Right this is the 3rd Zed ive owned.... all TT's all imports. all Autos (although this one has been converted.. 1 was a 1990 and the last 2 1992's

As the title suggests, is it just me or do they have "a smell"???

I know when i get in.. that im in a Zed... its just the smell of the car, nothing unpleasant i think they just have a particular smell to them..

Now is this just me.. or is there anyone else who has noticed this...

lol its not me... thats for sure.. its a definite car smell.. its..... well its hard to explain.. its just a Zed smell..

You should really stop dogging in it might go away then,

On a serious note though like has been said I think it's a jap thing, all my zeds, 200's have all smelt similar

No dont think its that... i mean the last one i owned was about 3 maybe 4 years ago... im pretty sure the smell would have gone by now... good idea though :)

My Z when I bought it had no smell at all. Now it just smells of leather. I have sat in other Zs and noticed a whiff. There was one in at Jimmers, might still be there that absolutely stinks inside. Blurgh.

Must be the damp carpets from leaking targas, thats about the common denominator in most zeds

I'm on my fourth zed some imports my current one is uk and yes they do all smell the same. When I bought the one I have now I was instantly taken back 13 years to when I bought my first uk zed.

That's exactly how I feel when I get in this one... I can instantly remember my first one and the summer of fun I had out in her

I know what you mean Neil - there is a characteristic 300zx smell; and even with a decent air freshener, you can still catch a trace of it when you first open the doors. As said above, it's not unpleasant at all though.......

......But to be fair, loads of cars have a characteristic smell which is specific to their marque. EG all Porsche 928s smell the same as each other - as do old Jags...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I do believe that bacteria hangs around air con systems...could be this that gives the familiar zed smell.

waiting for a post now "but ive took mine out and it still smells"

....a really stinky Z with cigarette smell too.

It must be to do with the materials that they use.Had lots of classic volkswagons in my unit over the last few months and they also have a certain smell to them:lol:

Yes that as well lol, ive got 4 air fresheners in mine and smells like fresh linen all the time, especially since ive placed the tubs in the vents

I agree with the smell, i just put it down to old tweed cloth in the interior? unsure though

Totally agree with this thread, in my first zed a couple of years back i thought it was the leather

2 years on and i recognised it immidiately, and it has the fabric interior..? So thats out of the question.

No idea where it comes from, but i would never wish it away!
