What make to you have on the front Bri - I like to have the same all round myself....

.....However for good grip on the rear, you'll be hard pushed to beat Goodyear Asymmetric 2 or Conti Sport Contact (3 or 5). They consistently receive the highest placing in independent tests - as does Michelin Pilot Sport; although they cost a fair bit more. I have Conti Sport Contact 3s all round on both my cars; and they have never let me down yet!!

Have the Toyo,s up front Rich (new)..i also like a matching set but tbh i was,nt really impressed with my last rear set of T1R,s,great in the dry but got a little twitchy when the roads were a little dampish.Removing my new fronts is not really an option at this present time to make a matching set. Will have a look at your choice you have posted.Steves choice compared well but only have 58% who would buy again:confused1:

:rofl: no one mentioned 275,s up front..

Lol some people! I guess because most people are annoyed that a tyre that expensive lasted so little. It's what Porsche chooses. I'm down to 3mm on them now and they definatly need replacing. In the damp I've slid from inside to outside lane a few times before the winter. I want different wheels anyways. I'm very tempted to run r888 all around

Porsche did mate - they chose Michelins now (according to TG magazine, for some cars anyay)...

For me the test of a really good tyre, is when they get down to 3 or 4mm of tread and still show no sign of giving up. And from personal experience Conti SC 3s still grip on at 3mm - and I hear the new 5s are supposed to be better!!

I will be running r888 to me self soon

Too much grip can make a car feel dull. I put 4x T1Rs on my last MX5 and that was just silly. If you could keep yourself in the drivers seat you could take any corner at any speed. I couldn't really advance myself as a driver with such huge grip.

That's what I'm getting on my new wheels r888 all round...

Cousin has them on a celica gt4 with over 400bhp and rev it up drop the clutch it jumps off the floor no wheel spin at all...

i use goodyear eagle f1. fantastic tyre if wet or dry. cant go wrong in my opinion

I also use the eagle f1's. Currently on the asymmetric 2 version and agree they are a very good tyre. However, I can't see them being a massive amount different to the T1R's, so based on Brian's post, I would be choosing between the 2 offerings that Jaffa suggested.

How about Toyo R1R, they are a little bit cheaper than R888 and look like more user friendly on wet condition.

Toyo R1R are a fantastic tyre very grippy and good in the wet as well .....I prefer the goodyear eagle as a daily all round tyre ..

I bid on 2 6mm goodyear eagle F1's the other day on ebay for my rears, 17's mine but didn't win them and I bid £140.00, on top of this I would of had another £20 to get them fitted, balanced, etc.

I am still contemplating going for some Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's for the rears at £125.00 each and some Nokians for the front at £75 a corner, both a little bit different from the norm but both get great reviews.

what width are your equips phutumsch? as im still to get tires for mine...although i think ive made my mind up!

I can fit 225 or 235 on the front, going with 235/40, this width although with a 45 profile was on the car when I got it but they rubbed quite badly on lock but I have adjustable this and that to go on so my hope is this issue will be no more with the 235's.

Rears, 255 or 265, going with 255, I have currently 245 and so a little stretch, don't want this no more, all with a 40 profile.

So many options lads ime like a rat in a mop bucket R888 V TR1,s atm....In all fairness ime guilty of always running a tad hard on my tires 34 rear and 32 psi fronts...might try 30 on each corner.I used to run on the low side once on a XJS jag and the rears used to creep around the rim and end up leaking:eek:

I would go super sports, excellent grip without comprising wet weather ability
