Hi guys,

 

Was bored at work so I thought I'd make a thread from start to finish of how I bought my zed shell from Sussex stu till now.

I know I have a couple of threads with photos of respray and another with the build but thought I'd put all the pictures so to try and see how it came along...

 

I still aint finished so I will just update it has I go along...

 

This is how it looked when I 1st got it

 

The engine bay

 

I took it back to metal etch primed then seam sealer then 2k primer

 

 

 

 

 

Then some 2k white

That Z is going to look great Terry keep at it mate.

Dont worry that front bumper wont be fitted like that once painted,

Its got none of the nuts holding bumper to wings its just placed on to go paint shop with few bolts so its easier to get off...

Terry - i've got a pair of blue glass side windows off the LWB i was breaking a couple of years ago. If you want to sort a courier out to pick them up you're welcome to them :)

A couple more pics of the bloody thing, painter ended up respraying the whole car again...

There was a couple of wobbles and imperfections in the paint,

 

Hopefully this time it should look well, its ment be having the paint put on tomorrow,

So i have my fingers crossed it comes out well,

 

Everything was guide coated and blocked with 320 to 800...

The lighter grey/white bits are the primer where the repairs were one side had quite a lot of imperfections,

The primer shows how dark the suzuka grey is, rather then just looking white...

Im so annoyed with it lately and im hoping it makes me want to keep it when i pick it up all shiney tomorrow...

 

I'll get some more pictures up tomorrow.

The only bits that don't need painting are the tbar bits and the little square next to it...

Bit annoyed cause I had the front and rear screen originally removed and now his gonna paint it with them in but he reckons he will mask it...

Well it looks shite, got it home they have missed the inner arch bits on the bumpers can see where its sunk where the primer was on the bonnet...

So I now have to phone in the morning and explain again...

 

This painting crap is really getting on my nerves now, its like they cant put the bloody paint on,

I have been through all this crap Terry! Frustrating isn't it! It's hard to find a decent painter who'll do the job to a reasonable standard!

This is supposed to be a good company, the do air brushing and show car paints...

But this is really crap, and each time I drop it there they keep it for bloody weeks...I can see the car going to the scrap yard, cause with other things going on im really getting the hump now...

Hi Terry, I think you need to put this into prospective, the bumper they can blow those bits in, so it's only the bonnet that needs repainting, just don't do anything you may reget.
