Alright guys and gals. Finally got a z32. 1991. Twin turbo manual. Very happy. It does however look a bit tired on the paint but nothing I can't sort there. Done 90000. Mechanically it's great. No smoke. Boost needle where it should be. Sounds great. New timing belt. Very happy. However. What are the tell tail signs the clutch is going?

Pictures later date as I don't know how to put them on as I am on my phone aha

What have you done to that poor car? :x:

Edited by Funkysi

I'm not feeling the front bumper mountings personally....

I am not sure what mechanical operation those cable ties are there to perform?

I think they're track fixings for easy removal of the front bumper, is this going to be a drift / track car Joel??

I personally wouldn't put them on a road car, but to each their own :thumbup1:

I am liking the removal of that rear spoiler though, car looks much cleaner from the rear mate:thumbup1:

The only thing about the spoiler removal is that the cars that have them stock has a big hole for the brake light, so you will either need to weld it up or get a new tailgate :S

The 300zx does look nice without a spoiler though.

UK models don't. You also don't have to weld up anything if you fit a replacement TBL.

As far as no spoilers on Z32s - I find it only works on the 2 seater variant. Looks like a boat on the 2+2. My Z came over from Japan without its spoiler and whilst I don't like the one I have anymore, they still look more balanced with something on the boot IMO.

^^^ Agreed.

My old black LWB had no spoiler when I bought it and the back half just looked wrong!

But all anyone needs to do if they do remove the 89 Spec spoiler is to buy the perspex strip for the bootlid. No unsightly holes on the back edge then :thumbup1:

Definitely in agreement there. LWB IMO looks strange without a rear spoiler; it looks too balanced, meaning that the front and rear profile lines are too similar. It reminds me of how a child would draw a car.

Something I noticed. Do yourself a favour and remove those Scotchlocks. They're not water resistant and should only be used on internal electrics (not that I'd use them anyway). Cut - solder - heatshrink. :)

Going for a track car yeah but the fittings have been such a big help in the time it takes to get the front bumper off. As I have had to get different things for the intercooler fitting... move the car etc

Sorry haven't posted in a while. Been quite busy though...

Genuine wings west plastic front bumper

Fibreglass wings from zcentre... thanks luke

Noticed the paint was bubbling on the rear arch slightly. After inspection it was worse than I thought. Treat all the rust areas and filled the holes. Update coming soon on this...

I have made a intercooler spray system today. Simple really and cost 20 quid. Would have been less but I wanted a better pump. Really does lower the intake temp of the car.

What I did:

Locate an area to mount the water bottle

Make a bracket to fit

4mm hoses to go from the bottle to the pump then to the misters

Drill 2 holes in the bumper for the misters

Wire the pump to a button in the interior then from the button to the battery. And there we go :)
