Cant believe that i am so close to getting my zed back....its been nearly a year but now she is ready . just the MOT to do and get the sticky gauges sorted out then she will be coming home for good..... thanks to Jimmer for treating big red like she was his own ...for never giving up..and for sorting out all the niggles and glitches ...a few hiccups along the way but that is life with zeds...

but soon ..very soon i will be a very happy man .....im just thinking do i need to fit small spacers on the back rims just to push them out a tad ...maybe 10 mm ? was hoping not to do this as i paid a lot for the image alloys to be custom built but the measurements were taken wrong *(twice)*and i ended up with the rim depth thats on it ..it doesnt look bad to be honest but i think it should fill the arches more ..what do you think ???

Fantastic news Steve

With all the stress, dramas and heartbreak you have had with various long running issues regarding the car for one reason or another delighted that you are finally with the working finished article and can start to enjoy the car

 great news Steve, she is a stunner and look forward to some more pics

thanks guys

just one more little hurdle now , the MOT and sticky reluctant to work all the time Gauges , once Jim has sorted those she will be back with me ...seriously cant wait ....pity its close to winter but im sure i will get a few good sunny dry if cold days to enjoy it :)

it does need dropping a bit for sure , its on coil overs so its relatively easy front seems spot on , maybe a 10 mm drop on there too

When you drop the rear, the lip on the underside of the fibre glass arch will probably foul on the tyre. I had to trim back the lip on mine with a dremmel to gain sufficient clearance.

Great looking car, have seen it recently when Ive been at Jimmers.

i thought it might possiblt foul so may just space it an dleave the height as is or play trial and error to see ho wuch i can drop it without fouling ..did you take any pics when you were dremeling like a good un ?

It'll be strange seeing that car gone from Jim's (I spend quite a lot of time there and it's become part of the furniture)! :)

No pictures I'm afraid Steve. I can take a picture of what's left of the arch if that helps, lol

excellent mate "Never Gets Driven " love it

Just enjoy it as Joel said. You can check your clearance between the arch and wheel face with your finger at present I recon. Just make sure to do it when the car is on the floor so there is a true reflection of the distance. Those fibreglass wings do have a fair lip on the back. Do you still have hicas? Obviously the wheel will move in the wheel well as well.

hi Stephen

no mate i had the HICAS deleted and a lock out bar fitted years ago, the suspension is pretty stiff its all poly bushed and mostly adjustable with stillen anti roll bars front and rear and on K sport coilovers so there is not much body roll as it is set up at the moment

I had a look at your wheels, the lip is recessed and looks near impossible to keep polished. Personally I'd have yours diamond cut and lacquered. My LMs have diamond cut rims which are lacquered.

My old Advan Siena wheels were bare polished alloy and I used a 2-stage method. Firstly I'd polish them Autosol (which is quite abrasive) and then I'd finish off with a product called 'Briliant' which is a much finer solution.

I never drove it in the wet - maintaining polished wheels on a car that gets used in the wet is horrible. My LMs are maintenance-free pretty much although I do polish and seal them.

I managed to keep a really deep shine on my Advans, but it was loads of effort.

thanks for that Si ..yep they are a pig to get clean in the recess .....my son has smaller fingers so its pocket money + time for him :)

What you could do, get some blue tack and build up little blocks round the arch about 10mm. Take it for a low speed spin, go too fast and they will just Pop off anyway. The tyre makes contact with the blue tack it will pop off. That way you will know if at any point the tyre moved within that distance of the arch.

good idea...... my mate has a go pro that he can stick to the body work with suckers .....might do that then i can physically see when i down load the footage ....ive seen it on TV checking for bonnet engine clearance using blue tac or Plasticine
