  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Never mind Lee - onwards and upwards mate.... Good luck with your next project...

Nice one mate - Murt's old car has itself another owner in very quick succession.... Hopefully a keeper this time though; eh?.....:flowers:

Me? Well one month of being SORNd was enough.... So I taxed it this morning, then took a little trip to the petrol station. However what with it being a nice sunny day, I realised just how much I had missed driving the ZX in the last few weeks - so I carried on driving for a bit longer..... And by the time I got home, I had covered over 100 miles!!!

Gotta love the ZX....

Back to the petrol station then bud

Fitted front caliper relocation brackets which then enabled me to fit New 324mm discs from a 350Z...too wet to then get it out and bed them in though:(

Where u get the brackets?

It was cold but sunny so went for a quick blast to warm the Z up to investegate a slight whining noise it seams to be coming from the timing belt area and suspect the timing belt pulley.Think its time for a belt change.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I discovered mine was rusting away so I replaced it with another broken one!!! Sweet

Mr Dent fitted 3 of my new gauges, he has also done an awesome job on my engine bay. Will get some more photo's when I can and post them up, but my Zed is going to look fantastic once finished. I would just like to thank Lee Dent for all of his hard work, he really is a top bloke, and I would not hesitate to take any of my cars to his place for him to work his magic. Cheers Lee, it is much appreciated buddy.

Well I resealed the targa seals with mastic and cleaned all the water drain holes to hopefully stop the ponds in drivers and passenger seats....... was that or buy some koi carp and be done with it.....lol

I then set about stripping my Nissan Consult 1 unit I got from ebay a while back.... I threw out the battery pack that was butchered and replaced it with 4 x AA batteries and a 4 cell holder.....

It now powers up at last...... unfortunately it says 'error 200' when it powers up and no idea what error 200 refers to.....?

I also have someone speaking to nissan technical for me to see if we can find out what this is...... but not holding out much luck......

Topped my Z up with a bit of oil and antifreeze and noticed I have no oil pressure reading on the dash..... so need to check the sender and wiring.....

Also have the dash light saying lights and door ajar lit up...... so need to check the bulbs and then door switches.....

But getting nearer time for it's MOT........

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

A little diferent but still zed related...ime making a low entry jack out of two jacks i had lying around, should go straight under from the side onto the box section that runs down either side of the floor:yes:

Not much.....

.....Well apart from sticking my new 300zx.co.uk club tax disc holder (cheers Gaz) inside the windscreen and popping in another 12 month disc...

Oh, and I treated the seats with Gliptone Liquid Leather conditioner - they came up well, plus car now smells nice and leathery. So I thought I'd do the SLK's seats as well...

I set them to Soft front and Medium rear and it is really hard to say if there is much difference. Perhaps a bit but It was sort of 2/3 dry on the test drive and I have only driven in the wet for like 3 months lol so of course it handled better.

What I can say is it took 4 hours or so, so wasn't too bad a job and I didn't remove the front tie bars or the exhaust like it reckons you need to. It certainly isn't any worse I think ill go to the stiffest setting on the rear and if that is too tail happy go firm front too. Time will tell.

After a good old polishing to a mirror finish, new red EL sheets and modded the plastic 300ZX logos to make them brighter........ basically a good old bit of refurbishment, refit my Altias :thumbup1:.

I only drove it 15/20 miles, really hard to say. They weren't the twistiest roads but it did feel really stable. It was difficult as it was the first dry drive in months and couldnt quite remember what it felt like.

I will give it a proper test, possibly tomorrow but they went on well, feel good bits of kit, dont squeak or anything.

And then I read that, oops!

Joley what other mods did you have when yours went on? I had already spent a track day and a lot of road tests getting the ride height on the meister rs just right (for handling not style) the damping and even the tyre pressures and it had strut braces; so it drove really well any way.

I was also trying to guard against the placebo effect on my arb test drive.

I plan to add the japspeed arms too with the aim to get firm or heavier steering if that makes sense? But the ballance and stability was already good.

Brought it out of hiding and had some fun over the weekend. Makes the Jag feel like a bus, I'd forgotten just how ridiculous it is with close to 500lb·ft and zero lag.

Hello Noel havent seen you here for a while, hope you are well. I dont kbow whether I hadn't spotted or just hadn't appreciated how awesome your 1/4 mile time is on your signature 12.62, that's crackers.

My car and mighty auto turbos are still fit and strong at near 70000 miles, I have also come to truly love the power after initially being a bit overwhelmed.

Thanks again mate

Good point, I didn't have my coilovers on when I fitted mine. I had adjustable shocks and lowered springs so I guess the job they do was more apparent.

grabbed an hour in the dry and bedded in my 350Z front discs:devil:

How big a difference is it from the stock brakes?

How big a difference is it from the stock brakes?

dont know yet Tom as did,nt want to put too much heat into them on the 1st outing...felt like i did,nt need to press as hard for the same braking as standed discs though

Applied carbon effect film to my wipers, pretty happy with the results -
