I've seen a zed on auto trader and I just need some advice as I think it's too cheap? The only faults I can see is a flat looking rear tyre and the rear light cluster doesn't look in great shape, also it doesn't say how much tax. Nut other than that it seems ok.

Do you think 1900 is over valued? I paid 3495 for it 14 months ago and they hold their value quite well. Ill defiantly have a serious think and I may even go down and do it tomorrow you never know. Ill keep everyone updated :-)

I only know what its worth to the trade as I have glasses guide in my hand now and it is mileage adjusted to about 1550. I think privately you have it priced fine but as your dealing with a trader he almost certainly has a figure of about 1500 that he is standing it in at.

Oh right fair enough. I'm not one to argue if its there it's there. I suppose some places this car would be more desirable than others and some companies price it different. Anyways I've decided m going to go there tomorrow. Make a call first and as about the cambelt before he hangs up on me lol

Amazing how little Auto versions go for now. Red JDM car looks really clean. Less chance of rust. The UK one, despite what the dealer suggested is very likely to have rust!

Yup I've made my mind up I just hoping this fella is willing to deal. I have to say I think it's a pretty fair deal and he is only 66 miles from me rather than 130 odd. Result!

Regardless of UK or jspec you should still carry out a comprehensive inspection of the same key points, including rust. Genuinely mileage on that one will be hit and miss being an import so could be considerably more than advertised. The only downside I see of the second one is that its a series 1 whereas the UK is a series 2...

To the motor trade these cars are old cheap imported gas guzzlers that very few people want to buy.

I dont think the price is too low for a 20 year old car with well over 100000 on the clock.

Wise words from Pete (and those who suggested offering £1200) - thing is there are 2 extremes... Half the trade will say that; and the other half will bang on about how rare they are and quadruple the price!! We all know which cars should be avoided though...:wink:

 

The "Rebuck Nissan" in the service book was taken over by Dan Perkins and now known as WLMG in Dover Road Slough. I used to get my first Z serviced there and they were OK (for a Nelson). The car looks a little tatty (missing steering wheel Z badge, leather, and the front wheels are the wrong way round but as far as you can see from the pics, looks not bad for the miles. Can't see what that "X" sticker in the window says. It's not RichardSmith's old red one is it?

It's a UK car and, if it is as unabused as it looks, for £1,500 could be a bit of a bargain. To be honest, if I had the spare, I'd buy it myself to keep it stock!

 

Not mine Mike - my old car left me with a 99-spec front and Azev alloy wheels. After Pistol Pete sold it on, it is now in Sussex, owned by a fella who sometimes frequents the forum under the username "Spanish"
