Si, you were curious as to what the wheel would look like once fitted.

I got round to finishing it today.

I covered the normally silver bits in faux leather that Si from Hide n seat kindly donated to me.

i dont like it but thats me. its pretty much the same a navara steering wheel. you should get a complete steering wheel with buttons to work with your stereo if you are going to keep that steering wheel. the nissan logo looks alot better i think :)

Hi all, not sure if I should be resurrecting this old thread or making a new one but based on the above would it be do-able to replace a series 1 steering wheel (with cruise controls) with a 370Z one? Would look for an auto-electrician to connect up the buttons (it's one of the main drivers for changiing the wheel as I want stereo controls) but mainly wondering if it would fit, ie if the rake or whatever is compatible, what fitting kits/bosses might be needed and whether it would be possible to keep the middle part/horn of the wheel without an airbag in it/

Cheers!

You would need to confirm the spine size of the 370z wheel. The 350z spline size is identical to the 300zx so it slips straight on and just needs minor mods for the hicas slip ring cut out. If the spline is different, I wouldn’t imagine you’d get it on with a boss adapter as it’ll be too deep and you’ll have to sit in the back seat to drive!

Once you’ve removed all the fancy trim, these wheels are just big lumps of metal so if you really wanted the 370z wheel, it wouldn’t be too difficult to fabricate the 300zx spline section in place of the 370z. I’d say that will be a significantly easier task than you face trying to make all the buttons on the wheel function correctly!

Ah nice, cheers buddy! I'll go and check on the 350 forums then to see if anyone's fitted one to a 350, to see if the spline's the same - sounds likely though if it was unchanged from the 300 to the 350.
