  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I really liked the velour. They're more comfy than the leather, don't creak and don't pan-fry your thighs in summer.

These are literally in perfect condition too. Really happy with the interior now.

Need to get the body sorted soon, along with a few small bits and then it will be a good Z overall

  • 2 weeks later...

Apart from using my Zed these last couple of days, I fixed a minor little niggle today. I replaced the bolts holding my boot lock in place - since replacing it a few months back, it would occasionally work lose as the old brass bolts had seen better days.

Some nice new steel ones, together with new locking washers, and the tailgate no longer rattles over the poor road surfaces here. No more flashing "door open" light on the dash either...!!

All ready for the Zed's trip to Jimmer's next Saturday

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

As it was nice and sunny I gave my Zed a nice wash with my latest cleaning product, Valet Pro Advanced Poseidon shampoo, before popping it back in the garage once properly dried off. And since I was in the zone, I thought it only fair to give the other cars a little of the same..…..

Not so impressed with the picture quality of my replacement phone though...

My Z would be coming off the road about now too. Good to see you take it off the road for the winter. Must preserve as well as enjoy!

My AM is still coming of the road though. Salt/grit, no thanks!

Rust is the biggest killer of Z's mate so keep them out of the salty roads.

That’s sensible I put mine away in garage wi h trickle charger and in its cover but pay all year for it never use in rain or salty road s.

It will save me 3 or 4 months tax and it gives me time to do some fine fettling but will miss driving it on a good sunny Winters day Still insured of course you never know what can happen while in the garage like a fire or God forbid even stolen.

I took mine on a little trip West yesterday - amid the wind, rain and bits of tree flying around the M4.... Although the sun did try to pop its way out, when I got to Bristol mid-morning.....

…...It's now residing with Jimmer, for a 120k mile service, AC regas and sorting an ABS fault. Oh, and he'll also fit that driver's door glass which I bought from the scrapped, white UK car posted on here recently!

Yesterday, I finally got round to fixing my power steering leak!

Managed to locate the leak a couple of weeks back and after speaking to Luke at Z Centre, he advised me that it was a low pressure pipe and that I could replace with some oil hose. Thanks again Luke for your help.

The hardest bit was cutting the section of the old one out from the PAS pot to under the radiator as I had to cut it with my Dremmel in a few places to wiggle it out!

For every NEC show that I’ve attended, my Z has been decontaminated and on lockdown in the garage for a super mega detail for weeks before the show! Not this year, I haven’t had time to do anything with it and today I found myself at a loose end. My initial thought was to go for a turbo spruce up but having walked into the garage and seeing it looking pretty clean from it’s pre-MOT wash, I closed the garage door and walked away!

Instead, I decided to spruce up the club welcome mat for the stand!

This is going to take a while!

Having removed my passenger seat for the second time due to a leaky roof, I've bitten the bullet and ordered every seal available! Added with some limited supply body parts and mouldings, ConceptZ have almost maxed out my credit card. It's gonna be a quiet but hopefully dry Christmas. ?

On another note, I bought another Veilside Evolution over the weekend. Anyone care to guess the price? ?

I too considered cleaning my z, but never made it to the garage

I ran out of paint for this yesterday and only managed to get the 300ZX O and part of the W done! No probs I thought, amazon have it for next day delivery on prime. Typical that the one item that doesn’t actually make it next day is the one I really needed!

It looks really silly part-painted so no welcome mat this year peeps. [emoji3525]
