As some of you would have seen on another thread I treated myself to a new 300zx this weekend.

It's a very late model, series 6 1999 model in midnight purple

I took a huge gamble with the car buying it blind off eBay with a description identical to one a few years back and terrible photos.

It was previously in the club and owned by forum member Craig David (Tim) who was the first UK owner. He took great care of the car but unfortunately it was passed around an Albanian family after that and with numerous trips to Albania and back and seemingly never been cleaned it had been neglected and was grimey and slimey and generally un-cared for.

I managed to negotiate on the price and got it for a good price. The journey home of 120 miles was cracking and it drives perfectly. I've spent the last few months lusting after a '70s Datsun Z car and was lined up to import one from the states, but this came up and I just had to have it. I couldn't help but notice how much I felt at home driving the Z back!

Sunday morning came round and I couldn't wait to get the car washed and polished and looking half reasonable again. It did need a bloody good scrub, and I only had time for a quick polish, but as you can see from the pictures it's starting to look like a cared-for car once again, and call me sad but I can't stop looking at pictures of it  well chuffed. And the colour is gorgeous :)

Here's some pics, a few befores and afters too.

Thanks guys I've definately got the Z bug back!

Steve - as far as I know there was only ever one style of '99 front bumper, regardless of model.

Devil - midnight purple is the best colour but good luck finding one! I only know of one other one in the uk, but would like to find out if there's more! Pics on a cloudy day don't do it justice. Can't wait for the sun to get on it!

Do not ruin it or break it! Promise?

On a serious note I do hope you will be using it this summer and to actually put a face on you.

Question though? Did all 99 spec Z32's have a standard bumper with intakes for intercoolers as yours is an N/A right?

All late model cars had the same bumper irrespective of engine designation. :)

Haha no wide arches on this one, but maybe some different wheels and suspension alterations to help with the stance, although I do think it looks awesome as it is :)

Congratulations on your new buy mate stunning motor. Hopefully see you at a few meets later this year
