeds I may well change my mind and get blinging and upgrading like a good un, but for now, I'm happy with Purple Haze as she is.

Well mine is not a stock body as i have had both knees replaced so does that make the NEC classic show not the place for me to made welcomed at as I don't have a stock body!!

I believe this whole stock or not thing is getting a bit subjective. What i think would be best would at the end be a vote, so if people think that a car is not worthy of representing the club/car, just don't vote :)

My car is not stock body either so maybe I shouldn't go either!

I possibly cannot take mine either then dan, I don't have an oem radio! :tt2:
