  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Kakimotos are my favourites 😍. Nice to see the best brand fluids being used - your Z will thank you 👍🏽. Get her back on the road asap whilst this sunny weather lasts! It was glorious last weekend driving everyday in mine.

My Kakimotos are a bit noisy in stop start traffic but my god they sound naughty when you get on the loud pedal and when rev matching and on the overrun 😍. Proper mechanical beastly noises, not like the modern dsg fart boxs on the roads these days.
Those fluids are pricey but worth it 💯.

Your Z looks super clean btw - get a project thread going with lots of pictures. Interested to see what rest of the car looks like and what you’re doing with it, even if minor bits and bobs 👍🏽

Yeah man I'm worried over the drone but heard nothing but good stuff about them! Can't wait mate!

Yeah pricey fluids but heard they are the best around! 👌

Yeah I'm gonna get a membership mate and bang some stuff on, it's been very well looked after mate , Dan radu had it before me 😃

  • 2 weeks later...

Today I replaced my coolant temperature gauge sensor....

Whilst using my Zed last week on hols in Cornwall, I noticed the temp gauge was showing some random scary high readings, but it never felt overly hot under the bonnet. There were no obvious signs of overheating and the oil pressure remained spot on. I also noticed it would read 1/4 on the gauge at cold start, when the car had bee unused for a day.

A few texts to Sir Jimmer ensued and I took a small detour to his place on the way home yesterday - so handy he is just off J18 of the M4 😉

Jim concurred it did not seem overly hot, despite the gauge reading - and the ambient temperature at noon yesterday - so I parted with the new sensor. I turned on the ignition first thing this morning and yes, it read 1/4 warm.... New sensor fitted, it returned to zero. Happy days!

And a very big thanks, once again, to Jimmer. We'd be lost without him!!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Washed and waxed with Dodo Juice "Purple Haze" yesterday, ready for the AGM.....

...............And another excuse to post the pics LOL.

Or even to extol the virtues of Purple Haze wax - it's great for dark blue cars😉

You guys need to invest in a stash of Optimum No Rinse! Works well when you don’t have access to running water. 👌

I normally use meguiar's no water car wash, but only aftrer getting to a car show. Good 'ol water for an 'at home wash'....

Not taking any chances parking outside those white lines Richard!

LOL - no, luckily they have changed the area of the carpark for shoppers - so now I can have an end-space yet still stay in the lines 😄

I used my Zed as a daily last week, after getting home from the AGM.....

....So I gave it a nice wash and wipe-over with Auto Finesse Glisten, before popping it back in the garage. It's nice and shiny once again - ready for Beaulieu. Plus it's another excuse for sharing some [more] Zed pics 😄

Love it, I miss using mine as a daily! As I take the train to work now, none of my cars get any use. A tank of petrol in the subaru lasts 3 months, the mx5 hasnt been used since march and has a flat battery and the TT gets used once a week to go shopping! 😁

Cant wait for Sunday to get the zed out and drive!
