Hi everyone :)

First off, I think I must have registered on here years ago, probably when on the hunt for parts to put on a 200SX, account name was 'Ghazoobe' and I tried logging into it yesterday but was told that the account needs to be reactivated by an admin/mod (I presume due to being left unused for too long), however as I couldn't find any way to send one a PM the only thing I could think was to register a new account and post a thread.

Could someone possibly reactivate it for me? I'd prefer to use that account rather than this one as its the same username I stick to on most other car forums.

I'm pretty much totally new to 300ZX's and don't know all that much about them, apart from that I am seriously tempted to buy one that I've seen for sale, its a TT putting out around 380bhp and seems pretty cheap but being sold by someone I know and trust.

However I'm still not sure I'd like to give up my 200SX for it.

My 200SX is an S14a in Kuro Black, with a rollcage, coilovers, carbon bonnet, bodykit, massive brakes etc and running about 280bhp. (will put up some pics later, can't from work)

Is there anyone near Sidcup, Kent who would be willing (for beer/petrol tokens) to take me out for a drive in their 300ZX so I can see what they are like?

Thanks!

Some nice motors there im sure ive seen the s13 around ill have to keep an eye out for your zed sounds like a bit of a beast!!

Glad you have finally got it, yeah bin the short shifter! Replace the stick bushes and rubber gaitor as well while your at it. (The gaitor splits and you get a noise in 2nd and 4th, it's a big whirry gearbox)

Just check, I'm sure it's fine but check the car is charging it's battery, the alternator is down at the bottom so viable to water/salt etc damage. Worth the quick 2 second check.

Congrats on your purchase buddy. Yeah get those pics up asap.

Cheers, incoming :) (although being lazy and using the pics from the for sale ad as cars dirty now and can't be bothered washing it yet)

Nice one Graham - and good luck with your new toy my friend!!

Thanks mate, I tend to drive my cars down to Gravesend a lot as I know a guy down there who works on them for me.

Cheers mate, just about to post a wanted ad for a standard shifter, do you know if the bushes/gaitor can be bought brand new (I haven't searched yet but will do later).

Pretty sure it is charging the battery, but will double check. I stuck a new battery on there yesterday anyway as dropped off my 14a for some work to be done and the guy works at a battery company :) After putting that on I started it a few times as was driving around on errands and it behaved fine.

Heres a copy of the for sale ad for the car, I haven't taken my own pictures yet as been too busy to clean the car...

UK Z32 TT Manual nearly 400bhp - cheap!

Now with 386bhp / 365lb.ft - Dyno graph to prove. Custom map on 97 RON fuel so some headroom for trackdays.

The price for this car is £2000 absolutely NO offers. That is as low as I will go, so don't waste your time and mine asking. I've described it completely honestly, as I always do, for the same reason.

MOT March 14

There is a dent on the drivers side near the rear window, and on the boot. Some paint cracking on front splitter. It's not the tidiest cosmetically overall TBH, but as you can see from the pics it's not a total wreck.

It doesn't smoke excessively under any condition so I'm confident the engine and turbos are in good order.

And I got a copy of the glass damage mentioned in the ad too, apparently caused by an angry ex-wife or something?...

That's a very desirable genuine 99 spec front bumper on it as well.

Aye, me likey :)

Although I think I'll have to get some foglights (I presume its foglights) to stick in there as I don't like the big gaping holes where they should be.

How on earth do you get to the rear coilovers to adjust the damping? I've changed the fronts to a softer setting but can't see how you do the rears, unless you have to get under the car?

Yeah fogs or ducts. On a 99 I personally think ducts look best.

The dampers are normally done by the top, an adjustment knob is hidden under the boot lining.

Hmmm, might look at ducts. Although I always think that if you then drive in the rain your just scooping up extra water into the engine bay.

Cheers will go check in a bit once the missus takes over looking after the baby :)

Sorry boys, I've gone and sold it already :(

It is a lovely car, but just not quite for me I think.

Plus I managed to convince the missus that we need a 350z, but to do that I had to agree to sell the S14a, the 300zx and her MX5.

Yup, that's Murt's old car. I wondered when it might turn up next. Not surprised you found the suspension harsh. I've been in that car and Murt had it as low as possible - to low IMO. The damage to the glass was caused by the previous owner to Murt. I think it was Meht's car and that's when the damage happened - quite a while ago now. I actually fitted that front bumper for him. Needed a bit of paintwork from memory - could have done with a repaint when he had it. So it's now on its 3rd owner since Murt?

Aye, it was very harsh on the suspension, although I didn't think it particularly low (maybe from being used to low 200sx's though).

Personally I wouldn't say it needs paintwork, but I'm not really worried about my cars being particularly shiny etc, I just worry about them being in good mechanical condition.

Yeah it's doing well at gaining owners lol.
